Superwoman (Possibility one)

The Odds of Us

Minzy groaned at the throbbing pain streaming across her forehead. Cursing herself for drinking so much, she did her best to ignore the beams of sunlight hitting her face. But the battle was lost as she found her eyes fluttering open and in doing so began to take in surroundings. Grateful she had made it to her living room, she continued to glance around and suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around her. Startled, she looked to see that she was entangled with a stranger. Hissing at her stupidity, she gazed up to find the face to the owner of the arms wrapped around her fast asleep. Staring at the stranger's sleeping state, she couldn't help but find him strikingly handsome. Insomuch so, her hands acted on instinct, reaching up to trace the outline of his face. It was as if his face was sculpted so perfectly. The thought of him possibly being in a boyband crossed her mind, which made her giggle like a teenage fan girl. During her exploration, small pieces of last night's adventures flashed in her mind. Leaning forward, she kissed his cheek and thanked him for the night before as she got up.

A small shiver ran down her spine from the chill of escaping his warm embrace, subconsciously wrapping her arms across her chest she made her way to her room. Minzy showered and got dressed before making her way out quietly. Returning just as quiet, she placed a coffee and muffin on the coffee table next to the still sleeping man. She thought it only right to treat him with a small breakfast for what she shamelessly put him through. Shaking her head, she found a paper and wrote a note before taking her coffee in hand to take her leave.

Placing a pair of dark shades over her eyes, she put on her ear buds to play her music. Sipping on her coffee, she aimlessly made her way down the streets of Seoul. She couldn't remember the last time she had taken a random stroll like this. Mindlessly she found herself at a train station, buying a ticket she took a seat at an unoccupied bench. Closing her eyes as she listened to a sweet melody playing in her ears. Feeling the ground rumble beneath her feet, she opened her eyes and watched the train approaching. Grinning to herself, she quietly made her way onto the train. Taking an empty seat next to the window, she leaned her head onto the cool glass and closed her eyes again, wanting to take a small nap before reaching her destination.

Minzy awoke to the tapping on her hand. As she slowly came to, she realized that she was no longer leaning onto the window but on someone's shoulder. It was only the beginning of her embarassment as her gaze fell upon her hand that was intertwined with the person beside her. The person didn't seem to mind as she sat frozen while the owner of the hand and shoulder only squeezed her hand again. Taking courage, she slowly lifted her head and with her free hand pulled out her ear bud ready to explain herself. But to her surprise, the owner of the hand and shoulder was none other than the sleeping man she left in her apartment earlier.

"This is the last stop," he smiled brightly at her. "We better get off before they come over to kick us off," he continued, helping her up onto her feet. Bewildered, she followed him off the train and onto the platform. She didn't know what was going on as she stood beside him. "Where are we going," he asked.

"Uh..." she was still recovering from her nap to really respond. "I was going to take a taxi..."

"Alright let's go," he chimed in as he guided her towards the nearest taxi.

Minzy stumbled forward as she then realized her hand was still intertwined with his, "Wait where are we going?"

"To the taxi like you said silly," he chuckled as he opened the door for her before he went around to the other side. She was so confused at what was going on with this person and quickly told the cab driver the directions in hopes to leave before the guy could get in. But it was a lost cause as he jumped in, "Someone is in a hurry to leave."

She inwardly cursed herself as she crossed her hands across her chest. She didn't want to have another awkward moment with this stranger if she were to accidently let her guard down again. As she sat quietly to herself, she pretended to fall back asleep as she tried to think of a way to escape this stranger who was turning into some kind of creepy stalker.

"This can't be real," the man next to her called her attention as the cab came to a stop. Ignoring his comment, she paid the taxi driver as she made her way out of the cab. She took quick strides as she made her way towards her destination. This was the only option she could think of as she raced towards the farm. Biting down on her lower lip as her name was being called out by the stalker she picked up her pace. Targeting the market outside the farm, she smirked as she inched closer to it. But before she could reach it, she was swiftly pulled back. Such force caught her off guard as she stumbled back and into the creepy stalker's embrace. Luckily he was like a strong wall that held them both in place before they lost their balance and she was truly grateful for that.

"Why are you following me," she grumbled as she turned in his arms to glare up at him. "I don't know who you are..."

"Mino," a voice boomed causing both of them to follow where the voice thundered. There stood a broad tall man with a stern look on his face, "What are you doing here?"

Minzy slowly turned to the man who took her hand in his before wrapping his arm arm around her waist to pull her close to him, "What, I can't come and visit my own home?"

Minzy's jaw nearly fell off of the hinges as she gazed at the beautiful farm land before them, shocked and in awe at the revelation. Meanwhile the stern man pursed his lips tightly as if holding back some words. Sighing he stepped to the side, "Mother is inside the house."

Mino intertwined his hand with hers and nodded slightly as he marched forward with her quietly. She did her best to keep up with him and noticed that his demeanor had changed. He seemed to be more stiff and distant, especially when they stood at the front door. Standing quietly beside the young man, she could see the battle playing across his mind. She didn't know what had come over her as she gave his hand a gentle squeeze to grab his attention. Nodding up at him she gave him a bright smile, "We got this!"

Matching her smile he nodded back, "We got this." Opening the door, he led them both into a beautiful yet modest home. "Mom," he called out as he walked further into the house. "Mom..."

"Mino," a woman's voice answered with a woman appearing seconds later. "Mino," the woman gasped before racing towards him. Embracing him tightly the woman began to cry, "My son came back to me!"

Minzy was so touched as she watched the woman cry into Mino's chest. She grinned as his mother reached up and cupped his face so lovingly. Watching Mino return the loving gaze as he brushed her stray tears away, he leaned down to plant a gentle kiss on top of his mother's forehead. "Yes mom I'm back."

"How," she continued to cry. "I have been praying for you to come back home to me," she said as she hugged her son tightly.

He chuckled as he held his mom in his arms, "I didn't intend to, but..." Mino's gaze shifted towards Minzy. "She led me back."

His mother suddenly pulled away and looked to see a young woman standing there, "Oh my, how rude of me! Mino introduce me to this lovely young woman here."

Minzy bowed respectfully feeling a bit uneasy that she had interrupted such a happy moment, "Oh no please. It's rude of me to intrude on you reuniting with your son."

Mino moved to stand by Minzy and smiled as he took her hand in his, "Mother this is Minzy. The woman who brought me back to you."

His mother teasingly hit him on the arm as she scolded him, "You should have come to me on your own!" Shaking her head she approached Minzy and cupped her face, "Nice to meet you dear. I go by Momma." Minzy felt as if the older woman was looking into the depths of her soul. But it was in such a loving way, as if giving her the look of acceptance and love. It was in the moment when the old woman hugged her that she felt it. She was such a foreign feeling as she hesitantly hugged the woman. "Thank you for bringing my son home. You're an answer to my prayers," the old woman whispered to her as she held her tight.

Minzy bit back the tears that threatened to escape. She knew she shouldn't be accepting such credit, but her selfishness overwhelmed her. It had been such a long time since she's felt such loving and accepting arms like the old woman before her. "No thank you. You've raised such an amazing son."

The old woman pulled away grinning, "I know and when you give me grandbabies I will raise them to be even better!"

"Okay that's enough mom," Mino cut in as he pulled his mother away in embarassment.

"What? I can talk about such things with my future daughter if I choose to," his mother winked at Minzy which made both women laugh as Mino blushed a bright red.

"Mom please," he begged for her to stop. "This is too much."

She wacked her son on the arm again, "No leaving me was too much. Now if I have grandbabies I wouldn't..."

was quickly covered by Mino as he shook his head, "Minzy would you like to go to the market?"

Minzy giggled as she watched Mino's mother mumble against her son's hand, "I'd love to."

Minzy couldn't help but notice her hand intertwining with Mino's yet again as she was being whisked away. Chuckling as she waved back at Mino's mom who continued to call after them about how many grandbabies she was wanting, it wasn't as funny as seeing the obvious look of humiliation on Mino's face. When they were no longer in hearing range of his mother's voice, he stopped in his tracks, "I'm so sorry..."

"Don't worry about it. Your mother is pretty cute," Minzy smiled. "I like her."

A sigh of relief escaped his lips as he smiled gratefully at Minzy, "Thanks so do I."

The air between the two grew quiet as he stood staring at her. "What," she finally asked to break the silence.

"Why did you bring me here?"

She scoffed as she shook her head, "I didn't tell you to follow me."

"But how did you know..."

She raised her hands in defense to stop him, "Look I honestly did not know this was your home. It really is out of pure coincidence."

Raising an eyebrow at her in disbelief he didn't know what to think, "Then why did you come here?"

Minzy bit the corner of her lip as she folded her arms over her chest and shrugged, "Because..." She was unsure if she wanted to open up to a complete stranger.

"Because what...I mean, if you're going to be having my babies I would at least like to know a little honesty," he teased.

His comment made her laugh as she shook her head, "Okay just because I'm a city girl doesn't mean I'm that easy to be calling you my baby daddy." Sighing she started to slowly walk towards the farmer's market, "This place brings back happier times. Times of when my grandmother and I would travel all the way here for the best and freshest food. My grandmother and I would save money to travel here every month because we weren't the richest. But it wasn't just about the food, it was the many laughters that we shared in the journey. My grandma was everything to me, especially since she was the only family I knew." Hugging herself, she inhaled the cool fresh air, "So when I want to think on happier times or on days like these when I really miss my grandma I come here." A cool breeze brushed by as she closed her eyes, taking in the memories of her grandmother. Mino watched in silence as Minzy extended her arms out, "When I come here I feel my grandmother's love the most. So when your mother hugged me, it made me thank the heavens for the reminder that my grandmother is still watching over me."

Mino felt something stir within him as he saw a tear fall from her eyes. He couldn't just stand there any longer as he turned and took her into his arms. Holding her against him, he felt the need to protect her or do something of the sort. He didn't know what had come over him as he held her tightly. Grinning to himself as she leaned further into his embrace, the pair stood quietly in the moment. Gazing down, he gave her a crooked smile, "It seems as though your grandmother has been looking out for us both."

Minzy felt something stir within herself as she stared up at him, "It would seem so." The two stood gazing into each other's eyes as they shared a connection. Leaning down, Mino pressed his forehead against hers allowing the two to connect deeper in the moment. This action made Minzy's cheeks heat up, pulling away she waved her hand in front of her face. "Let's go check out the market!"

Mino chuckled as he watched the young woman race off, she was something else he thought to himself as he followed behind.
