“What if I was just a rebound or a pawn to make her move on from her past?” I asked Eunha who was writing documents 

“What made you think so?” She didn’t raise her head when answering but just continued doing her work

“I don’t know. It just suddenly cross my mind because she said that she still haven’t gotten over her past” I shrugged my shoulders at the thought of the look of her yesterday that come across my mind

She dropped her pen and raised her head then took of her eyeglasses “Why? Have you fallen already?”

“No. At least not yet. And I’m afraid to fall knowing thats she still haven’t gotten over her and I would just get up getting hurt in the end” I always stopped myself from falling for someone by distancing myself from them because I’m too afraid to get hurt in the end or that both of us would get crushed by the problem

“Answer this Hwang, Do you think all the happy couple out there didn’t go through hard times?” I stared at her for a while and I hesitantly shook my head. She snapped her finger and stood up from her chair when she saw my response

“Exactly. That’s the essence of love and that’s how it works, everybody is bound to get hurt by it because if you haven’t gotten hurt during the process then I doubt it was true love that you were feeling” Hare face were a few inches apart from mine and she was dead serious in what she was saying.

I couldn’t move my body like it became frozen in that spot until she suddenly chuckled then leaned away from me making me confused and kept blinking my eyes nonstop

“You really have no idea what is love don’t you?” She walked towards the door and I stopped her when she grabbed the knob by asking her what does she mean that everybody is bound to get hurt

She nodded and turned around in my direction with both of her hands clasped together

“It means that every couple out there had gone through tough times that would either made them stronger or would tore them apart. No relationship is as smooth as you think even if you think they’re perfect. You can’t achieve eternity with the person you love if you hadn’t gone through obstacles and you didn’t overcome those hindrances in your relationship” I was left in a daze on what Eunha said because I haven’t thought that she could be this kind of person when it comes with love. I haven’t seen her date ever since high school but I’ve heard she has one now... I haven’t seen her since she was always busy with work and has always been overseas so I’m doubting that they would last long but basing on what Eunha just said, I guess she was able to say those words because she—they—have experienced it

“Oh and Hwang, kindly tell Sojung that she’ll work with another model for this season. The new model would arrive in two days from her photoshoot in California” I saw glee and excitement in her face and I haven’t seen that face of hers when it comes to models or partners of our company

“And who is that model that made you so excited?” I asked with a teasing tone and surprisingly, her face turned bright red which made me laugh and that’s when I know who it was she was talking about... it was the person she’s been in a relationship for a year already, Yuju.

I didn’t wait for her answer and just walked towards her and opened the door to go out first

Sojung messaged me that she wanted some company in the mall and even if I didn’t want to, I agreed since I had nothing to do at all because Eunha said the photoshoot would resume in two days, when the new model slash the person she’s in a relationship with would arrive

Sojung bought a yellow off-shoulder sundress and a sun hat like she was going to a beach. She asked me how it looked on her and I got speechless and mesmerized when I saw her open the door of the fitting room she was in

I haven’t seen anyone this perfect in my entire life...

I haven’t seen anyone make my world turned into a slow motion and make the people around us go invisible by just seeing her

I have worked already with many models and she’s the only one that made me feel like my heart would burst out any moment just by looking at her

She snapped her finger and kept waving her hand in front of my face to catch my attention and I shook my head to get out the thoughts that were in my mind just now

“How do I look?” She smiled and raised one of her legs as she hold the side of the dress

I wasn’t answered because I couldn’t utter any word because she looked so... stunning and perfect...

“I’m asking you” she pouted and whined at my silence

“Y-you l-look... stunning” Those words where the ones that left my mouth and I would agree in that again and again if I have to

“Okay, I’ll take it then?” She gave me a sweet smile and went back inside the fitting room to get changed

After buying her clothes, we went to a shake drink shop that was on the third floor of the building

She ordered chocolate hazelnut flavored shake and mine was a cookies and cream flavored one

I was about to hand my money to the cashier but she held wrapped her hand onto my hand and pulled it down to my side

She let go of my hand when it reached my side and smiled at me while handing her money to the cashier

“What are you doing?” I asked with my eyebrows furrowed

“It’s the least I can do for you since you did accompany me for today” my face soften when I saw her smiling at me and heard her soft voice

I just nodded my head in defeat and because why not? I guess it’s been a long time ever since someone gave me a free stuff

We sat down at the farthest table on the most left part side of the shop and we really haven’t talked ever since we sat since I really still don’t know what to say to her

And the thought of what Eunha told me a while ago come across my mind so I told her all about it and she just simply nodded 

I thought she would get angry because she was the first one we offered with and nobody told her that there was someone else to model along with her but I was wrong, she didn’t disagree nor got angry by the fact that there was onother model other than her

She wasn’t an arrogant person and she doesn’t think of herself that she should always be at the top and the only one but she was in fact a down to earth person despite of the fame and success she have achieved...

“What’s the other model’s name?” She asked as she took the last sip of her shake

I looked at her and took out my phone and clicked a photo and glided my phone to her

Her face suddenly stiffen up and her hands started to tremble as she was holding the phone

“W-what’s wrong?” I asked as I leaned closer to her. She looked at me with her eyes trembling and her breathing as unusual

“I-it’s her... the one I was talking about” her voice could be barely heard and it was shaking, every word she utters were shaking

And it snapped to me when she gave back the phone and said “Choi Yuna... also known as Yuju... it’s her... the first love I was talking about”

I stood up and sat beside her and squished her hand to calm her down because she was having a mental breakdown. Like she was scared to face Yuju again... like she was about to cry...

She looked at me with her teary eyes and gave me a bittersweet smile “She... she chose her career rather than me... that’s why we broke up... I begged her so many times to stay but she didn’t even look nor talked to me before she left... and I know it’s stupid—I’m stupid—for not being to be able to move on in the three years we have broken up...”

I don’t know why she was suddenly telling all of those to me but I got scared. Scared what she would feel and how would she react if she knew that Yuju has already someone else in her life... and that’s none other than the director of the company she’s currently modeling for
