“Tiffany. Hurry we’re going to be late” Taeyeon called out from the road ahead of Tiffany

“Wait. I can’t catch up” Tiffany huffed as she bent over and tried to catch her breath

“Just a little further. Come. If we miss this I won’t forgive you” Taeyeon threatened as she turned around and started running over the hill, disappearing from Tiffany’s sight

Tiffany rolled her eyes as she started running up the hill. When she reached the top she saw Taeyeon already at the bottom, even purchasing some ice cream

“Hurry before I eat your ice cream” Taeyeon smiled dorkily as she gave a to both ice creams

*Where does she get this stamina?!* Tiffany thought to herself as she pushed herself even further

“Slow poke” Taeyeon teased once Tiffany reached the bottom

Tiffany just put her hand onto Taeyeon’s shoulder and was double bent as she closed her eyes and breathed in heavily

“You made me wait too long” Taeyeon chuckled

“Mianhe…” Tiffany huffed as she looked up.

As she did, something caught her eye.

In Taeyeon’s hands, instead of the ice creams, there was the bleeding heart flower.

“You made we wait too long” Taeyeon said again a little slower

Tiffany raised her eyebrow and stared at Taeyeon suspiciously

“My heart has waited for you for too long” Taeyeon whispered as she looked down at the plant

Tiffany followed her gaze to see the single flower starting to wither away.

“What’s wrong?” Tiffany asked curiously as she took a closer look at the flower

“You took too long…” Taeyeon replied glumly

“Why do you keep saying that?” Tiffany frowned as she looked into Taeyeon’s eyes

Taeyeon just gave a warming smile as she passed the pot plant to Tiffany.

“I can’t wait anymore Tiffany. I’m tired of waiting.” Taeyeon’s smile began to quiver

The single flower on the plant was withering away with a more rapid speed.

“What can’t you wait for? Taeyeon tell me what’s going in” Tiffany felt something inside begin to move faster

“I waited for yours” Taeyeon said as she pointed Tiffany’s chest where her heart was located

As Taeyeon’s finger touched Tiffany’s clothes the flower dropped from the stem and fell pass the pot and onto the floor. Tiffany looked up to see Taeyeon’s image slowly disappearing

“Where you going Taeyeon?!” Tiffany’s voice cracked

Taeyeon just gave a nervous smile and started waving. A lonesome tear escaped her left eye and slowly fell down her cheek. Taeyeon used her thumb to wipe away the tear and gave a sympathetic laugh

“It’s too late” Taeyeon said slowly before her image completely faded away

Tiffany dropped the pot and reached out to Taeyeon, trying to grab onto her, but all she grabbed was thin air. She looked down to see the pot still falling slowly as though time was slowed down.

“Taeyeon-ah! Don’t leave me!” Tiffany panicked as she looked around herself

She made a full turn and desperately tried to search for someone. To her realisation everything was starting to fade to white. The only thing that wasn’t was the bleeding hearts pot which was still falling dramatically slow towards the floor.

Then slowly, Tiffany saw a flash of colour on the plant. The flower bud which was right beside the withered one’s remains was beginning to bloom

Tiffany watched as she watched the flower bloom.

“It’s all too late…” A voice echoed

Tiffany fell to her knees and the pot began to fall at a normal speed, the smashing sound echoing into the nothingness.

“Taeyeon” Tiffany sobbed as everything disappeared, leaving her and the broken pot pieces and plant remains.

“Taeyeon…” Tiffany sobbed again

 

 

“Tiffany? Tiffany, are you okay?” Taeyeon’s voice suddenly rang through the white empty space

Tiffany felt her body shake a little.

“Tiffany… what’s wrong?” Taeyeon’s voice rang again

Tiffany’s body shook again. The broken pot began to turn black and spread through the white nothingness. With each shake Tiffany’s body took everything soon became black

Finally Tiffany felt herself blink a few times. Her vision getting blurry and unclear

She blinked a few more times as the head of a familiar person was situated in front of her.

“Are you okay?” the figure’s voice said with concern

Finally everything became clear enough for Tiffany to see. She was inside her hospital room with Taeyeon right in front of her with a worried expression on

Taeyeon gave a sigh of relief and hugged Tiffany

“You looked like you had a nightmare. Don’t worry it’s over now” Taeyeon reassured as she patted Tiffany’s back

As Tiffany’s cheek hit Taeyeon’s shoulder she felt something wet near her eye.

Tears.

“It was all a… dream…” Tiffany whispered unstably

“It’s over now” Taeyeon repeated as she stopped patting Tiffany’s back and began rubbing it to calm her down

Relief rushed through Tiffany’s body.

“Everything is alright now” Taeyeon continued

Tiffany felt a smile on her face as she moved her arms and wrapped them around Taeyeon’s body. Bringing her closer, enabling her to regain the familiar scent of Taeyeon and feel the warmth of her body

“You’re still here” Tiffany whispered as she tightened her grip

Taeyeon nodded on Tiffany’s shoulder

“I told you I’d be here when you wake up didn’t I?” chuckled Taeyeon

Tiffany just buried her head deeper into Taeyeon’s shoulders

The two remained in the hugging position for another minute before Taeyeon pulled away, feeling a little stiff. Tiffany reluctantly pulled away too, but felt much better knowing that everything was just a dream

“I heard you starting to murmur and then you started tossing and turning. I got really worried so I went up to you to find you in tears. Is everything alright? Are you worried about something?” Taeyeon said adoringly

Tiffany used her finger to wipe away the left over tears and just gave Taeyeon a small smile

“Just a little stressed that’s all” Tiffany chuckled

Taeyeon nodded as she patted Tiffany’s head

“It’s alright. I’m here if you ever need to talk”

Tiffany nodded as she checked the time

It was still early in the morning

“Sorry I woke you up” Tiffany mumbled softly

Taeyeon just shook her head slowly

“I was already up”

“So early?”

Taeyeon just shrugged

“Your operation is tomorrow right?” Taeyeon suddenly asked

“Oh right… yeah…” Tiffany said slowly

Taeyeon then flashed a guilty smile

“I won’t be able to be here for a while, so I can’t stay with you during the operation…” Taeyeon said slowly

Tiffany’s heart sank

“Why?!” Tiffany’s voice broke. “You’re alright aren’t you?! Nothing’s happening?!” Tiffany added quickly

Taeyeon’s eyes opened wide as she stared at Tiffany. Soon after though she started laughing out loud

“No need to panic” Taeyeon chuckled. “I’m going to visit my family for a while. They’re back in Korea for a short time and suggested I stay with them while they’re in Korea” Taeyeon explained patiently

Tiffany let out a sigh of relief but then her eyebrows furrowed

“When are you going?”

“I’ll go once you start your operation. I’ll be back after a week though. It will give you enough time to recover without me hassling you” Taeyeon smiled

Tiffany just nodded slowly

“Go back to sleep. You’re going to need to be healthy tomorrow” Taeyeon patted Tiffany’s head and pushed her slightly towards her pillow

Tiffany remained still and stared at Taeyeon intensely

“That means we won’t see each other for a week” Tiffany pouted

Taeyeon chuckled and nodded

“Don’t worry it’s just a week. I last three years without seeing you. I think you can last a week. Now go sleep before I tie you down to it” Taeyeon said as she slowly pushed Tiffany onto her back and pulled the blanket over her

“Love you” Taeyeon whispered

Tiffany nudged Taeyeon’s arm

“If you keep saying that I might actually believe you one day” Tiffany complained, thinking that Taeyeon was just joking around

Taeyeon just smiled contently and stuck her tongue out

“Saranghae” Taeyeon repeated

Tiffany frowned and turned her back around.

She used her hand to cover her chest; her heart was starting to beat faster.

From behind she could hear Taeyeon snickering to herself

*Pabo* Tiffany thought to herself as she closed her eyes tightly

 

 

 

“Ewww” Tiffany exclaimed as she pushed the bowl of porridge away. “I don’t like bird food”

Taeyeon, who was standing at their small table, turned her head around and raised her eyebrow

“Bird food?” Taeyeon questioned

Tiffany nodded stubbornly

Taeyeon put down the paper she was holding in her hand and walked over to Tiffany

“Here. I’ll feed you” Taeyeon said lowly as she grabbed the bowl and took a spoonful

She then held it up for Tiffany to eat

Tiffany shook her head

“No thank you” Tiffany said sternly and turned her head away

“Don’t make me force you again. Remember last time I tried to force you into something?” Taeyeon smirked

Tiffany stiffened

“But I don’t like that” Tiffany whined

“There are a lot of things we don’t like. Just eat this and then I’ll give you some sweets” Taeyeon bargained

Tiffany turned her head slowly and raised her eyebrow at Taeyeon

“Really?” Tiffany questioned

Taeyeon nodded her head as she pushed the spoon closer to Tiffany

Tiffany looked at the spoon. Her stomach began to turn as she looked at the porridge. Reluctantly and slowly though, she mechanically opened and Taeyeon fed her

Tiffany’s face scrunched up as she swallowed the food in

“Ergh” Tiffany exclaimed as she coughed up some of the porridge

Taeyeon chuckled at Tiffany’s reaction

“Be right back” Taeyeon smiled reassuringly as she left the room

Tiffany sat still as she waited for Taeyeon’s return, hoping Taeyeon would change her lunch

Taeyeon then came back with the same bowl of porridge. Tiffany’s heart sank rock bottom.

“Here” said Taeyeon as she scooped up the porridge and put it next to Tiffany’s mouth again.

Tiffany gave Taeyeon a pleading look

Taeyeon just shook her head sternly and motioned at the spoon again. Once again Tiffany slowly opened and allowed Taeyeon to feed her again.

This time though, there was something different about the porridge. It was rather sweet rather than bland.

Tiffany looked down at the bowl to see Taeyeon write a message in the porridge with honey

‘This better?’

Tiffany quickly looked up to look at Taeyeon

“Well?” Taeyeon said expectantly

Tiffany swallowed the food in and smiled

“Much better. Thanks” Tiffany answered happily

“I never really like porridge either. Honey makes it a lot better though” Taeyeon chuckled

Tiffany nodded eagerly

“I’m sure you can feed yourself now?” Taeyeon suggested

Tiffany shook her head

“You said you’d look after me remember?” Tiffany reminded

“Really? I don’t remember” Taeyeon raised her shoulders and shook her head

Tiffany felt the sides of her lips fall into a frown

Taeyeon gave a quick smirk and leaned in to kiss Tiffany’s lips

“Joking. Course I remember” Taeyeon chuckled

Tiffany was still left sitting still.

Taeyeon had been giving her random kisses out of nowhere but she still wasn’t used to it. She thought it was Taeyeon’s way of teasing her so never took it seriously

“How many times did I tell you not to do that?” Tiffany exclaimed as she slammed her hand against the bed

Taeyeon shrugged

“Lost count” Taeyeon said bluntly

Taeyeon then took up the spoon again and fed Tiffany. Tiffany refused

“Aw come on. I was just joking” Taeyeon whined as she put the spoon down

Tiffany shook her head

“Taeyeon?” Sooyoung’s voice rang through the room

Taeyeon looked back to see Sooyoung standing at the entrance

“Yes Sooyoung?” Taeyeon said innocently

Sooyoung nodded behind her as a tall male stepped from behind

“Your brother is here to pick you up” Sooyoung smiled softly

Taeyeon jumped off of Tiffany’s bed and hugged

“Ji Woong Oppa” Taeyeon said excitedly

Ji Woong chuckled huskily as he patted Taeyeon’s back

“You ready? Hayeon misses you” Ji Woong said as he pulled Taeyeon away and moved her bangs away from her eyes

“I thought you were coming later” Taeyeon pouted

“We wanted to see you as soon as possible though. We were hoping that you would’ve grown…” Ji Woong measured Taeyeon against him using his hand. His hand only hit below his shoulder.

Taeyeon slapped Ji Woong’s hand away

“Don’t expect the impossible” Taeyeon grumbled

Ji Woong laughed as he patted Taeyeon’s head

“Well let’s go” Ji Woong smiled as he started walking out

“Can you come back later this night? I’ve still got a few things to do here” Taeyeon interrupted

Ji Woong raised his eyebrow as he looked around the small room. His eye finally caught Tiffany who was sitting in her bed

“Oh sorry I didn’t realise someone was here” Ji Woong apologised and bowed to Tiffany

Tiffany just shook her hands defensively

“Oh no it’s okay.” Tiffany reassured

“So can you come by later Oppa?” Taeyeon asked

Ji Woong stared at Taeyeon confusingly

Taeyeon took her hands and made them into a cute paw as she put it underneath her chin. She then tilted her head to the side and used her aegyo

“Please Oppa” Taeyeon begged

Sooyoung on the side started choking up and Ji Woong backed away from Taeyeon

Tiffany just blinked three times as she saw Taeyeon’s aegyo

Ji Woong uncomfortably rubbed the back of his neck, obviously a little flustered

*Sister complex* Tiffany immediately thought. *Then again, who could resist that* Tiffany added as she titled her head to the side in thought

“Okay. 5pm sharp.” Ji Woong said sternly

“Thanks Oppa” Taeyeon smiled as she gave him another hug

Tiffany sat there silently as Sooyoung and Ji Woong exited the room, finally leaving her and Taeyeon alone again

“You didn’t have to stay you know” Tiffany interjected as soon as they were alone

Taeyeon just shrugged

“I said I will be mature and look after you till the operation and I’m sticking to that promise.” Taeyeon said with a nod

Tiffany felt a smile grow on her face

Taeyeon then approached Tiffany and sat beside her bed

“Two hours left until your operation huh?” Taeyeon suddenly sighed

Tiffany just nodded slowly

“Are you nervous?” Taeyeon asked

Tiffany shook her head

“I know that I’ll be fine after. I guarantee it.” Tiffany said confidently

Taeyeon chuckled

“Well I’m nervous for you”

Tiffany raised her eyebrow

Taeyeon turned her whole torso towards Tiffany

“When your operation is done and you’re okay remember to call me as soon as you can” Taeyeon stared intensely into Tiffany’s eyes

Tiffany blinked twice

“I won’t be able to stop worrying until I know you’re safe. So please call me when you’re okay” Taeyeon said seriously

“Ermmm… Sure, okay” Tiffany said confusingly

Taeyeon nodded approvingly as she grabbed Tiffany’s phone and put her number in

“I put it on speed dial. As SOON as you’re okay” Taeyeon emphasized

Tiffany giggled

“Yes Taeyeon. I will call you as soon as I can move my arms and use speed dial” Tiffany reassured

Taeyeon nodded and put the phone down

“For the last hour what do you want to do?” Taeyeon asked excitedly

Tiffany tilted her head to the side and shrugged

“Oh!” Taeyeon suddenly said as she quickly jumped up and went to their table.

Tiffany got off her bed and walked over to Taeyeon curiously

“Paper cranes” Taeyeon smiled as she held up some folding paper

“Paper cranes?” Tiffany raised her eyebrow

Taeyeon nodded

“They say that on the thousandth crane your wish will come true. We can cheat and just make it fifty” Taeyeon whispered cheekily

Tiffany smiled sideways at Taeyeon’s idea

“You know how to make one right?” Taeyeon asked

Tiffany just nodded as she took the pink piece of paper and folded it in half

“First one to fifty wins” Taeyeon cheered as she brought the paper to her bed and started folding

Tiffany stood there as she watched Taeyeon focus on folding the paper into cranes. Her heart began to feel warm and fuzzy

She looked at the time.

One hour left before she goes into her operation. One hour left before the two separate for a whole week. One hour before everything begins

One hour…
