Ong Seongwoo (1)--Spontaneous
Produce 101 season 2 imagines~(Requested by @taurass)
(Y/N)'s heart fluttered with excitement as she pulled on a simple white t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Ong Seongwoo, the new boy in town, had asked her out on a date.
"Do you know any boys who are interested in dating you?" he had asked her just three days ago, as they were walking home.
"Currently, there's no one," she had answered. "Why?"
"Because I am. I'm interested in getting to know you more." His eyes had been fixed on her. "And, if you are, too, I'll take you out on Saturday."
She had simply nodded, surprised at how straightforward he had been and secretly excited.
The bell rang. She hastily pulled on her shoes and opened the door to greet Seongwoo.
"Hey, (Y/N)!" He grinned widely. He was wearing a black hoodie and cuffed jeans, and (Y/N) couldn't help but marvel at how amazing he looked even in casual clothes. "Are you ready? Let's go!"
Her eyes darted to his huge backpack, which was filled to the brim. "What do you have in your backpack?"
His eyes sparkled with mischief. "You'll see."
"Where are we going?"
"You sure ask a lot of questions," he said, but he was smiling. "I like that. But it's a surprise."
He opened his car door for (Y/N), fake-bowing to get a laugh out of her, then drove her to a Japanese restaurant. Yay for sushi! Things were off to a great start. She couldn't help but imagine what the rest of the date would be like. A movie? Maybe they would go to a candy store! Or even a cafe!
When they arrived at the restaurant, he asked, "Do you like sushi?"
She nodded. Sushi was her favorite.
He turned to the cashier. "Two sushi roll boxes, to-go please." They received the boxes and went right back into the car.
He caught the look of surprise on her face, but didn't say anything, simply opening the door for her again. Then he began driving--in the same direction as her house.
When they arrived at her neighborhood, Seongwoo handed her a box of sushi rolls. "Have a nice meal."
Her jaw dropped. What was happening? This was it? The simple car ride and back from a restaurant, in which they hadn't even spent ten minutes? She had imagined so much more--and even if it hadn't fulfilled her expectations, a fifteen-minute date was too short. They had barely even talked and--
He burst out laughing. "Sorry, that was a joke. Let's go to the park."
They walked to the park in her neighborhood, where there was a perfect patch of grass. Seongwoo took out a picnic mat from his backpack. Somehow, he had known that she preferred outdoor eating to indoors. Maybe he was a great guesser or something. After a delicious meal of sushi and a great deal of talking, he stood up.
"I rented two bikes for a day, hopefully you like biking?"
"I love biking," she said. How did he know that she loved sushi, picnics, and biking? This was an amazing coincidence.
He took out two helmets from his backpack, putting one on her head. He fastened the clasp for her, his face so close to hers that she couldn't help but blush.
"I'll race you!" he yelled, and he was off.
"Hey!" She immediately started pedaling as fast as she could.
She won the race, and Seongwoo clapped for her. He couldn't help but marvel at how talented and beautiful she was, as well as how she was so perfectly unaware of it. This had been the end to the date that he had planned, but spending time with her was too tempting for him to end it here just yet.
"Whew, I think I lost all of that sushi weight," he said.
She laughed. "Me, too."
"Do you want to drive around town?" he offered.
She nodded vigorously.
As they were driving, Seongwoo noticed (Y/N)'s eyes brighten they stopped at a candy store. He announced, "Let's get some candy!"
He bought any candy that she wanted, from chocolates to gummy worms.
Then they ran across a movie theater and watched "Wonder Woman," where they laughed and cried together while munching on the delicious candies.
It was 10 P.M. when the movie ended, and they drove to a cafe.
Seongwoo put a steaming cup of hot chocolate in her hands, suddenly looking nervous for the first time.
"Did you...like the date?" he asked cautiously.
"Yes!" She smiled at him.
He breathed out a sigh of relief, then looked nervous once again. "(Y/N), I like you--a lot. And I really want to spend even more time with you in the future. Would you...like to be my girlfriend?"
She took his hand, surprising him. "Yes, Seongwoo. I would love to be your girlfriend."
He let out a whoop and punched his free fist in the air, while squeezing her hand.
"How did you know all of the places I wanted to go: the park, the movie theater, the cafe....and all of the things I wanted to do?" she asked. "It couldn't be more perfect. And it was all so spontaneous!"
"Spontaneous?" he laughed. "I actually researched all of the things that you might like, and I planned everything."
She joked, "Wow, I didn't know you liked me so much."
"I'm glad you know now, jagiya."
