Chapter 15
ForeseeChapter 15,
11:48.
I-I didn't know what was going on. Why was Sejong on the bus with me? I shove myself back from him and stare at him in disbelief, how did he-no why did he?
I obviously knew he knew exactly where to be during this moment, but why would he want to be? Did he decide he had enough of his ability as well?
The time ticks to 11:49. Two minutes until I'd die.
"Sejong, what are you doing here?" I ask him quickly.
"I knew you'd choose this option that's why." He shrugs.
"So you decided to come along despite knowing what'll happen?" I ask as the bus slows to a stop at a stoplight a couple blocks down from when we got on.
He ignores my question momentarily, glancing behind him at the time. 11:50. "I came along knowing the accident wouldn't happen."
My eyebrows furrow together in confusion. "What? What do you mean?"
He laughs. "No matter what option you chose I wasn't going to let the accident happen."
I squint at him. "What is going on, Sejong?"
He points his finger behind at the time that read 11:51. "The accident, it isn't going to happen. Never was. I stopped it."
Suddenly anger burrows in my chest. "What the hell did you do?"
He sighs shaking his head. "I saved your life, like I said I would."
"No you just ruined my life!" I shove his shoulders back. "Now I'll be a Monster for the rest of my life."
Sejong sighs. "I'm sorry Taeran, I couldn't not save you. I couldn't save your brother, did you think I would just sit idly by and let you die as well?"
I can't believe him? He-I can't even begin to express how angry I am. I glance at the time and sure enough the time had moved from 11:51 the time in which I was supposed to die to 11:52.
The bus slows to a stop at another bus stop and I shove past Sejong to get off the bus. There was no point of being on it anymore. I drop down on the bench at the bus stop and slam my head back against the wall. Sejong of course follows me off the bus and sits beside me.
"How'd you do it?" I ask him not even sparing him a glance. "How'd you stop it from happening?"
He snorts. "It was easy, all I had to do was inform the bus company of that particular bus' faulty breaks and lucky for me it didn't take much convincing. They decommissioned the actual bus you got on in my dream and replaced it with another for the time being."
I frown. "I bet you're estatic at all the people you saved because of me." Afterall he was only using me for his own self-glory.
"No, I'm happy as long as you live. I owe you so much because I couldn't save Hyunmin and for passing the ability on to you in the first place." He sighs resting a hand on my knee. "I'm sorry, Taeran."
I go to reply but a woman sits down beside me and I go to jerk away but last second I realize it's Lee Minah.
"Oh hey guys. I'm surprised to see you two here?" She says, I glance down at how her thigh rested against mine and how I wasn't drug into a vision like I usually was with her. I didn't see the man shoving her down the stairs. I didn't see anything.
"We actually ran into each other coincidentally." Sejong interrupts, eyeing me when he notices the contact between the two of us.
"I see, oh there's my bus." She stands. "I'll see you guy's at school then?"
"See you!" Sejong waves goodbye to her and I manage to mutter a goodbye before she's boarded and the bus takes off.
I immediately turn to Sejong. "I didn't see her die Sejong. I-I'm going to die next to her now aren't I?"
Sejong sighs, "Unfortunately my ability only sees one of your deaths so I can't confirm anything for you."
I quickly stand, "Sejong I'm going to have to get far away from here."
He stands as well. "I can understand why you'd want to. I'll probably be leaving this town now that I've saved you. You can come with me if you want."
I nod, it may be my best option even though I was undeniably so angry with him I could kill him. He ruined everything afterall.
A group of business men flood around us and Sejong moves to shield me from bumping into them but he fails in doing so. I back right into one of them and I noticeably don't see anything again. My shock from this causes me to bump into another man and again find I can't see anything.
"Sejong?" I murmur.
"Huh?" He asks once he's pushed me fully behind him.
"I didn't see anything with them either?" I whisper only loud enough for him to hear.
He whips around. "Really?" To which I nod, what was going on? Did I actually die on the bus? Am I dead? Why wasn't I seeing anything?
Another bus pulls up to the stop and the men pile on but also a familiar face jumps off frantically
