Yerin had never once been this confused in her whole life. It was obvious that A.D. wanted to use Yoona but Jessica would never agree to it. Jessica was not Yerin’s enemy. She was her friend, her best friend. Nevertheless, she knew, quite well, that betraying A.D. was very much frightening than betraying her friend. Besides, Yerin was a witch, she did not need to feel guilty.

Jessica would lose her soul and become one of her fans. However, she would still be together with Yoona and Yerin would consider her as a friend. Everything would be fine. But the real problem was Yoo Jeongyeon.

“Are you feeling guilty?” A.D. asked.

They were A.D.’s hide out in the forest where witches hide.

“Guilty? No, I’m not! I was just thinking if I should also take Jeongyeon’s soul so that I can control her.”

“No.”

“Why not?” Yerin was very surprised because she had never seen A.D. refusing to take a soul.

“I don’t like the scent of her soul. It doesn’t smell very welcoming.”

“But I’m out of ideas on how to make her mine.”

“Fine! I’ll take her soul out for you, but you must find a way to bring her here tonight. I’m doing this tonight only.”

Yerin smiled. “Don’t worry. I have a perfect idea to lure her here. She won’t protest if her daughter is here.”

“What are you waiting for then?”

“Why are you always in too much of a hurry, Sunmi-yah?”

“I’m patient. I’ve been so patient that I have lived behind this mask for thousands of years. And don’t call me by my name again.”

“Arrasso. Arrasso. I’ll get going now.”

Yerin took her broom and left.

Yerin could not understand why A.D. hated her real name so much. She was also wearing that mask all the time, and it was not that she was ugly. Yerin had known A.D for quite a long time but she felt like she had many things she didn’t know about A.D.

Taeyeon was in her room, fighting with her inner devil Taeyeon who told her to find out what Jessica and Yoona were doing. Well, the inner Taeyeon won. She knew what she was about to do could hurt her bad, but she had to make sure Yoona was safe. She let Yoona live with Jessica, not die with her. She could not afford to have their souls lost.

Taeyeon remembered not having done this for many years, so she decided to try. Taeyeon closed her eyes and concentrated.

“We need to meet up with Yerin tonight.”

“Where?” Yoona asked.

“The place where they hide?”

“Where they hide?”

“Yes. They are witches and they hide in a forest. I was surprised because they invited you too. Maybe because we are a couple now.”

Taeyeon thought, ‘They got invited to A.D.’s hideout? This might be a trap!’ 

“Your Highness?”

Sunny entered, causing Taeyeon stop whatever she was doing.

“I’m sorry to disturb but I have a question.”

“What is it?”

“About Chaeyoung. That child, she really believes in magic. Her powers might appear one day. She has half royal wizard blood and half of Jeongyeon’s blood of which I don’t know what kind. I don’t think we will be able to stop her when the time comes.” Taeyeon looked at Sunny. The former tried to conceal her surprised expression.

“My Queen, I know Jeongyeon is not just an ordinary girl. She might be a mortal but she must be related to a magical creature. Not because she drank the magic potion by accident. She must have something.”

Sunny had unknowing proved Taeyeon, once again, how smart she was. Hearing what Sunny said, memories from the past came flowing back to Taeyeon.

FLASHBACK

“Taeyeon-ah, don’t be afraid. No one can punish us. You are the queen. We can go to the mortal world whenever we want. And your sister always comes her too, doesn’t she?”

“How do you know about my sister? You two have never met!”

“I don’t need to meet her to know about this. And she doesn’t need to know me.”

“Sunmi-yah, we can’t be here. Let’s go back. My sister is half-mortal, we aren’t. Monster hunters could have found us.”

“Are you afraid of them, Taeyeon? All they have are guns and some useless weapons.”

“We can’t hurt mortals.”

“You are the queen and you have the sceptre. You are the most powerful among magical creatures. But those meaningless rules make you no strong than normal wizards I come to meet every day.”

“Stop there!!”

The two girls turned to look at the owner of the voice and saw two mortals, a boy and a girl, pointing a gun at them. They both looked young, barely over twenty.

“My device is saying that you two are monsters!” the boy said, not lowering his gun.

Taeyeon was about to flash themselves to the wizard world when Sunmi suddenly said, “Do we look like monsters?”

Taeyeon sighed. “What are you doing? Let’s just leave quietly.”

“You can go first if you want. I’m gonna play with these mortals for a while.”

“No, you are not doing anything!” Taeyeon tried to pull Sunmi but the latter was faster than her.

Sunmi waved her wand and hypnotized the boy.

“Now, we can go.” With that, Sunmi flashed all three of them back to the wizard world.

Things happened too fast for Taeyeon to process anything. “What are you going to do to him? Why did you bring him here?!!”

“Clam down. I’ll send him back when I get bored of him. Look at him. Isn’t he cute? I’m tired of seeing the same old faces in this world. I want something new. And don’t worry you are not included in what I did today.” She disappeared with the boys after having said that.

After that day, Taeyeon hardly saw Sunmi in the wizard world. She was usually busy working at the palace. And when she finally had free time, Sunmi had things to take care of.

Taeyeon didn’t know what Sunmi was up to and it had been so long since she had heard about Sunmi and the boy. But one day, all of a sudden, she heard the news of Sunmi; the latter killed her wizard mother.

Taeyeon knew her friend had a different point of view compared with most people. But Sunmi was her friend. Of course she was worried. So without anyone knowing, Taeyeon left the palace and went out to find Sunmi. She traced Sunmi, using magic. Besides, she knew where Sunmi usually hides at, making the process a lot easier.

Usually, queens don’t go to the dark forest where witches live but she had to find her friend. She wanted to know what had happened.

“I came here in peace. I want to meet Sunmi. She is a friend of mine.”

“You are the queen. How could we believe that you came in peace?!”

“It’s okay.” Sunmi came out and said.

Taeyeon smelt two scents from Sunmi. “You are pregnant!! What did you do to that boy?”

“Love wares off witchcraft. He had gone back to his world and continued to be a monster hunter. And the baby inside me has to die.”

“What?! Why?!”

“I don’t care what kind of child this is. I don’t need this baby. Its father betrayed me and this child has to pay for it.”

“What about your mother? Why did you kill her?”

“Because she wanted me to give birth to this useless child.”

“Sunmi-yah, the baby is innocent. Let it live
