DiveHyerin stared at her phone for a long time. She thought she had no problem with Daniel meeting other girls but why was it so hard to text him about the double date? The sun had already set, Hyunah had gone home for a while now reminding Hyerin one last time about the double date and assured her that the guy she was going to introduce was a catch. Hyerin was now lying on her bed, in the dark. The only source of light was the phone in her hands that was displaying her lock screen of her selfie with Daniel taken long ago when they decided to go to the theme park together for the summer break fresh out of high school. Another source of light came from Daniel's room, who had the curtains drawn.
Hyerin glanced at his window before continuing her staring contest with her phone. Only when her phone decided to sleep, plunging her into immediate darkness, did Hyerin's finger seem to move into action. She unlocked her phone and typed in a text message.
To: Daniel
Message: Hey, Da~ Ni~ El~ Do you want to go on a blind date?
Hyerin hit the send button before she could change her mind and forced her eyes away from the phone screen. Not even a minute after she sent the message a reply beeped into her phone. She hurriedly looked down on her phone again. Her eyes took their time focusing on the letters that Daniel had replied with.
From: Daniel
Message: Not interested!
Before Hyerin could register anything, another message came in from Daniel.
From: Daniel
Message: Go to sleep! It's late, you have class tomorrow! Good night!
Somehow Hyerin felt a sort of warm tingling relief in her chest as she read the message over and over. She wasn't even going to try and coax Daniel, knowing how hard-headed he was and in a few minutes Hyerin drifted off to a nice, comforting sleep.

"Sorry, Hyunah, my neighbour said no to the double date" Hyerin said with fake misery in her voice because inside she was feeling relieved, but she felt a little bit guilty seeing Hyunah's disappointed face.
