It was pretty much impossible. I just couldn't close my eyes and fall asleep despite the fact that the bed was huge, I had more pillows and blankets than I needed and it was extremely soft and wonderful. It felt like this bed was newly bought and I started to wonder if it really was since none of the guys were asleep.

I let out the heaviest sigh of my life and a extremely long one before I gave up and sat up and stared into the dark. It was completely quiet in my ears, nothing could be heard, nothing wanted to be heard and probably, if I was a vampire I would probably hear everything that the guys would hear.

I got out of bed as I changed clothes into more comfortable ones. I had long soft pants in black along with my white tanktop and a black sweater. I was letting my hair loose, believing that the guys would probably not be up, well not up as in up but they would be in their own rooms now right?

I opened the door quietly, and stared into the long and dark hallway on the second floor. Completely quiet

I went outside the room and slowly and quietly made my walk down the hall. It was extremely cold now when I felt myself getting goosebumps. My hair was standing up and I was more than thankful to myself that I socks on.
I wasn't really sure where I was going but.. I was more than curious to explore the mansion. After all, it was huge

There was no sign of the guys anywhere and I started to wonder if it was rude of me to wander around like this.

I opened the first door that was onto the right of the hallway and I soon found myself standing in Yunho's room. It was extremely neat and clean. As if everything was very organized well.

There was no bed but a huge sofa and a flat screen tv on the wall. I guess vampires likes television as well huh..

I closed the door and spun around and kept walking down the hallway.

During my little tour on the second floor I found nothing special. Yoochun's room was full of music equipments. Seems like he was really devoted to music while Junsu had several laptops and also a keyboard. Changmin on the other hand had loads of stuff, computer, flatscreen, ps3, xbox and everything that a 12 year old kid would want.

JaeJoong's room was already familiar with me so I decided to pass his room. I started also to wonder where the guys could have gone since it was extremely quiet, way to quiet if you ask me. At least there would be any lights on or at least anything that would give me the sign of someone being in this mansion at the same time as me..

I walked down the staircase and soon found myself standing in the livingroom, sneakily looking around. The guys wasn't present

I started to find it weird that they weren't here and I also started to feel a bit nervous. Where were they?

I started wander around the house more comfortably and ended up being in the kitchen. I opened the fridge only to find nothing in it. It was.. empty.

"Yumi?"

I almost tripped over when the voice scared me and Changmin was fast with getting over to where I was standing, catching me before falling down onto the floor

He helped me up afterwards and looked at me confused

"Why are you awake? You should be sleeping.." He said

"I couldn't fall asleep" I mumbled

"Oh.. you're hungry or something?" He asked

"No No.. I.."

"Just say it. Don't be shy" He smiled

"I just couldn't fall asleep. The tiredness just won't let me be tired"

"Ahh~"

We walked out of the kitchen and into the livingroom and Changmin was quick with getting the fire started. When he was finished, I felt the livingroom getting a little warmer and Changmin then sat down on the couch and let out a sigh

"Where were you?" I asked

"Huh? What do you mean?"

"I'm sorry if I was rude.. but I started to uhm.. open all the doors upstairs.. and I saw all of your bedrooms. None of you were in it. I then got down here and still no sign of you guys.. where were you?" I asked again

Changmin chuckled

"Oh.. We don't sleep"

"Yeah JaeJoong mentioned that"

"Yes.. so we uhm.. hunt"

"Oh.. OH..." I said, my mouth forming into an O

"Yeah.." Changmin said a bit embarrassed

"So.. the rest of the guys.. are.."

"Yeah they are.. I finished pretty quick so I'm here" He smiled

"But there's no.. stains or anything on your clothes" I said and looked at his clothes

"Well uh... that takes practice. It's easier to hunt if we're able to come back clean, in the same way when we started to hunt. In that way no one will notice or be suspicious about anything" Changmin said

I nodded

"You should have seen me in the beginning. It looked like I had been playing in mud, rolling around in the woods" He said, starting to laugh

I joined in as well but was a bit unsure. This was extremely weird if you ask me

"Do you find it.. uncomfortable.. with the fact that we're not human beings? That we're supernatural creatures.. if we can put it in that way?" Changmin suddenly asked, breaking the atmosphere that was joyful just a minute ago

I took a deep breath, not knowing the answer for the question

"Are you scared?" He asked

I swallowed hard

"I can't say I'm not cause in a way I am. I don't really understand the deep meaning of the consequences of being here but if I think more deeply about it. It must hurt you a lot huh?"

"Hurt me? How?"

"You can hear my heart beat.. I'm sure you can hear anything. Feel.. and smell the blood of mine.. and yet I'm.. still alive. I mean.. you can kill me if you want to" I said, getting goosebumps just by whispering the last sentence

Changmin nodded in agreement

"Yes.. but.. we're not monsters.. We don't kill people. We did do it in the beginning.. but it was centuries ago. It was that period of time.. when it was uncontrollable. We didn't know" Changmin explained

"So you haven't killed any humans for the last centuries?" I asked

"Exactly. Deep down inside.. we're still human somehow. Being more human gives us also the feelings of being human. Feeling what humans can feel. In that way, we're not capable of killing humans so easily. But our thirst must be under control before being around humans" Changmin said

I nodded

"It requires a lot of practice and strength huh?" I asked

"More than you can imagine.. It took me almost 30 years before I managed it"

"How long did it take for JaeJoong?" I asked

"Jae Hyung? I don't know. I've never really asked him. To tell you the truth, he was the one who taught us everything. He was there, helping us all the time" Changmin said

Both of us quieten as JaeJoong appeared as a topic. I started to wonder if my curiosity would cause any harm to JaeJoong. After all I was just trying to get to know him.

"Did JaeJoong mention.. how he was turned?" I asked

Changmin scratched the back of his head and took a deep breath

"Now when I think about it.. he might have mentioned it once but it was very dim. He didn't tell me so detailed about it. I've never.. asked him about it" He answered

"Is it sensitive to him?"

"I don't know" Changmin said honestly

I took a deep breath as I started to think about it. If he hadn't told Changmin, I started to wonder if he had told any of the other guys. Not only did that seem suspicous but it was as if he was trying to bury it deep, deep inside his heart cause it didn't seem like he wanted to remember it

"Being a vampire.. how does your brain work? Your eyes..your memories?"

"Well.. it lies in our nature to hunt, to kill. But since we're trying to retain the human feelings we once had, and keep being around human beings it sort of mixes up our brains. It's half-half depending on how strong you are. We cannot deny our nature but we cannot ignore our feelings as well"

"So you're able to feel? To..... love?" I asked slowly

Changmin chuckled

"We're not completely animals. We're in human body shaped with a mixed sense of both animal and human. Love is the strongest feelings human has, as well as vampires. It's also the strongest feeling of keeping the feelings of being human. Our memories gets more clear when we're turned into vampires. We remember everything. Every detail, there's nothing that we can miss out, depending how observant and attentive we are. When I was a human, my memory was pretty much dim. Humans can only remember the strongest points in that paticular memory while we can remember everything. It depends on how much it affected you. As for an example, first love. First love is something that we can never forget, mostly because it was the first time someone managed to make our hearts beat faster, emotions that we've never felt before was felt and so on. As for vampires, we're suppose to see through everything, remember, analyze and observe" Changmin explained

"So.. do you remember.. the first time.. you fed on a human?" I asked

Changmin's smile disappeared and his eyes became dark as his body became heavy. Seems like it wasn't an easy task to talk about it

"It was a... girl. In her early 20's I believe. I remember my brain analyzing her moves, listening to her heartbeats that was racing. She was so.. frightened you know" Changmin said and looked at me

I looked back at him. Regret was displayed in his eyes as he was remembering it

"I remember analyzing her.. as if she was a .. fox.. or something. My teeth was hurting badly and my throat was burning up as I felt the urge of my body wanting to every little drop of blood out of here. I could just feel it you know, imagine the warmth of her blood that was so fresh and.. how good it would be to just destroy her skin and burst through it with my teeth and drink it.."

It sounded so horrible when he was talking about it. He was devastated and not did only regret display there now, he was frustrated and he was confessing that he had murdered someone

"I had no choice. I had no control. My senses took over and after an hour when I was finished, draining her blood out of her body I looked down on it. Disgusted by it, by myself but there was no way of stopping me"

"Until JaeJoong came"

He nodded

"They .. was more than welcoming to me. They took care of me and tried their best to help me. It took us years yes, but effort pays off. Here I am now"

"So you feed on animal blood but not on human?" I asked

"Exactly. Well except for emergencies" He shrugged

"What kind of?" I asked

"Anything that would threaten our peace and our safety" He said

"There's actually someone who would do that? You have enemies?" I asked

"Well .. I don't know much about it but.. just like an eagle and a fish, which are natural enemies, vampires has natural enemis too. We've never seen a werewolf, maybe JaeJoong did once but we've lived peacefully over the centuries. It's more if there's an vampire that is roaming around and killing people around us.. That would cost us everything we've built up here, we do not want any trouble. Just live peacefully" He smiled

"So what do you .. do.. when you don't sleep?"

He chuckled

"We tend to think a lot. Reflect on our mistakes. We read.. we study. We play around.. Sometimes we.. go hunt and compete who's the quickest in killing and drinking. We travel a lot" He shrugged

"Study?"

Changmin started to laugh

"You have no idea how many times we've graduated from High School and so on" Changmin laughed

"You went to college?" I asked

"Yup. I've done everything. JaeJoong is an educated doctor as well as police agent. Yunho is an educated attorney. He can be a politican as well if he wants too. He has the... 'it' in order to become an politican" Changmin smiled

"What about Junsu and Yoochun?"

"Junsu used to be in the marines. He was one of the top 5 marines in the army. He's progamer and he could be developing games if he wants too. Yoochun is smart, he's a businessman. He has a way of doing business, marketing, selling and such" He said

"And you?"

"Dentist" He said and smiled widely in order to show his teeth

I started to laugh

"And we speak at least 5 languages each fluently. We have lots of time.. to read.. and study" He chuckled

"Wow" I mumbled

"Yup"

"So when you were drawing me at the library, you were just playing around right? You already knew the answers to the hand-out that we received right?" I asked

Changmin nodded happily

"I was bored" He laughed

"You're too much Changmin ah~!" I said and started to laugh even more

Suddenly he laugh stopped and Changmin looked behind himself

"They're back" He smiled

I didn't hear a thing and there wasn't even the sound of a door closing. But soon enough JaeJoong, Junsu, Yunho and Yoochun entered while laughing but they stopped as soon as they saw me awake

"You're not sleeping?" Junsu asked and jumped all the way from the doorway over to the couch and smiled at me

"Wow?" I gasped

He chuckled

"Why aren't you sleeping? you're not tired?" JaeJoong asked worriedly and looked at me

"I was having the most interesting conversation ever with Changmin right here" I smiled

"She wasn't able to fall asleep. I finished quickly so I went back and saw her wandering around in the livingroom" He said

The guys nodded

"Hungry? I can go and make something for you" JaeJoong said

I looked at him a bit surprised

"You.. cook?" I asked a bit dumbfounded

All the guys burst out into laughter and so did JaeJoong

"What?" I asked

"Yes.. I cook. But this is the first time in many years" He said

"But your fridge is empty"

The laugh became even more loudly than earlier

"She's been looking around" Yoochun said

I rolled my eyes

"I was bored.. and bored" I shrugged

"I'll go and buy something" Junsu said

"I'll join him. We'll be back in 15 minutes" Yoochun said

"But it takes.."

I didn't have time to finish my sentence before they were gone and I couldn't help but to stare at the guys who started to laugh at me

"You're unbelievable"
