I set my bag down on a table after entering the amphitheater. As I take a deep breath, Jung Kook and Tae Hyung whisper encouraging “fighting” next to me. I nod once in their direction, turn and plod to a group of classmates. Among them is the girl who asked me the translation question last time. I exhale deeply and smile slightly. I see the students’ surprise but I understand that my initiative comes out of the blue for them. “I-I’m sorry for my “strange” behavior all this time,” I begin hesitantly. “There’s… A reason for it. I’m quite bad at English,” she answers, scratching the back of her neck. “I can help you now!” I jump on the opportunity without a second thought but my insecurity suddenly pulls the reins back, forcing me to speak a little lower as I take a step backward. “Um, if you want.” “Really?” she blurts excitedly. “Oh, thank you!” “No problem.” “You’re the best at English here, it’ll help a lot!”
