“You seem a little jittery. Are you okay?” Yuri asked curiously

Tiffany just nodded and smiled

*One more day* she thought determinedly

“You can’t wait for your little date can’t you?” Yuri wiggled her eyebrows

Tiffany stopped and stared at Yuri accusingly

“Well its true isn’t it?” Yuri quickly defended

Tiffany let out a sigh

“The doctors said you should be able to be released again within another few days. They said you’re healing quite fast” Yuri informed

Tiffany nodded slowly

“Hey Yuri… Could you take me out to go buy something? I want to give Taeyeon something for her birthday” Tiffany asked slowly

Yuri raised her eyebrows

“What did you have in mind?”

Tiffany turned to the side and took out a small box. She opened the small box and took out the heart shaped necklace that Taeyeon had given her and showed it to Yuri

“Something similar but better than this” Tiffany smiled

“Wow” Yuri gasped as she took the necklace “She gave this to you?”

Tiffany nodded

“I want to get something for her as well”

Yuri just nodded

“I think I know the perfect thing. You’ll have to stay here and rest though” Yuri smiled

Tiffany’s jaw dropped

“But I want to pick the present” Tiffany whined

“I can’t do that. I’m not taking responsibility if you start to hurt or something. I’m not that good with looking after others” Yuri explained

Tiffany frowned

“I’ll send you pictures of everything I find that’s suitable and you can text me which one you like. Okay?” Yuri offered

Tiffany pouted

“Doctor’s orders” Yuri shrugged

“Fine” Tiffany sighed in defeat

“I’ll send you the first pictures soon” Yuri patted Tiffany’s head

“Hurry. I want something to entertain me for a while” Tiffany whined

“Araso” Yuri chuckled as she picked up her bag and walked out of the room

Tiffany watched as the door slowly closed, giving off a loud click once it hit the door. She was alone again

Tiffany smiled to herself encouragingly as she got out of the bed and walked over to the window sill. She picked up the water bottle that was placed there and gave the plant a few dollops of water.

“Why won’t the second flower bloom” Tiffany whispered as she lowered herself to eye level with the plant

“You’re making your friend wait too long” Tiffany smiled as she turned her head to the side and admired the already blooming flower

It’s been over a week and yet the flower was still as beautiful as ever, not withering or giving off any signs of it being a week old

‘You made me wait too long’

Tiffany quickly sat up straight at Taeyeon’s voice

The images of Taeyeon disappearing into thin air were replaying through Tiffany’s head. The scene of her figure was just blown away like sand in a windy storm, the sudden freeze in time when the pot plant fell, the flower blooming all too late before it was totally destroyed by the impact of the fall.

Tiffany shook her head to clear her mind. She then felt a finger press against her chest

‘I waited for yours’

Tiffany used her hand to press against her chest.

“Waited for what?” Tiffany whispered to herself as she kneeled to the floor

She turned her body around and leaned against the wall in confusion. What did her dream mean? What did Taeyeon wait for?

As Tiffany sat there trying to make sense of things, something caught her eye. On top of Taeyeon’s bed there was something glistening.

It was Taeyeon’s diary. Its glittering cover was reflecting the sun that was creeping through the curtains and into Tiffany’s eyes

Tiffany slowly got up and walked to the diary. She slowly picked it. The diary seemed to pulse in her hand as temptation started to grow on her.

Tiffany opened the cover of the diary before quickly shutting it again

*I can’t do this. It’s an invasion of privacy* Tiffany scolded herself

The diary pulsed again

‘I happen to come across that Taeyeon’s diary. Seems a little… interesting’ Yuri’s voice reminded her

*I’m sure she wouldn’t mind…* Tiffany thought to herself as she bit her lower lip and slowly opened the cover of the small book

‘She’s back! She’s back! After three years she’s back! I thought we would meet under different circumstances but this is good enough I guess… Her nickname water balloon seems to have caught on to Yoona and Hyoyeon though… I wonder if she minds that’

Tiffany blinked a few times as she read the first entry. She then skipped a few pages and read the entry there

‘Tiffany moved in with me again. It’s really exciting. Now Jessica and Sooyoung won’t have to run around the whole building trying to find me anymore (hehe). Sooyoung has to learn how to go a little easier though. It’s not like there’s anything wrong with my ability to walk. Jessica may be a pain but she understands me more’

Tiffany skipped a few more pages

‘I was walking back from Jessica’s check-up again. She just doesn’t take no for an answer. Oh I found two lollipops from Sooyoung’s secret stash. I gave one to Tiffany one. Turned out she got my favourite flavour. So I stole it from her (kekeke). Her face was just priceless! Anyway, we went to the spring fair after that. A kind lady gave us a bleeding heart flower. The name sounds a little depressing… We’ll be able to see it bloom soon though. Hwaiting’

Tiffany smiled as she looked up at the flower

*It’s really pretty too* Tiffany commented in her head

‘Tiffany has a heart donor now! So excited but worried at the same time. Don’t think the worse, don’t think the worse, don’t think the worse. We visited Timmy again today. His food was great as usual. On the way home we stopped by the beach. How I miss playing on that beach. I wish I could do it soon again. Dear diary… I have a confession… this confession, if revealed, may break my friendship with Tiffany… I really don’t want to tell her… My confession is… Don’t worry diary. Taetoro will tell you next time’

Tiffany’s eyes immediate opened wide as she brought the diary closer to her eyes and reread the last few lines. She quickly skipped a few more pages and read on

‘She still thinks it’s a joke. Isn’t that funny? Well I’d like to keep it that way. At least we can remain friends. Oh, diary, I have to tell you about the bleeding hearts plant. One of its flowers bloomed. It is really daebak. It’s pink and is heart shaped. You have to see it to believe it. One of the most beautiful flowers I’ve ever seen!’

Tiffany frowned

*What was her confession?* Tiffany thought determinedly to herself

‘It’s a few more days until Tiffany’s surgery. My parents called me this morning. They asked me to spend some time with them. I really miss Hayeon and Oppa. They are rarely in the country. It hurts. I remember how lonely it was here, constantly finding Jessica and Sooyoung to chase away my loneliness. That’s all a thing of the past now. I have Tiffany beside me now. I must be really fortunate to have her with me. Once Tiffany starts her surgery I will pay my parents a visit.’

Just then Tiffany’s phone rang. Tiffany jumped with surprise as the diary dropped to the floor.

Tiffany grumbled to herself as she opened her phone

 

To: Tiffany

‘What do you think?’

From: Yuri

 

Tiffany scrolled through the list of photos when one caught her eye.

It was a simple silver bracelet yet she could see that it would fit Taeyeon’s wrist perfectly. Simple yet elegant. It was a must have for Tiffany

 

To: Yuri

Definitely this one

From: Tiffany

 

Tiffany sent the text message and smiled to herself

 

To: Tiffany

Well picked. I’ll bring it to you soon. Want something while I’m out?

From: Yuri

 

To: Yuri

Don’t wrap it. Buy a bear for me and put it around its neck or wrist (whichever fits).

From: Tiffany

 

To: Tiffany

Will do

From: Yuri

 

Tiffany then locked her phone and put it back into her pocket and then grabbed up the diary again.

*I really hope she comes back soon* Tiffany sighed as she stood up and put the book back on Taeyeon’s empty bed.

As she walked pass the window sill and onto her bed, the flower bud which had yet to bloom began to open ever so slightly.

 

 

“Yes thank you” Yuri bowed politely as she walked out the gift store with a bear in her arms

She then reached into her bag to bring out the box which contained the bracelet. She took the bracelet out of its box and measured it against the bear

It fit perfectly on its neck so Yuri decided to attach it there for Tiffany

“That is one lucky girl” Yuri chuckled as she held the bear up to the sun

“Oppa…”

Yuri heard a girl sobbing

“Oppa… where is unnie?” the girl sobbed again

This time a huskier voice answered

“Unnie is just going to rest a little… Don’t worry… She’ll be back soon”

Yuri put the bear down to look for the two who were conversing. On her left she saw a girl on a bench with a young male beside her. The girl was in tears and the male seemed very lost

Yuri decided to walk up to them and see if they needed help

“Are you guys looking for something?” Yuri asked slowly

The male looked up and stared into Yuri’s eyes

“We’re fine thank you” he sighed

Yuri raised her eyebrow as she gave him a questionable look

“Unnie…” the girl beside her started crying harder, using the back of her hand to wipe away her tears

Yuri’s heart ached as she saw the girl cry

“Are you okay?” Yuri asked the smaller girl

The girl looked up to Yuri with tearful eyes but then covered her eyes again with her hands and cried even more

“U-Unnie left Hayeon again. Hayeon still wants to play with Unnie” the girl sobbed

Yuri looked to the older male

“Our sister is just going to take a break. She will come and play with us soon” the male reassured as he patted the girl’s head

Yuri looked again at the tearful girl

“Here” Yuri suddenly said as she took the bracelet off the bear’s neck

She then patted the bear’s head before giving it to the girl

“Take it. It’s a little gift to cheer you up” Yuri smiled warmly to the girl

The girl looked up from her crying and stared at the bear, but she shook her head

“Unnie said to never take things from others” the girl sobbed innocently

“Thank you for offering” she added

Yuri blinked. Surprised that such a young little girl could be so polite

“Well aren’t you a good little girl” Yuri chuckled as she patted the girl’s head

“Her sister taught her well” the male chuckled

Yuri nodded

“Listen… I’m sure your unnie will be back soon. Older people get very tired these days. I’m also sure that she wouldn’t want you to be seen like this. You have to be a brave girl, dry your tears and wait patiently for her. Then you will truly be a good girl” Yuri said reassuringly

“Really?” the girl said hopefully

“Positive” Yuri answered proudly with a nod

The girl nodded proudly as well as she used her hand to wipe away her tears

The male beside her chuckled as he reached into his pocket to pull out tissues

“I’m sure Taeyeon wouldn’t want you to dirty yourself either” he chuckled

The girl nodded as she took the tissues and wiped herself

“Taeyeon?” Yuri suddenly said with her eyebrows raised

The male turned to the side and looked at Yuri confusingly

“Yeah… Taeyeon is my younger sister…” the male said slowly

“Taeyeon as in Kim Taeyeon?” Yuri asked curiously

“Yeah…” the male nodded slowly

Yuri’s face grew into a smile

“Nice to meet you Taeyeon’s brother. I’m a friend of Taeyeon’s friend… if that made sense. Kwon Yuri” Yuri questioned her own question

“A friend of Tiffany’s. It’s nice to meet you. I’m Taeyeon’s older brother… Ji Woong Kim” Ji Woong smiled warmly as he shook Yuri’s hand

“Taeyeon’s still around here? I thought she was visiting the family” Yuri asked curiously

Ji Woong chuckled

“She said she wanted to stay close to here, she we rented an apartment for a week here. Taeyeon has just gone home for a while. Hayeon is a little disheartened by that…” he said as nodded his head to Hayeon

Yuri looked down to see Hayeon throwing the tissue away into a nearby bin and walking back with a stern look on her face

“Hayeon. How about we go visit a friend of your unnie instead? I’m sure you will like her” Yuri suggested

Hayeon looked up at Yuri confusingly before she walked over to Ji Woong’s side and tugged on his hand

“Oppa… this unnie is breaking all the rules Taeyeon unnie set.” The girl whined

Yuri was taken aback at the girl’s bluntness

“Don’t worry Hayeon. I’ll be coming with you” Ji Woong chuckled

“So you guys want to visit Tiffany?” Yuri asked

Ji Woong nodded as he bent down to pick up Hayeon

“We need to thank her for looking after our sister. Isn’t that right Hayeon”

Hayeon nodded furiously

“Unnie said we must always thank others for looking after our family” she said proudly

Yuri’s heart melted at the girl’s innocence

 

 

 

“Tiffany. I brought something extra” Yuri called out as she entered the room

Tiffany was on her bed making some terrible paper cranes

“Ew. What’s that?” Yuri said with disgust as she pointed at the cranes

“They’re cranes, what else?” Tiffany said offensively

Yuri just rolled her eyes

“I brought a few visitors” Yuri smiled as she turned around

Ji Woong and Hayeon walked in

“You’re Taeyeon’s brother” Tiffany immediately gasped

Ji Woong chuckled

“And her younger sister, Hayeon” he said as he shifted Hayeon’s weight

“Annyeonghaesayo” Hayeon greeted formally

Tiffany’s heart melted

“She’s so adorable” Tiffany squealed

Hayeon moved back, a little scared of Tiffany’s reaction.

“Hayeon-ah. Do you want to come sit with unnie?” Tiffany offered as she patted the bed beside her

Hayeon shook her head

Yuri burst out into laughter when Tiffany’s face dropped into a pout

“Hayeon, Tiffany-shi is Taeyeon’s friend. I think you should be nicer to her” Ji Woong whispered to Hayeon

Hayeon shook her head

“She spent more time with Unnie than me” she said stubbornly

Tiffany was taken aback

“Hayeon rarely sees Taeyeon… She doesn’t really like anyone who’s friends with her” Ji Woong said apologetically

Tiffany just nodded and smiled sweetly

“Hayeon. Can unnie talk to you for a while?” Tiffany said calmly

Hayeon shook her head

“I’ve got a few lollies from Taeyeon. Do you want some?” Tiffany tried to bribe

Hayeon curiously turned her head towards Tiffany

Tiffany patted the seat beside her and held out her hand which contained lollies

Hayeon slowly went over to Tiffany’s side and sat stiffly

“Hayeon… why don’t you like Taeyeon’s friends?” Tiffany asked slowly

Hayeon just popped a lolly into and remained silent

“It’s rude to ignore others” Ji Woong warned

Hayeon sighed

“Because you get to see unnie more than I do. Unnnie probably likes you more too… All unnie does is tell me what to do and what not to do” Hayeon pouted

Tiffany giggled

“That’s not true. Taeyeon loves you a lot. I know it because she talks about you. As she just wants you to grow up as a mature and respectable woman” Tiffany explained

Hayeon still held her stubborn pout

“Here. How about I give you this. As a present so I can become your friend” Tiffany suggested as she took her Totoro bear and showed it to Hayeon

Tiffany could see Hayeon’s eyes light up brightly when she saw the plush toy but was trying hard to keep a hard attitude up

Tiffany smiled brightly as she put it into her hands

“What do you say Hayeon?” Ji Woong urged

“Thank you… Tiffany unnie…” Hayeon said nervously

Tiffany gave a squeal as she threw her arms around Hayeon and hugged her

“It’s like a mini Tae” Yuri chuckled

Tiffany nodded

“Oh, by the way. Taeyeon is coming back tomorrow right?” Tiffany turned her attention to Ji Woong

Ji Woong nodded

“Our family needs to get back to the States soon.” Ji Woong shrugged

Hayeon let out a huff

Just then Ji Woong’s phone rang

“Yeobosayo? Oh Taeyeon. Yes we’ll be coming back right now? Huh? Ice cream? Ara ara” Ji Woong rolled his eyes

“Hayeon-ah. Your unnie wants to play a game with you and she also wants some ice cream. Want to buy it for her?” Ji Woong said teasingly

Hayeon nodded furiously as she got off her bed and ran into Ji Woong’s arms

“Thank you Tiffany. For looking after my dongsaeng” Ji Woong bowed formally

“It’s okay really” said Tiffany as she waved her hands defensively

“They sure do look like their sister” Yuri sighed

Tiffany giggled

“A male Taeyeon, the normal Taeyeon and mini Taeyeon. A whole collection” Yuri chuckled

“Oh did you get it?” Tiffany quickly changed the subject

Yuri shook her head

“Nope” she said tiredly

Tiffany’s jaw dropped

Yuri then smirked at Tiffany as she pulled the bear form behind her

“Of course I got it” Yuri reassured

Tiffany let out a sigh of relief as she held the bear

“So you’re little date is tomorrow right?” Yuri asked curiously

Tiffany nodded

“Tomorrow” Tiffany squealed

Tomorrow, 9^th of March
