Moon Byulyi comes in the Moon Corp. the day after she sends her resignation letter to gather her things that Yeri is taking care of already. She just dropped Yongsun off and was in a good mood due to the time she spent with her girlfriend. She sees a platform of some sort in the middle of the ground floor. A lot of reporters and photographers were there along with most of the employees with their corporation’s spokesperson on the stand and who she thinks is the next CEO beside him. She knows the guy and she couldn’t help but snicker.

Byul would just pass by since this isn’t really her concern anymore but then she hears her name. “Miss Moon,” Jay, the man standing behind the spokesperson calls loud enough for everyone to hear despite the loud speech. Byul smiles kindly and waves a short hello to Jay. She really wanted to go up her office and just leave right after since all attention is now on her but Jay jumps down the platform and walks towards her.

“Miss Moon, it’s great that you’re here. Mr. Night here was just about to announce me as the new CEO, you should stay until then.” Jay sounds really polite and friendly but the smirk on his stupid face says otherwise.

“I’d love to, Jay. However, I have to gather my stuff in the office. Wouldn’t want you to stay there with all my things everywhere.” Byul sends a smile before leaning closer to Jay. “It’ll make you think of how the office was mine and you were just a replacement the board appointed overnight,” she whispers.

Jay’s expression turns dark. He was supposed to make Byul stay and go through the humiliation of being present to her own replacement’s inauguration. He didn’t think Byul would bite back. He hasn’t seen her bite before but he’s seen it now. He won’t back down, however. “Nonsense,” he says loudly while chuckling. “I’m sure your employees would love to see you one last time before you go. Your things can wait. It’s not like you’ll be doing anything productive with it in a while. Well, not that you’ve been doing anything productive ever.” He smirks.

Byul was about to make fun of him but she sees her department heads stand up from their seats at the platform in a sort of annoyed states. She smirks back at Jay. Now, she knows what her team meant when they said that they would handle things on their side. So, she just folds her arms in front of her chest and waits.

“How dare you mock, Miss Moon?!” Ben shouts at Jay. “She has taken this company to greater heights with her skills and leadership!”

Jay raises an eyebrow at Ben, irritated. “I think you misunderstood me, Ben. I was only inviting Miss Moon to stay for the announcement.”

Jhemerlyn backs Ben. “Invite her? Not only did you tell her she would be unemployed for a while, you even said she barely did anything while in she was the CEO of this company!”

With the department heads’ inciting an insurrection, the employees who are very fond of their former CEO joined in. Mr. Night, the spokesperson, was trying to calm down the crowd while the reporters and photographers were having the time of their lives. Their headlines were definitely covered with this excitement in the “oh-so-perfect” Moon Corporation.

Jay is intelligent, educated, rich, and has experience in running a company. But he is also young, arrogant and entitled. His ego is bruised and the scene before him and the insults thrown his way makes him explode. “Enough!” His voice booms and stops the racket. He grits his teeth and glares at the department heads. “I have had plans to change the department heads of this company but chose not to in lieu of your loyalty and service to the company. However, if this is how you would treat me, your new CEO, then I have no choice but to let all of you go!”

“You are not yet the CEO, Jay,” Blaire hammers the last nail that ended Jay’s patience.

“From this day on, I am the CEO! You best remember that!” Jay points at Blaire.

“Why do we have to? I thought we were fired?” Dom asks as he tilts his head to the side, looking so innocently at Jay.

Jay was fuming and Byulyi couldn’t help but laugh heartily. She sees Jay glaring at her and she raises a hand as an apology. “I-I’m sorry, Jay. It was just so funny. I couldn’t help but laugh.”

Jay clenches his hands into fists. “I think you have overstayed your welcome, Miss Moon. Please take your things and leave as soon as you can.”

“Of course. I’ll take those mischievous employees of mine too. I’m sure you’re going to take care of the paperwork since you did just fire them yourself. Good luck!” Byul waves as she walks to the elevator, leaving all the mess behind.
