Students were both in awe by the group of boys and somewhat disgusted by their reputation.

They were popular, despite being musical theatre kids, a genre typically outcasted. The members- Jongdae, Chanyeol, Baekhyun, and Kyungsoo, had their own charms, but most importantly, they never failed to lighten up a class.

The nickname arose in grade 10, when Chanyeol walked into biology one morning dripping in water and mud. Somewhat affectionately, the teacher yelled out what are you, a puppy? This was recieved with laughs and a grin from the boy. "Woof!"

Baekhyun, followed by Jongdae, started barking as well, and the name stuck. 

Baek and Jongdae were neighbours and close friends gowing up. They went to the same elementary, and when they were about to be seperated due to Jongdae transferring to a more accademically challenging middle school, Baekhyun begged for tutors and entered the next semester. Chanyeol was already very popular at their school. The three made fast friends.

Kyungsoo joined the group later. He was somehow (mysteriously~) acquainted with Chanyeol, but not the rest. When he join the Musical Theatre club, Chanyeol- one of the prime members- quickly whisked him up and introduced him to Baek and Dae. He went off on an excited tangent; "theyre crucial members of this club! really cool dudes! we should all hang sometime!".
