Empty. Again.

Throughout the day, I had hoped that I would be able to catch Wendy alone for a few minutes so that I can finally try to talk to her about the letter and why she's been acting so weird lately. I had no luck finding her in the office or studio, narrowly missing her before she headed out according to our other staff. Speaking of weird, I look at the clock for the umpteenth time to make sure that my eyes are not playing tricks on me.

3 AM. She's not home yet. No missed calls. No texts. All my messages unread.

Hey, where are you?

Just so you know, you left your concerned best friend home alone…

A text would have been nice. Not that hard to send a text.

You just needed to tell me where you disappeared off to…

So I wouldn't have to pace like a madman in our living room.

It's been 2 hours since my first unanswered text. Nice.

Just ring or like text me so I know not to call the police for a missing person....

3 hours and counting. That’s cool.

Still burning a hole through the carpet if you were wondering. At least I've completed my steps goal while waiting for you. 17,583 steps btw.

If you ever wanna put your best friend out of his misery, I think a text or call would be good.

Oh great. She finally responded but it's painfully obvious that she's wasted and I still have no idea where the hell she could be. Since when did she get into the habit of becoming rip-roaring drunk, staying out past midnight and generally acting like the reckless, hormonal teenager; a phase she skipped when she was actually a teenager. She was always the responsible one who cleaned up my messes, made sure I got home safe and was the designated back-patter when I was throwing up my guts over a toilet bowl.

Over the past few days she hasn't been acting like herself and it's throwing me in a loop…crying, running off multiple times, unavailable, hungover and now she's out and drunk late in the night…
