''I'll just pretend that I'm okay.''

Today, Sehun decided he’d talk to Jisoo, not about his feelings (NEVER about his feelings); talking to her would be the best possible way to divert her interest from Kai because he really wanted Jisoo to end up with a nice guy if not himself. He was very sure about the fact that Jisoo never saw him as someone else other than a friend; well, he barely talked to her anyways but today, he was very confident about talking to her, starting conversations like Jisoo always did so the silence doesn’t get awkward.

He took a deep breath when he saw her walking into the classroom with her ever so stunning smile that caught his heart nine years ago. He remembered how Jimin had scolded him and said it was his entire fault that Jisoo started dating someone like Jongin, over the phone last night. Sehun thought so too; if only he had confessed his feelings to her some time before his step-brother asked her out, he’d be the one to receive all those smiles; get to be the one to be around her. Nevertheless, he had to make up for what he had done and so he had been preparing himself all morning to at least have a decent conversation with her.

“Sehun!” He heard Jisoo’s cute voice that dragged him out of his thoughts and an automatic smile graced his lips when she came to his view.

“Hey,” He mumbled, looking everywhere but at her.

“I had trouble doing math homework last night. I wanted to call you,” She started talking while fixing her desk and taking out her books.

“You should’ve had done that then,” Sehun said. The fact that Jisoo did need him for something warmed his heart, even if it was math homework.

“It was too late already. Plus, I wasn’t in a good mood either.”

“Why? Because of how hard the problems were?” Sehun didn’t know where those words were really coming from but he realized it wasn’t difficult to talk to her; it never was in the first place but he was too blind to notice.

“No, brother yelled at me last night.” Sehun nodded, knowing the very reason why she was yelled at. “What’s so wrong with dating Kai?” she mumbled loud enough for him to hear.

“Want to know?” Sehun asked, voicing out his thoughts with all his courage.

Jisoo snapped her head towards him and threw a suspicious look; Sehun never talked to her like he was doing now, he was even asking questions which she thought he was totally incapable of doing. “What?”

“Want to know why he scolded you about Kai?" Sehun said in a louder voice, "Why Chanyeol and Jinri continuously warns you about him?"

"Huh?"

Jisoo looked confused and that face made her even more adorable. Sehun didn't know where all that courage came from to talk to her and ask her stuffs, but he knew he wouldn't be able to keep it up for long, especially when Jisoo was looking at him like that.

"Never mind," He mumbled and turned back to his opened book, pretending to read it. 

The first class that morning was Chemistry and Sehun knew he wouldn't even recieve a glance from Jisoo in that class since Chemistry was her favourite. Her grades in Chemistry were totally opposite of Chanyeol's because he kind of failed in every Chemistry exam. Sehun was somewhere in the middle; his grades were average in all the subjects except for Math in which he was known to ace all the time.

Jisoo, however, had less knowledge about the whole school than all her friends did and therefore, Sehun thought, she had missed out on all the news about Kai. Kai really was the most popular kid in the whole school because of his playboy type attitude and that fact was really hard to miss. He wondered why Jisoo didn't know about those but he really wanted to show her why every of
