“So, what did you do to make the one and only Kim Sojung, aka your wife, agree to be our model?” Eunha says with her arms crossed as she watch Sojung get her make-up done

“I don’t know. Guess it’s the one of the perks of me being her wife” I said as I clean the lense of my camera that I was holding

Eunha turned her body to face me and gave me an amused look “Tell me. Did you use the wife card to her?” I looked at her and I suddenly remembered our deal about our marriage

“No. She was the one who used it to me” Eunha chuckled, a mocking laugh, like she wasn’t buying it. Well even for me, I wouldn’t believe what I was saying because no one would think that Sojung would be the one to use that card towards me

I stared at her, waiting if she would believe it but she didn’t so I left out a deep sigh and said “The contract she signed isn’t just for the modeling one. It’s also a contract for our marriage”

“What?” She said with her eyes furrowed and I could tell that she had more question in mind other than that simple ‘what’

“She said she’ll only sign that if I agree to give us a chance for one month—until the end of the modeling contract—and if we didn’t still work, she’ll agree with the divorce”

“And you agreed? That’s very unusual with the persistent Sinb I know” It’s true, that’s very different from my usual self. I would always persist the things I want until I get it but it’s the only way I thought that she would be signing the contract

“I don’t think she would be signing it if I didn’t agree with her condition. I saw her schedule and reminders at her house, and saw that there were many brands waiting for her respond if she would model with them. She wouldn’t lose anything if she didn’t choose us. We would be the one who will lose the key to have higher sales” I looked at Sojung’s direction who was already standing up from her place and looked at me with a smile on her face

“You have a point. Many companies are fighting to have her as their model and I guess you did a great job in making that decision” Eunha tapped my shoulder and pushed me forward making me glare at her but she just had a grin on her face

“Go, your wife is waiting for you to take photos of her. And I would just be here watching you two”

The photoshoot for today has ended already and I must say that now I know why companies are fighting to have Sojung as a model

She had this strong and charismatic aura during the shoot. Her facial expression was always on point, she knows which angle looks the best, and what killed me the most was her killer smile

All photos taken can all be used for the advertisements for the summer collection of Galaxy clothing line because all had the impact and charisma to lure and catch people’s attention

I knocked at the door where she was changing and she told me to come in and saw her tying up her hair into a bun and she was wearing a loose gray and white sweatshirt and a short at the bottom

“Have you always liked wearing that kind of outfit? I mean that clothes is exactly the type of clothes you were wearing in your house” I scanned her from head to toe

“It’s comfortable to wear than other outfits. For me” She shrugged and grabbed her sling bag on the chair beside her

“I guess so...” There was an awkward silence after I said that since I didn’t know why I even came here and why I checked up on her

“So... why are you here?” She cut off the silence and asked the question that was on my mind

I fidget my fingers and I couldn’t have eye contact with her until I found something to reply to her question “Ahh... I just wanted to say that you did a great job a while ago”

A smile on her face crept in when she heard what I said “Glad that you think that and I had fun being you as the photographer”

“I bet you say that to every photographer you have worked with” I leaned on the side door and smirked

She smiled and looked on the ground but quickly turned her head back to me “Guess I got caught with that. I usually say that since I really do have fun in having a photoshoot”

“In short, modeling is your passion” she nodded slowly and walked closer to me

“And yours is photography I guess? Since you won’t be doing that if you don’t like it and I’ve seen how you looked like while capturing photos of me. It’s a look of someone who loves what she was doing” I looked at her eyes and tilted my head with amusement and I must say that she exactly said what I wanted to hear about me being a photographer

“Anyway, shall we go?” She said as she walk past through me and stopped when she was already ahead of me

Both of Sojung and I were walking towards the exit of the building and I suddenly had an idea to cut off the silence we were having during the walk

“Have you heard about the game two truths and a lie?” I asked as I look at her face which looked back to me

“Of course. What about it?”

“Let’s play it. You know? To get to know something from each other” She nodded and she looked pleased with the idea of playing the game

“Sure. Who’ll start first? Me or you? I think it’s better if it was you who start since you proposed the game” I simply nodded and started to think what I should say and it took a longer time since I basically have no idea what to say

I snapped my finger up in the air and said “I know now what to say” she looked at me and nodded then said to me to go ahead because her ears were all on me

“Hmm... first, I never have fallen in love. Second, I love going to parties. And third... I want our marriage to end as soon as the contract ends” Her smiling face suddenly turned into a frown when she heard the third one but immediately brushed off that expression when she shook her head and crossed her left arm in front of her chest and placed her elbows on it to put her index finger on her chin to pretend that she was trying to think hard

She raised her index finger up in the air and enthusiastically said “The lie is the first one isn’t it?”

I scrunched my face and slowly shook it and she had this confused expression when I told her it was wrong

“Don’t tell me it’s the second one...” she said and I just smiled and nodded

“But you were having fun when I first met you. You looked like a person who’s fond of going to parties” she chuckled making me embarrassed because she was completely wrong. That person who was having fun was probably my drunk self and not me

“Actually, I just went there since it was my best friend, Yerin’s birthday party and I don’t like those kinds of events since the venue will smell like alcohol and you would see people doing their sorts of stuff” I said with a look in disgust and she just shrugged at what I said

“So you haven’t fallen in love? Like ever?”

I nodded my head to agree and replied something to make her stop to further ask why because I would just simply say that I haven’t felt that feeling like ever “I’m already done. So it’s your turn to say two truths and a lie”

She nodded and only took seconds before to say it, pretty sure she have thought about it while I had a long time thinking about mine “I’ll make it easy for you”

“First, Both of my parents dies when I was only ten. Second, I’m over my first love slash ex and even though it was hard to move in, I managed to do it. And lastly, I’m lonely and despite of the smile I’m giving to people there’s a pain behind that smiling mask”

When I heard all the three things she said, I was shocked because I never thought that those things to happen with her specially the last one so I answered that the lie was the third one but she smiled at me and slowly shook her head

And there, when she smiled, I saw the pain that she was talking about. I saw someone lonely and was just pretending to be okay despite of the pain she was feeling inside

“You looked pretty shocked that the third one was a truth. I’ve been keeping a mask for a long time already, lost count of how many years that mask was on me” Pain was inevitable in her voice as she speak

I wasn’t saying anything because it was still processing in my head so she continued speaking “The lie is the second one if you’re wondering. But who knows? I might be able to move on in this one month of our contract” she looked at me with that bitter smile 

“Who... was she?...” My heart was beating rapidly and nervously while waiting for the answer with my question

She stopped walking and pressed the car key button and opened her car door. I didn’t even noticed that we already arrived at the parking lot of the building

She entered her car and looked at me with a smile on her face before closing the door her driving away leaving me awe struck at her sudden confession bout her life  “Let’s just say... that she’s also a photographer like you but... she also models sometimes and we’ve met during the high school days of my life”
