They were always acquaintances--nothing more, nothing less. But this time, they were rivals--vying for the better voice.

No voice is perfect, however. It trembles, falls, and regains strength. 

This time, she could not find strength in her voice. The voice was dead.

All because of him--this man she found indirect solace in whenever she just took a mere glance at his being.

She wasn't sure he felt the same comfort in her being.

But she prayed and hoped it was so.
