Jiwoo is in a crowd of people, all in fancy suit and dresses holding a glass of wine trying her best to not cringe at the taste. She wasn’t a wine person. And she definitely wasn’t a rich person so she felt super out of place and she was a 100 per cent sure that she stuck out.

She had borrowed a black long sleeved dress with a low back that ended just above her knees. It hugged her figure nicely and Somin had winked at her and told her she looked y. Jiwoo had smacked her friend and rolled her eyes.

“Hey, are you here with someone?”

Jiwoo’s train of thoughts are cut off and she looks up at the source of the voice.

“Yeah…” she trails as she examines the tall, skinny boy with bloned hair and round glasses.

“Oh, who is the luck guy?”

“That would be me so I’d appreciate if you back away from my girl Jae”, Matthew says as he approaches Jiwoo and Jae.

Jae laughs and steps away from Jiwoo.

Jiwoo feels her face heat up at the mention of “my girl”.

“Oh, look you made her blush by being possessive”, Jae says with another laugh.

“Stop teasing her Jae”, Matthew says as he places his hand around her shoulder and pulls her closer to him.

She is still blushing and Jae is still laughing at her.

She feels so embarrassed that she clutches onto Matthew’s coat and hides her face into his chest.

“How cute”, Jae says.

“I think that is quiet enough”, Matthew says with a laugh and tightens his grip around her shoulder.

“I’m just glad that you are moving on”

“Let’s not talk about that”

“She is here, you know”

“Of course”

What are they talking about?

“With her husband and everything”, Jae adds.

“Why wouldn’t she be with her husband?”

Was that a hint of bitterness in his voice?

“We should really leave the matter of the past in the past”, Matthew says as he lets go of Jiwoo.

She takes that moment to separate herself from Matthew as she had been clinging onto him for dear life.

“This is Jiwoo, by the way”

“Hi! I’m Jae and I’m sorry for teasing you, I couldn’t help myself”, Jae says and offers her his hand.

“It’s ok…nice to meet you too”, she takes his hand and they shake.

“You are beautiful”

Jiwoo blushes again.

“Right, I think it’s time for you to leave”, Matthew says and shoves Jae away who is still laughing as he walks away.

“Sorry about him, he doesn’t mean any harm though”
