Inside the most high-priced hotel room in Hongkong was a thick, polluting cloud of smoke from tobaccos. Other than the sound of non-bulleted shotguns being shot aimlessly at the windows of the nearby hotels, someone’s serious look was even more deafening.

“You’ve been dirtying our goods for quite some time now.” A woman in a tight, tube black dress finally spoken up, she combed her hair to the side while putting her elbow to the backrest of the white couch they were sitting on. “There’s no great excuse of handing that back to us. It’s filthy with your fingerprints all over it.” She told with a bored tone, swinging her 5-inch black heels to and fro. “Pay up.”

“Eyyy.” A guy named, Tablo whined while making a face after someone interrupted his moment with the super-shorty. “Ever the impatient one, aren’t we, Yuri ssi?”

“I’m just saying.” Yuri shrugged him off, still giving him that pay-up-or-die look.

Tablo smiled a sly one before instructing one of his men to hand a medium sized pink Carebear stuff toy to their table. He took its head and opened the zipper on its neck, showing to Yuri the stack of UK pound bills inside it. “Go ahead and count.” He said.

“No need.” The man in copper red hair interrupted and stood up.

“Going already?”

Yuri took the bear and zipped it back, hugging it to her perfectly perked s. “Yep.” She said, standing up too to follow her brother. “Bye.”

“This ain’t just about this.” Tablo said lowly, hands laying the gun on the glass table. They all could feel how the air thickened in between the friendly byes and hostile looks. “Isn’t it, G-Dragon ssi?”

“What made you say that?” GD answered in return, without looking back.

“You’re here to weigh each one of us. I know you are checking on all the Pawns.” He said with much strong conviction. “You’re checking whose head the Zenith can chop in order to shush the whole Lost Anima before the Bartering.” And displeasure. “Before one of the Pawns can even think of betraying and have an alliance with The Resurrectors.”

GD turned to him, faced to faced he admitted, “We are.”

“Scared?” Yuri asked playfully, swinging the huge stuff toy from side to side.

Tablo gave a smug in return. “If you’re doubting my loyalty to Lost Anima, then go ahead. Shoot me now.” His eyes leveling that of GD.

“Should I?”

“You know what Pawns are after in Lost Anima. Power and protection, GD.” The latter remained quiet but unperturbed. “Not once I had doubt Minho or Grandfather, but things have changed now. I don’t believe any Pawn would dare betray Lost Anima, but who could tell who wouldn’t 10 years after? When Grandfather has reached his limit?”

Yuri could only look at him. It was the same terrible fate they all had been turning blind on. Just weeks ago, Grandfather instructed her to go in Hongkong to have some survey on the Pawns. Those who came in contact with The Resurrectors will be immediately . . . taken cared of. That was the order. Grandfather feared there might be another traitor infiltrated Lost Anima that caused the death of their leader. She could finish this task good, but she was thankful for the help of her brother too. G-Dragon. He was a year older at the age of 27. Yuri could never stand dealing with those Pawns who try to smitten her when all she could do was puke on their fugly faces. If it weren’t for Lost Anima, she had run them over with a tractor or something.

“You’re wasting your time here.” Tablo told him, shaking his head like it was so absurd to even begin with. “My loyalty lies on Lost Anima as long as a Zenith brings us to that unreachable glory. We’re all slaves to them, GD ssi. Birds that use and be of used for them.” He smiled a mocking one. “Our only difference is we could have the freedom to fly when our sacred tree comes crashing down while Blackbloods like you, die along with them.”

“I don’t like the taste of every word you say.” The stuff toy fell as Yuri was about to point a gun at Tablo.

“Yuri.” GD called to calm her.

“Why? Truth hurts?” Tablo asked all innocently, but his smile was screaming another thing.

“We’re done here.” GD said, putting his revolver at his back and heading to the door. Yuri mouthed a You to Tablo before grabbing the pink Carebear in annoyance, her deep cleavage showing.

GD opened the door of the hotel room when he heard Tablo spoke again.

“I heard rumors. Interesting ones.”

He remained silent.

It was Yuri who couldn’t help but be curious. She was blaming the female race innate skill of gossiping. “What rumors?”

Tablo sat down on his gray huge settee, taking hold of his newly bought super shorty shotgun. “Dara is out there, trying to find some guy.” He blew a heavy smoke to the air. “Who is he?”

Yuri turned quiet too, feeling intrigued at this new topic. She’s hunting some guy? A Resurrector? TOP? Kiko didn’t mention this to me. She thought, searching for answer at Tablo’s questioning eyes.

“Lee Donghae.”

Who? Yuri now snapped at his brother’s back. She hated the feeling of being left out.

“What is he?” Tablo asked again, inhaling more of that tobacco.

Without further delay and lies, GD answered him. “A Zenith.”

“Wow.”

Donghae stood in awe right in front of the palatial stately home somewhere in one of Seoul’s exclusive subdivisions. It was a four-story mansion that was surrounded by immaculately marbled pillars and an impressive gothic design around. He already blinked his eyes thrice.

“Is this really the KBS building?” He asked but as expected, the road manager he was with didn’t supply an answer.

He was so used on rundown houses or two-story apartments in Mokpo that this was truly shocking for him. A celebrity house. He saw one in MTV back then. Is the house and lot grand prize as majestic as this too? He couldn’t help but thought. Now, I feel like following Seunghoon’s advices to win.

After gluing his eyes to the mansion’s grand front, his eyes looked back at the gate they came in. Donghae squinted his eyes at how far the tall gate was from the house. It was like 10 streets apart. What? He studied the vast green on their surrounding. It was a golf course. “Daebak.”

But it’s empty.

He noticed that as the pure solitude welcomes him. He glanced at his wristwatch. 4:32 P.M. “Have all the employees gone home already?” He turned to the lady beside him and realized he was standing alone there. Eh? He looked straight and saw her opening the door. “Wait! My backpack!” He tried to open the door’s car but it was locked. “Ms. Road Manager! My bag- Aish! Later then.” He gave up and ran after her inside the mansion.

If the outside was grand, the interior inside was even more worth drooling in awe about. A gigantic sparkling crystal chandelier welcomes anyone, hanging upside down all from the ceiling of the 4th floor all the way to the second floor. There were two mahogany staircases that spirals all to the top. Well, there’s an elevator situated somewhere in the left corner of the lobby.

He followed her going up the third floor and stopping at the farthest room of one of the hallways. Donghae waited for her to open the door when he asked, “Who are we meeting? The director? Is Manager Kang there?” He tried to smile as the nervousness started to eat him.

Instead of answering, the lady opened the huge door for him.

History is about to unravel.

Donghae stepped forward with his brows slightly creased. It was no simple office. It was a library full of old books and tall bookshelves. The ceiling was painted with an image of a child holding two large stones while sitting on one of the sturdy branches of a huge tree. How could one paint like that? Won’t their necks ache?

The door closed.

He was alone.

Where did she go? He started walking towards the door to ask and follow her again.

“Lee Donghae.”

“Oh god!” He flinched when he heard a voice from the back. No, he wasn’t alon
