12:58 pm: In The Golden Afternoon
Grad NightThe sun momentarily blinds me as I finally wake up. I look around, take note of Jongins curled up body beside mine and realize we are, as I expected, in some find of pit. But Jongin was right, there are flowers everywhere. Varying shades of pinks, yellows and purples, the smell in the air isn’t intensely floral but slightly sweet. It’s a perfectly picturesque scene, Jongin rolls into his back, his lumps splayed our. He looks like a plant photosynthesizing, a crushed Matilija Poppy on his cheek, the papery petals shower his golden skin like white snow. I don’t want to wake him up. I want to sit and paint a picture of him sleeping amongst the flowers with the sunlight softly shining on him, but a lady bug us crawling precariously close to Jongin’s nostril so I shake him lightly “Jongin” I call to him.
Normally it takes me a while to get him awake, but today he just gently flutters his eyes open, yawns and brushes away the petals from his face. He just stares at me for a minute, blinking away the harshness of the bright light around us. And for some reason, looking at Jongins messy hair, tangled with flowers and grass, his missing shoe and his chapped lips, I feel incredibly overwhelmed by how beautiful he is. “Jongin I have to tell you something” I say, my voice firm and determined
“What is it?” He looks me directly in the eye, his brown eyes look like pools of honey
“Jongin I love you.” I let out a sigh “I’m in love with you and have been for a while now. And it’s about time I told you.” I finish, still staring into his eyes.
Jongin cracks a small smile, doesn’t say a word as he leans into me and kisses me tenderly on the lips. There’s no tongue or any groping, it’s a light kiss, still passionate but not aggressively so. It’s the slight vulnerability we both feel that keeps the kiss soft.
Someone clearing their throat in front of us, brings me and Jongin back to earth. We look up to see an awkward, and kind of sleepy looking guy with a park ranger uniform on. His name tag says ‘Yixing’
“Uh I have to pick up garbage.” He tells us
Me and Jongin exchange a look, take each other’s hands, get up and walk out the pit. The ranger yells a thank you at us.
“Where to now?” I ask
Jongin gives me another gentle smile “Lets go home Sehun”
THE END! Thanks for reading this weird story!
