“Anyway, why did you choose journalism, Yoo Si Jin-ssi?”

Mo Yeon finally stopped laughing when she felt her cheeks getting warmer.

“Sorry, it’s a bit out of topic but I’m just curious.”

He let out a small sigh before he started to answer.

“Well, you maybe know that I come from a military family..as my dad is a retired soldier and my hyung is an active soldier who’s on duty right now.”

She nodded.

“mmmm, how to say this, but I’m not interested with that one at all, my hyung already followed my dad, so as the other man in the family, I wanted to try another field.”

“But why journalism? It’s not a common subject especially for the boys in our school, usually, they wanted to be a scientist or just ordinary workers in the big company.”

He smiled warmly to her before continuing his answer.

“Wah Kang Mo Yeon-ssi, you really sound like a true journalist, asking me with that kind of question haha. Well anyway, I know that most of my friends pursuing those careers but since I was a kid, I already fell in love with journalism, I like the fact that there’s this line of work where I can tell the stories of people who don't have the opportunity to do so alone, and Journalists have a responsibility to the public by not just informing them, but also by giving them a chance to talk about real issues that affect them. Isn’t it great?”

Kang Mo Yeon, you fell in love with a right guy, he’s so aw.. aw… awesome, ne??

Mo Yeon told herself.

“That’s amazing Yoo Si Jin-ssi.”

“Then, how about you? Why did you choose this one?”

Mo Yeon was silent for a while before she told him her reason.

“Because I love writing, but unlike my mom who loves writing fiction, I like writing about some facts that maybe not a lot of people know about it. I want to be able to tell the stories that often go unheard of or often get ignored.”

She stopped for a while before she looked up to the orange sky above them.

“And above all, I want to give a voice to the people that feel like they have no voice at all.” She continued.

Yoo Si Jin felt something warm in his heart when he heard Mo Yeon’s side of the story.

Something that he’d never felt before, for the past 18 years of his life.

Why suddenly my heart feels so warm? Is it because of her?
