“Jisoo, how was your da—“

“Where is Kim Taehyung?” Jisoo burst into Namjoon’s cubicle breathlessly.

Namjoon and Yoongi exchanged a quizzical look. “He didn’t come into work today. I’m pretty sure he has a programming assignment for his computer science class that he wanted to get done before this weekend.”

She huffed. “Fine, I guess he’s off the hook for now. But, you two… I need you to tell me the truth.”

Namjoon was awfully confused. He couldn’t play dumb for long. “What’s going on? Did something happen?”

“Oh, don’t act like you didn’t give Park Jinyoung a black eye and that broken arm that he was sporting at Myungwol today. I know all of you guys were involved.” Jisoo retorted.

“Actually, it was Jennie’s idea.” Yoongi smirked.

“What? Are you serious?” Jisoo groaned. She told the girls, especially Jennie, to leave Jinyoung alone.

“Jennie talked to me about doing something about Jinyoung since he’s a piece of for what he did. This was before Taehyung found out. So last night we confronted Jinyoung, with Taehyung doing most of the talking and punching. Afterwards Jennie, Rose, and Lisa called us to ask how it went. They were pretty happy with the outcome.” Yoongi explained.

“Since when do you and Jennie talk?” Jisoo narrowed her eyes. Inwardly, she was shocked that Taehyung was the one to give the beating. He was still cold towards her, so his sudden protectiveness sent her mixed signals.

“We don’t! I mean, we don’t talk. She and I just happened to agree that something should be done about Jinyoung. I don’t see the big deal.” Yoongi turned away quickly.

Namjoon rolled his eyes. “Right, you guys don’t ‘talk’ outside of work. But you’ll grab food late at night just the two of you and I sometimes see you eavesdropping on her conversations with Rose about how single and in need of she is because decent men don’t exist.”

Yoongi shot out of his seat. “I really don’t know what you’re talking about! Jesus, Namjoon!”

“First, I have to deal with Jungkook coming over to our place to hang out with Lisa all the time. Then, Rose and Jimin have been texting non-stop since you guys came to Incra. Now, I’m going to have to hear you and Jennie ing two rooms down from mine? This is absolutely insane. You’re not supposed to have romantic relations with your co-workers.” Jisoo ranted.

Namjoon tilted his head at her. “Isn’t it hypocritical you would tell Yoongi that when it’s no secret that you and Taehyung obviously have some unresolved ?”

Jisoo’s face turned bright red. “You two are delusional. He’s mean to me and takes pleasure in one-upping me constantly.” The thought of with Taehyung—the man who rattles her to her very core—was just too bizarre. Or at least that’s what she told herself while she couldn’t help but think about his habit of darting out his tongue to his lips. It was an image that was in the back of her mind these past couple of days.

“Jisoo, I swear nothing is going on—“ Yoongi shook his head, bringing Jisoo back to reality.

“Yet. Nothing is going on yet. But when it does, treat her well. She’s secretly the most sensitive even though she’s tough as nails most of the time.” Jisoo sighed. She couldn’t help but be protective of Jennie. Jennie had been hurt badly in the past, so she swore off relationships and had with no strings attached instead.

“So we have finalized the details of the first mission.” Namjoon changed the topic and Yoongi sighed in relief.

“Good. I researched Kim Joonmyun. He has quite the resume. I’m curious to see how we’re gonna pull this off.”

“Joonmyun is the leader of EXO. He goes by the name of Suho when he conducts gang-related business, according to what Taehyung told us. But, Joonmyun doesn’t exactly call all the shots. There is a man who works solely in private and is careful to not be seen in public. He’s mentored every single member of EXO—and Taehyung. They refer to him as ‘Boss,’ but we were able to find out that his real name is Park Kihoon. He’s shrouded in mystery, but I think that he has the real power, not EXO.”

“So we can’t just target Kihoon right away. We’re going to start smaller, then? But Joonmyun is still such a well-sought after man. There’s going to be a lot of eyes on me if I interact with him.”

Jisoo replied to Namjoon.

“Suho is beloved because he’s a bachelor icon. He’s never had a girlfriend and he’s really shy and timid when it comes to women. He does dabble in the ion ring to take care of his… needs. But, he’s often complained that they aren’t smart enough to catch his eye.”

“Did you get all this information from Taehyung? You’re making it seem like Joonmyun doesn’t have balls. I kinda feel bad for the guy.”

“That’s only concerning his lack of interest in romance, though. Suho’s earned his leader spot from being ruthless and cunning as a gang member. He’s known to torture anyone who disobeys him. That often leads to death if he grows tired of you resisting.” Yoongi said.

He sounded very similar to Taehyung, except that Joonmyun willingly tricked the entire country into falling in love with his ‘innocence.’ Jisoo was getting the sneaking suspicion that Taehyung probably did not like Joonmyun. Was Joonmyun the reason he left EXO? Or did Kihoon kick his out?

“Are the rest of the members as psychotic?” Jisoo asked.

“Quite so. Kihoon is very removed from the violence of it all. He’s motivated by money and power and doesn’t care what means it takes to keep making a ludicrous amount of profit at the expense of others’ lives.”

“So what’s the first mission?” Jisoo would feel sick if she heard more details of their crimes. Park Kihoon needed to be stopped.

“Ryu Corporation is having a company Halloween party this Saturday night. Jisoo, this will be the perfect opportunity to crash it. Everyone will be in costume so it will be slightly easier to blend in. We’ve decided to bring Rose in on the mission to help. She’ll be your eyes and ears so you’ll know when and where to go to infiltrate.”

“Infiltrate what exactly?”

“We need you to get into the real party—the party for EXO.”

Jisoo’s eyes widened. “So you want me to act as one of their little es to get access?”

“Well… If it gets to that point, then yes. Are you okay with that?” Namjoon seemed thoroughly uncomfortable.

“Of course I am. I’m a spy, we have to do what we need to do.” Really, she didn’t mind. The job came with dirtier parts.

“Escorts are hired by the company to entertain their employees at Ryu’s party, and some women are brought into EXO’s underground celebration if they want to have more fun with them. That should make it slightly easier. The second party could lead to violence if you guys aren’t careful enough with what you say. They are criminals, after all.”

“All I need to do is act dumb and easy. I’ve done it before at Samuel Kim’s party in LA.” Jisoo said.

“If you’re trying to get chummy with Joonmyun, I’d suggest acting smart to catch his eye.” Namjoon suggested.

“But if I act too smart, he might suspect something. It’s okay though, I’ll figure it out once I get there.” Jisoo said.

“Awesome. Is there anything else you needed to know?” Namjoon asked?

“Well… I don’t know if it’s my place to ask why Taehyung isn’t in EXO anymore.” Jisoo squirmed.

Namjoon and Yoongi exchanged looks. “Taehyung left. They let him leave, but said they would kill him if he ever tried to meddle in their gang affairs. Joonmyun grew to hate Taehyung because Kihoon loved Taehyung like his own son. He was always jealous that he was Kihoon’s second favorite.”

“Does Taehyung have parents?”

“Not that we know of. Kihoon was basically the father figure in his life and shaped him throughout his teenage years.”

“There are a lot of emotions involved in this. No wonder Taehyung can’t get directly involved. But I could put his life in jeopardy if I make one wrong move.”

Yoongi smiled, which was rare. “Taehyung may be a piece of to you sometimes, but he believes in you more than any other agent here. The talent you have doesn’t come around very often in the spy world. He wouldn’t have anyone else take on such an important mission.”

Jisoo nodded. She would be lying if she said her heart wasn’t beating faster.

Two days later and it was Halloween.

Jisoo and Rose were outside the venue. Rose’s hands were shaking. Jisoo put her hands over hers. “It’s going to be alright.”

It was weird seeing Rose in blonde hair. She was dressed up as Harley Quinn, which surprisingly suited her. Jisoo figured Jennie would have looked the part, but Rose was more playful. This was their first mission working together, so Rose didn’t want to disappoint Jisoo.

“You’re right. Let’s go.” Rose winked at her.

Jisoo was dressed as Catwoman. She had a mask on and dressed in a skin tight black suit would attract male attention while allowing her to blend in anonymously. Lots of women would be dressed as cats.

Namjoon had a lot of helpful information that allowed them to get in. There was a phrase that EXO’s escorts had to mention at the door and they would be granted access into any event that involved the gang. The company party would be no different.
