Why took you so long to reply, love?
Ah, I am really sorry about my last letter. I know that was really short. I didn’t want to risking my letter that might have got intercepted by mum. She was in the back garden, watering the flowers. I only have couple minutes to write my last letter to you, after that I could get the letter to the post office before she returned to the house.
By the way, yesterday I met Haewon when I was walking from the post office. It was pure coincidence, not my intention though.
We took a walk together. She wanted to go to the lake then said, “I want to see our wedding venue.”
I really didn’t want to make her think as though the lake held special meaning for me or anything, because I knew she would try to guess what it was.
We sat on the grass. Her chestnut hair blown by the chilly wind in the middle of September. Out of the blue, she held my hand and said, “So.. who’s the lucky woman?”
I froze. “What do you mean, Haewon?”
“It’s obvious, at least to me. The way you told me the meaning of love last time, it was really beautiful. Who is she? Who's the lucky woman that could capture your heart? I am really curious, Jinyoung. Please tell me.”
I retracted my hand from hers, “There’s no woman.”
