Chanyeol strummed his guitar aimlessly as he thought about the matchmaking gone terribly wrong. It’s been days and Jongin’s back to being his usual self, as if the portrait didn't exist. Whereas Baekhyun — well Chanyeol kept him in the dark. He hadn’t had the balls to tell him that he might have messed up his bestfriend’s quiet, little crush on Jongin.

Yet Chanyeol wasn’t willing to live with that guilt.

Chanyeol blinked in confusion. “What?”

“That’s your ‘I’m-about-to-come-up-with-an-amazing-idea-that-actually-’ face. Just tell baek.”

Chanyeol scowled and Jongdae feigned innocent. Feeling sour, he took the opportunity to hurtle a pillow at his friend, hitting Jongdae squarely on his face.

“Ow! Bish. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” He threw the pillow back and rubbed his nose, flopping onto Chanyeol and the bed.

“It’s too early to say, trust me dae, it’ll definitely work this time.” Chanyeol broke into his signature over-grin, flipping Jongdae off and onto the floor easily.

Donning his white team photography shirt on, Baekhyun noted that it was noticeably oversized. He remembered placing order for a size S, and obviously, this wasn’t a size S. He tsked and slung the camera over his neck, rearranged his bed hair and made his way down to the field.

Evening was setting in fast and a crowd was forming to enter the bleachers. Baekhyun made a quick exit towards the “AUTHORITIES ONLY” door, emerging into a restricted area where the teams would be running out from. Mentally doing a headcount of the photographers and noting it was full strength, Baekhyun ran through the evening’s plan once over.

“... While it’s important to focus on your assigned player at your designated area, it’s perfectly alright to crossover and take shots of other players, alright? The main objective of today is to capture the team’s moments, it’s not about us or who gets the best shots, today’s about them. So DO NOT develop animosity between your own team over this match got it?”

Garnering the response he wanted, he motioned for them to disperse, just as the match’s announcers began their introduction of their own school’s football team. First to enter the field was the guest team and while they were jogging out into the open, Baekhyun noted that his player’s line up was on the opposite side of the entrance.

There’s a minute or two before the school team runs out and I’ve got to make it out into the corridor and back through the other door.

Working out the math in his head, he would be looking at mad dash if he wanted to make it across. Impulsively, Baekhyun hoisted himself up and over the rails, in the process, tugging one of his shoelaces undone. Adrenaline coursing through his body, he scurried across the neatly mowed turf and promptly tripped on his shoelace, sending his camera flying overhead.
