Description
Nineteen year old August Rivers is not your average High School graduate. After she was abandoned by her family in a foreign country, she moved on to form a four person band that skyrocketed in popularity during her senior year of High School. Quickly the all-girl rock group was noticed by talent agency SMEntertainment, who wanted to debut the girls. By the time August had graduated she was preparing to make her debut in a few short months, and had already met some of the groups she had idolized in younger years, even to the point of befriending them. So when SHINee member Lee Taemin comes to her for help with English, a class he is failing due to balancing school and work, August can't help herself and agrees to tutor him. Nobody could have imagined what a simple 'Yes' could lead to, though...
Foreword
First Fanfic... Yay. I probably won't portray any cannon characters accurately. Just wanted to get this stupid plot out of my head and onto "paper" before it drove me crazy. Meh, nobody is going to read this so who am I talking to???
- I set the boy's ages back a year since otherwise Taemin wouldn't be in school, but the setting is still 2012. Yay for creative liberties! XD
- When a character is speaking in English it will be black. When a character is speaking in Korean it will be green.

An all-female rock group that took their city by a storm when they first 'debuted' during a school talent show. For the past year they have been training to become the next rage in the music industry, and hope to take the world by a storm in their upcoming debut. August, a native-born American, and Naomi, a French/Korean multicultural child, hope to use their native languages to help spread the popularity of GirlsDeMo.

A contemporary boy's group that presents and takes the lead in music, dance, and fashion that fits the current trend. The name "Shinee" is a coined term that added the suffix "-ee" to the word "shine", to be interpreted as "the one who is in light." In this case, the light means spotlight, and it also reflects the team's great aspirations to attract a wide range of fans through pursuing various kinds of music regardless of region or generation. They made their debut on May 25, 2008 on SBS's Inkigayo with their promotional single, "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)"
