It was far from a regular day albeit everything seemed normal. The sun still rose from the east and the sky was still blue. Time was still running at its pace. Nights were still nights and days were still days. The only thing which was not an everyday scenario was Baekhyun staring at an angel during hours which couldn’t be called morning. Even though he had confirmed it for the nth time, his everything was there, beside him. He couldn’t help but smile on seeing her sleeping so peacefully next to him. She looked so graceful while lying there that he didn’t want to disturb her deep slumber. It was just yesterday when she had arrived. Baekhyun had no idea when she was going to come and when she stood there outside the apartment, all smiling and happy on seeing him, he hugged her so tightly almost suffocating her to death. He couldn’t help but pick her up and spin her around. Sae Ri couldn’t feel anything on her face after Baekhyun peppered her face with kisses.

Baekhyun frowned when Sae Ri rolled on her right, her back blocked his view. He snuggled closer to her and shimmied his hand under her figure. This made Sae Ri roll back to the left facing Baekhyun again. A smile made its way on Baekhyun’s face as his heart swelled with warmth on seeing her soft features. She made cute noises in her sleep, something he had common with her, and moved closer to the source of warmth. Baekhyun had waited for months for this to happen. In his imagination, every detail was so perfectly idealistic scenario of romance but in reality, it was infinitely the best. It was already afternoon and he had to wake her up now, but he couldn’t. She looked so calm and serene juts breathing in and out and he didn’t want to intervene in that.

Unfortunately, her eyes fluttered open the moment he removed his arm from below her. “I’m sorry to wake you up. Fall back asleep; I’ll go and do some work.” He kissed her hair but a tug on his shirt made him look at her. She yawned and sat up sleepily. “I’ll come with you. What time is it?” She looked at the clock and her eyes doubled their normal size on seeing how late it was. “12:30! Why didn’t you wake me up?” Sae Ri asked Baekhyun who chuckled. “You were tired from all the traveling. Moreover, you looked so peaceful while sleeping I didn’t want to wake you up.” Baekhyun reasoned and shyly scratched his nape. Sae Ri tried to bite back her smile and hid her face from Baekhyun knowing he would for this. “Go shower. I’ll make us some breakfast.” Before Baekhyun could protest she left for the kitchen.

It was evident that Sae Ri was worried about unpacking all her stuff. She kept on staring at the boxes during the breakfast. Baekhyun placed his hand on hers snapping her out of the daze. “Don’t worry. I’ll help you unpack everything. You don’t have to unpack everything today, okay?” Baekhyun’s reassurance relaxed her and she nodded her head in response. Sae Ri couldn’t be any happier. She loves Baekhyun more than anything in this world and being together with him was a lifetime of euphoria. Just the thought of staying by his side was blissful for her. They had finally resolved all the issues of the past and were writing a new story of their love.

“Why don’t we start with unpacking your clothes and books today?” Baekhyun suggested and Sae Ri agreed with him. “After that, we can go on a date.” Sae Ri almost choked on water when Baekhyun mentioned date. “D-Date?” Sae Ri asked, agape. “Date,” Baekhyun repeated the word with more confidence. “We’ve never been on a date before. The distance was the problem but now we’re together. I never officially asked you to be my girlfriend.” Baekhyun was right. Usually, people first develop a liking for each other, and then they go on dates and then fall in love. For Baekhyun and Sae Ri, they first developed a liking for each other, they fell in love, then came in betrayal and now they made up and fell in love again. What an unusual love story!

“Okay.” Sae Ri simply said and Baekhyun noticed her pink cheeks. “You are blushing, aren’t you?” Baekhyun and propped his head on his hands. “I’m not.” Sae Ri asserted and looked away. “You are blushing. Did I make the tough Sae Ri blush?” Baekhyun chuckled on seeing her become redder and leaned over the table to get a look at her face. “No, you didn’t.” Sae Ri flicked him on the forehead and raced towards her bedroom before Baekhyun could catch her. God, I love her, Baekhyun thought in his head and followed her to her room.

Sae Ri collected her hair in a bun and sat down to unpack all her clothes. Baekhyun, on the other hand, took the responsibility to arranger her books. She had a lot of books for a person who didn’t read books often. Baekhyun’s eyes shone on seeing his books in the boxes. He didn’t alert her knowing she would hide it in embarrassment. He had no idea she had all his six books. He flipped through the pages of every book noticing that she had highlighted a few words and sentences. All the lines that she had decided to highlight had motivational connotations. He also noticed some questions she had written on the pages about the characters. Those questions made him wonder whether he wrote the story correctly. In those thirty minutes, Baekhyun had thought of six different parallel universe theories. “You are right. Se Ho should have used that abandoned weapon.” The moment Baekhyun mentioned the characters in his book, Sae Ri mentally slapped herself for not remembering the boxes contained his books too. “I am your favorite writer, right? Now that I am thinking about it, you made it quite obvious.” Sae Ri tried to reach and grab the book but Baekhyun raised his hand making it difficult for her to grab the book.

“You love making people blush and teasing them, don’t you?” Sae Ri crossed her arms across her chest and sighed in defeat. Baekhyun grinned and shrugged his shoulder. “Give me a kiss and the book is yours.” Baekhyun pointed his finger towards his lips and puckered them. Sae Ri shook her head and went back to unpacking her clothes. Baekhyun had a look of betrayal on his face and gasped in disbelief. “This is unbelievable. You don’t love me. You never did. How can you not kiss me? This hurts me. No cuddles for you now. How can you be laughing? It’s not funny. Stop-” Baekhyun would have gone on and on if Sae Ri wouldn’t have silenced him with a kiss. Baekhyun closed his eyes and the moment he started enjoying the kiss, she pulled away. “I can’t believe I fell in love with a drama queen.” Sae Ri pecked his lips before going back to work. Baekhyun cleared his throat and covered his red cheeks.

Sae Ri should have seen this coming. She should have known. Sae Ri was standing outside a library waiting for Baekhyun who was in the washroom. She rested her hands on her hips the moment she saw Baekhyun came jogging towards her. “You’re going to make me read your favorite books on our first date, aren’t you?” Baekhyun chuckled seeing the look on Sae Ri’s face. “I wasn’t but now that you said it, I might as well do it.” Sae Ri playfully hit Baekhyun on his arm who feigned hurt. “I am just kidding. Trust me; it’s going to be fun.” Baekhyun reassured her. They were going in when his eyes fell on her shoes. He bent down to tie the laces of her footwear.

“I could have tied the laces myself.”

“I know but then it wouldn’t have been romantic.”

“This is my favorite library. It usually has fewer readers but it is the best in my opinion.” Baekhyun looked around the library in fascination. Sae Ri could see how much Baekhyun loved this place. “There it is.” He dragged her to the romance section which was located in the corner of the library. “We are gonna play a little game. Select random books and fold the corners of the pages that have lines that describe each other. After we are done, we’ll ask each other to read them. ” Sae Ri had never done this before. It seemed very interesting. Baekhyun kissed her cheek and went to the other side. Sae Ri bit back her smile. Her footsteps were slow as her fingers brushed every novel she could reach. She randomly picked up a book, flipping through pages slowly, trying to read every word she could. When she found the page, she folded its corner. Memories rushed inside her head as she read some lines that were the plain reflections of her thoughts. There were many words she wanted to tell Baekhyun and this was just the perfect way.

Time wasn’t ending as both of them kept on searching words in the books. If Baekhyun wouldn’t have set a timer for fifteen minutes, both of them would have gone on and on. “Time to read.” Baekhyun and Sae Ri changed their positions and their hearts beat in sync as they tried to spot books their other halves had chosen. Sae Ri’s eyes fell on The Notebook and she flipped through its pages. The folded page read -I am nothing special; just a common man with common thoughts, and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten. But in one respect I have succeeded as gloriously as anyone who’s ever lived: I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul; and to me, this has always been enough.

She smiled and then moved on to the next book she could find. Her hands grabbed a work of Tyler Knott Gregson. As she guessed, there was a quote in there too, which read, I would love to say that you make me weak in the knees but to be quite upfront and completely truthful you make my body forget it has knees at all.

It was at that moment she realized how much Baekhyun meant to her. She could spend the whole day reading all these quotes. Her hands kept on exploring different book each with a different definition of love.

Now, I’m not going to deny that I was aware of your beauty. But the point is, this has nothing to do with your beauty. As I got to know you, I began to realize that beauty was the least of your qualities. I became fascinated by your goodness. I was drawn in by it. I didn’t understand what was happening to me. And it was only when I began to feel actual, physical pain every time you left the room that it finally dawned on me: I was in love, for the first time in my life. I knew it was hopeless, but that didn’t matter to me. And it’s not that I want to have you. All I want is to deserve you. Tell me what to do. Show me how to behave. I’ll do anything you say.

Do I love you? My god, if your love were a grain of sand, mine would be a universe of beaches.

Here's to all the places we went. And all the places we'll go. And here's to me, whispering again and again and again and again: I love you.

Sae Ri could feel herself falling in love with Baekhyun in that moment, again and again. The more she read the quotes, the more she filled love in the cup called heart. How could her heart love someone else’s without overflowing? She was still shy to face Baekhyun and waited for him to finish reading.

Baekhyun had no idea he was capable of loving Sae Ri more than anything else in this world. He looked into her soul while reading the quotes she had for him. With a smile he read the quotes again and again, wanting to memorize them by heart.

In vain have I struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you.

You pierce my soul. I am half agony, half hope...I have loved none but you.

I do love nothing in the world so well as you – is not that strange?

If I were to live a thousand years, I would belong to you for all of them. If we were to live a thousand lives, I would want to make you mine in each one.

I like myself better when I’m with you.

Baekhyun could feel the familiar moisture in his eyes. Her fingers brushed over the pages with all those lovely quotes. His heart was enveloped with the love he housed in there. He pushed the book back in the rack and went on the other side and found Sae Ri leaning against the wall waiting for him. Her face lit up with her ever so beautiful smile and Baekhyun couldn’t hold himself back. He walked towards her, cupped her face and tasted her lips. Sae Ri could feel the passion, emotions, love the moment his lips became one with hers. She lost herself to the kiss as it became more and more passionate with each passing eternity. Both of them could care less about the world. It was just the two of them in the universe they had created. Baekhyun pulled her as close as he could and Sae Ri pulled away to breathe for a second but connected her lips with him again. Tongues met and fingers twirled the strands of hair in the burning desire. They could have kept going on and on but when they could not feel themselves breathing, they had to let go.

For a moment, they looked into each other’s souls. “I love you,” Baekhyun whispered against her lips. “I love you too.” Sae Ri took his upper lips in between her lips and kissed it slowly. Baekhyun responded to the kiss slowly, still out of breath. “What are you doing?” Both of them were interrupted by a thundering voice of the librarian who had a stick in his hand ready to beat them to death for the inappropriate behavior. “Run.” Baekhyun grabbed her hand and they ran out of the library with Baekhyun screaming and Sae Ri laughing loudly as she ran as fast as she could.
