Joy stared and only stared at the blushing girl, and was quite shocked to see this kind of transition in Wendy. That girl being flustered was real shock.
“That's called jealousy, unnie” Joy answered, probably answering the right feeling that Wendy felt that urged her to kiss Irene like that.
“Why would I be jealous? That's absurd” Wendy said, gulping down her saliva, trying to act tough but inside her heart was still racing, imagining Irene's face.
Joy blinked, “I know right? You being jealous is absurd unless…”
Joy stared through Wendy, who was expecting an answer from her dear sister.
“unless…?” Wendy whispered.
“…you like her” Joy whispered back, her eyes widening when the realization hit her.
“Oh my god! You like her!” Joy flipped out which kind of scared Wendy, as she sat frozen with Joy’s words lingering in her mind.
Irene.
Irene.
That's what her head was chanting and suddenly her heart started to beat, Wendy sighed thinking how Joy is completely right.
“..I like her..” Wendy huffed, getting all red after the realization and checking through her heart. Up until now, Wendy didn't like anyone, she only found some people cute but that was it, no butterflies and heart changing. So, this must be big if Irene makes her feel those stuffs.
“I can't believe you actually like someone.” Joy was excited as she smiled at Wendy, who sat dazed.
“I can’t believe it too. How can I like her?” Wendy asked Joy.
“How am I supposed to know about it? You weirdo. And the fact that you kissed her without explanation, she must be thinking you're a creep.”
Wendy panicked, “Oh god, is she? Why didn't I think of that!? She might be…What should I do? How should I face her now..? Tell her it was a joke?”
“Never joke with feelings, unnie, it's precious. Tell her the truth, tell her you like her.” Joy suggested.
“I mean…I can't…I need to make sure if I truly like her or not.” Wendy said.
“As you feel, unnie” Joy agreed upon Wendy’s decision because she is an independent woman and she doesn't want to meddle with other’s life decisions.
(…)
“Heol, she totally likes you.” Jennie snorted over her drink.
A flustered Irene shuttered, “You think so too right? Why would she even kiss me so suddenly?”
“I'm telling you, she got jealous. And that hickey is ing disgusting” Jennie said and looked away after pointing the infamous hickey.
“I got carried away.”
“That's why she got mad! Why do you have to go back with your chicks when you get mad?” Jennie cornered her.
Irene coughed, “I just happen to be like that. I can't be a good girl and stay around the house crying all night for one person. That's just not how I am.”
“So you go and cheat?”
“It's not cheating if I'm not even with Wendy, you .” Irene threw the paper at Jennie, who glared at her.
“Would you do it if you were dating her?”
Irene’s heart paced, will she? She has never been so serious about love and she vowed to never, it was a waste of time but it was fun to play the heartbreaker. She wanted a chill life with no consequences of love, but Wendy…what is it with Wendy?
“I won't change for her, for anyone.”
Jennie smirked, “Not even if she confesses her love to you?”
“Love is not worth it, I've learned it. You just play along and be done when you're tired. She has a girlfriend anyway.”
“Your idea about love is fascinating as ever, Irene. Well, I can't say anything at all. But…what if Wendy likes you?” Jennie raised her eyebrows.
Irene thought for a while and was in dilemma. What if…? She didn't want to date but she just couldn't see Wendy with someone else.
“Then she likes me. I can do nothing about it.” Irene gritted her teeth while Jennie laughed.
“You're amusing. I'll see what you do if that ever happens.” Jennie winked.
Irene shook her head, “nothing like that will happen.”
(…)
“She's late” Irene muttered as she stared the wall clock waiting for Wendy’s arrival. Usually she would arrive early in the morning, but she's already 10 minutes late than her usual time.
“You probably scared her. What did you do to her last night? You came back alone.”
Irene told Jisoo to shut up, “She's the one who scared me yesterday with…”
Jisoo didn't listen to Irene at all, like usual.
“Did you beat her to death!?”
“Oh, shut up, like I would ever do that to her.” Irene rolled her eyes.
“Should I call her?” Jisoo smirked, being playful but got completely turned down by Irene.
“No. I have a phone too so I can call her.” Irene said.
“You're no fun, Joohyun! Anyway, don't forget about the dinner tonight with dad.” Jisoo said as she left Irene alone in her room.
“Dinner my foot, we could just eat at home” Irene sighed because this unexpected dinner with dad was weird, that man only liked his work.
“Did Wendy die on the way?” Irene thought as she lifelessly played her phone, looking through people’s feed and making a judgement.
“Or something happened to her?!” Irene shook her head as she looked at the ceiling this time, sighing for the 12th time
Irene’s eyes widened, “Oh my god! Did her jokester of girlfriend find out about our kiss and kill her!?”
Irene paced back and forth and finally called Wendy, who picked up almost immediately.
“It's me.” Irene said as her mind was going crazy over the fact that she could hear Wendy’s voice.
Wendy coughed through the line, “I know”
“You called because?”
Irene bit her lower lip as she replied, “You're not here…Shouldn't you be here by now?”
“Today's my….” Wendy trailed off and didn't say anything.
Irene replied, “hmm?”
“I'm sorry, I will be there in five minutes.”
Irene’s face lit up, “Yup,
