“You look happy today,” Yerin said, as she entered A.D’s room. The show was going to start in a few minutes.

A.D, while wearing the mask, asked, “What brings you here, my witch friend?”

“Look who’s talking, you wandless wizard or should I say a half-witch?”

“Seems like you are not in a mood to speak nice. Is it because last night was a moonless night?”

“No. for your information, it is because I failed to curse Jeongyeon’s family.”

“You failed?! Why?”

“In the first night, two wizards appeared suddenly while I was cursing Mrs. Yoo. I tried to curse the kid, too. Unfortunately, she ran away.”

“So you met two wizards?”

“Yeah. I think they noticed me while they were passing by. I had too much in my head that I forgot to cover my scent.”

“Well, then, it’s your fault. Let me guess. You don’t know how to communicate with children, and so you somehow scared the kid and she ran away from you. Am I right?”

“How the hell am I supposed to know the knack with children? I have been living here for centuries and never once did I have to babysit!” Yerin argued back, quite sarcastically, and earned a laughter from A.D.

“You are way too old, Yerin.”

“You are even older than me! You have lived for thousands of years, just like Jessica and her wizard girlfriend who remembers nothing about herself.”

“Yoona is a wizard, too?!”

“Yeah. She’s a gate keeper wizard.”

“That’s awesome! Does she have a wand?”

“No. Jessica said so. Taeyeon might have it.”

“The Queen?”

“Yes, the Queen. Could you please not ask questions you already know?”

“Calm down, Yerin. Yoona will be a great help on our plan. We can use her relationship with the Queen.”

“Jessica won’t let us do so. She doesn’t care about our plan at all. Besides, you know how sensitive she gets when it comes to Yoona.”

“Come on, we are two and she is only one. Well, she has a wizard girlfriend who doesn’t know her identity.”

“Are you telling me to betray my best friend?”

“Umm… that’s what witches are famous for. Have you forgotten?”

“I haven’t. I was just thinking…”

“Make your choice, Yerin. There are many foreigners coming to my show. I can turn them into your fans. Now, go get prepared. You need to look good when Jeongyeon apologizes you in front of the crowd.” On the words of A.D, Yerin left.

A.D was obviously nervous. What she was most excited about was the price that the audience has to pay for watching her magic. The payment was not money. It was their souls.

Yoona sent a message to Nayeon, informing she was there. Nayeon decided to make Yoona drink the love potion first, then Taeyeon.

“Mommy, who is Yoona?” little Chaeyoung asked.

“She is my omma,” Nayeon answered without much thought.

“Omma? But you called her unnie, didn’t you?”

“Oh, did I? I mean, she is my unnie. I just call her omma out of habit.”

Chaeyoung pointed to a bottle, filled with love potion. “Umm… then what is this thing, mommy?”

“That’s what I am going to give her.”

“Like a present?”

“No. I am just giving it to her.”

“Does she like drinking water?”

Nayeon, in her normal state, would have been angry at the ridiculously curious child, but she somehow is patient to the child for some unknown reasons. Maybe because the child is too cute for her to get angry at.

“I’m not sure. Doesn’t everybody likes drinking water?”

“Yeah, but if this is supposed to be a present, it should be packed well and beautifully.”

“Not all presents need to be given in packages, Chaengie.”

“Why not?”

“Because presents are packed when given as a surprise.”

“Why a surprise, tho?”

Well, maybe Nayeon was not that patient of a person, not even to cute children.

“Why don’t you ask that to Jeongyeon?”

Nayeon stopped talking on hearing a voice. “Oh, the dumb one is here.” It was Yerin.

“Let’s go, mommy.” Chaeyoung pulled her hand and said.

Chaeyoung looked so scared of Yerin and Nayeon wondered why. But she did not investigate further because the poor child was almost pale of terror.

Only when Yerin was no more around did Nayeon ask her, “What’s wrong, Chaengie? Have you seen that woman before? Tell me.”

“That woman is a scary witch, mommy.”

“I know, sweetie. She acts like a witch, doesn’t she? Did she hurt you?”

“No, mommy. She is a real witch.”

“How do you know that she is a real witch?”

“My bracelet told me,” Chaeyoung said, showing Nayeon her bracelet.

Nayeon thought, ‘Wait a minute… does the bracelet protect her? How could that be? She is not a magical being, let alone a wizard. It can’t be true.”

“Are you sure the bracelet said that?” Chaeyoung nodded at Nayeon. “Listen, Chaeyoung-ah. You can’t tell anyone about this, alright? This is our little secret.”

‘I am not sure she is a wizard or not yet. I need help, from Sunny-emo or Sooyoung-emo, maybe from mommy, too. The bracelet protects wizards and wizards only. If she is really a wizard, Jeongyeon or her wife must be a wizard. Or could it be that her wife Momo is the Momo I know?’

“By the way, mommy, I don’t remember who give this bracelet to me.”

“It’s okay. The person must have given it to you because you hold a special meaning to him or her.”

“Can’t I tell omma about this, too?”

“No. she won’t believe you.”

“Why wouldn-”

“No more whys, honey.”

“I got it, mommy. I love you.”

Nayeon kissed the child’s cheek. How she wished this child to be her own.

The duo then went on looking for Yoona at the backstage.

“Yoona-unnie!!” Nayeon shouted, as soon as she saw Yoona to get the latter’s attention.

“Hey!” Yoona came to them and gave Nayeon a warm hug. “Who is this kid?” she asked.

Nayeon decided to lie to Yoona since she didn’t remember a thing anyway.

“She is Chaeyoung, my daughter.”

“Daughter? You have a daughter?”

“Yeah. Sorry I didn’t tell you in advance.”

“I saw it in the news.” Yoona said but Nayeon could see the unbelieving look in the elder’s eyes.

“Oh, unnie, drink this.” Nayeon gave her the bottle.

“Thanks, but I’m not thirsty.”

“We need to drink water to stay hydrated, Yoona-emo.”

“What a bright kid! I do drink a lot of water, kid. I’m just not thirsty right now.”

“Yoon, this ice-cream is very good!” A girl holding an ice-cream cone arrived.

‘Ice-cream!!! I have to go get on- no, no. get a hold of yourself, Im Nayeon. You are on a mission currently. Ah, isn’t that one Jessica?’

“Umm, Nayeon-ah, this is my girlfriend, Jessica. Jessica, my sister Nayeon.”

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Nayeon-ssi.” Jessica held her hand out but Nayeon was just looking at it.

She was upset because she had heard about everything from Taeyeon. But seeing them together in real thing was a whole new level of pain.

“Nayeon-ah, is something wrong?”

‘Something wrong? Of course there is something wrong! You left omma and me for some woman who doesn’t even know how to enjoy an ice-cream properly.’

“Please tell me you didn’t say she is your girlfriend, unnie.”

“But I did. She is my girlfriend.”

Nayeon looked at Yoona in the eyes. She could not believe her mommy did that to her.

“Na- Nayeon-ah, why are you crying?” Nayeon was hugging Yoona and crying. Yoona, on the other hand, was caught off guard.

‘I need you, mommy. Omma needs you, too. And you left us for this kind of person?’ But Nayeon could not get those words out. She had no choice but to swallow them back.

“Hey, why are you crying so much?” Yoona was patting Nayeon’s back and asking.

“Maybe mommy is sad because Yoona-emo has a girlfriend.”

“Oh, right. She wants you to get back together with my wicked cousin.” Jessica said.

“She is not wicked.” Nayeon said through her gritted teeth.

“Listen, kid. You don’t know what kind of a creature Kim Taeyeon is. You will be shocked to find out.”

“What do you mean by creature, Jessica?”

“Nothing. I was just telling her the truth. Taeyeon is using your sister to win your heart back.”

Nayeon clenched her fists tightly. ‘If I had a wand, I would have already transformed her into a toad or something. Oh wait, I forgot the spell for that. But I can’t stand anyone calling mommy wicked.”

“Nayeon-ah, I have already found out the truth. Taeyeon and I were nothing. I loved Jessica all the way from the start. I don’t know what Taeyeon did to make us apart.”

“Wait, you and omm- Taeyeon-unnie were nothing?”

“Yes. So you should stop believing her lies. Besides, your Yoona-unnie doesn’t want to remember her past in which she had suffered a lot.” Yerin got to where they were.

“Nayeon-ah, I hope you will be happy of me and Jessica. And I won’t stop you from seeing Taeyeon. You can be friends with her if you want, but let me live with Jessica. I have waited for a long time to be with her.”

There went Nayeon’s heart, scattered to pieces and crushed to dust. She thought such a person did not deserve her mommy.

“I hate you Im Yoona!” she snatched the water bottle in Yoona’s hand and ran away. She was having a regret. She should have listened to her mommy.

“Let’s go, Chaeyoung.” The two were about to leave when Yerin suddenly said, “Tell Taeyeon that if she continues to be stubborn and act this way, there will be a war.”

Nayeon thought, ‘My mother is with a witch?! No way. She hates them. Yah, Im Nayeon! Don’t think about her. She abandoned you and mommy.’

“Slow down, mommy!” she realized, by then, that she was walking way too fast.

“Mianhae.” Nayeon stopped.

“It’s okay. Here, take a drink.” Chaeyoung handed the water.

Nayeon took it and drank the whole bottle.

Oh well, she then noticed that she had drunk the whole bottle of what she wasn’t supposed to even make, not to mention drink.

Sunny and Sooyoung were in the backyard. They weren’t exactly on good terms. Sunny was reading a book, her leg swinging.

“Can you stop swinging that leg of yours?”

“I’m concentrating.”

“Concentrating? Do you really think I would buy that? We have known each other for a long time!”

Sunny sighed and closed the book. “I’m worried.”

Sooyoung knew what she meant. “Me too.”

“It is our fault if something goes wrong.” Sunny said.

“No. it’s yours.” Sooyoung earned a glare from Sunny.
