CHAPTER SEVEN

Jaera went to school early only to see Baekhyun leaning at the school gate. She immediately made a U-turn away from him but Baekhyun was quick enough to notice her.

“Baby,” he called out, jogging towards her.

Jaera stopped in her tracks and turned to face her boyfriend. “Oppa, why are you so early?”

“I wanted to apologise to you. And you? Why are you early today?”

“I wanted to avoid you.”

Baekhyun pout and s his arms around Jaera’s waist. “What can I do for my beautiful girlfriend so that she won’t avoid me anymore?” He smiled at her affectionately.

Jaera pressed her lips and pondered for a while before muttering, “Jisoo.”

“What?” Baekhyun looked at Jaera, furrowing his eyebrows. Who is Jisoo?

Jaera smiled weakly at Baekhyun. “Accept her, oppa.”

Completely leaving Baekhyun dumbfounded.

Jisoo walked to her class, deep in her thoughts. Who is the boy Jaera loves? She couldn’t help but smile a bit, happy that Jaera has a soft spot for someone even if she played with other boys. But the familiar pang in her chest started again. What if Jaera was just playing with Baekhyun?

That’s right Jaera was just playing with Baekhyun but Baekhyun loved her.

Jisoo gripped the hems of her skirts trying to avoid tears coming out of her eyes. She couldn’t imagine Baekhyun crying his heart out. Holding her books close to her chest, she walked with her head hang low and sniffing every second. Many passed by her and glanced at her with what is wrong with this maid? look.

Just then she bumped into someone. Her papers scattered everywhere. At least it wasn’t her but her papers.

“Sorry,” she apologized without looking at the person who she bumped into, scared that the person will lash it out on her. Instead, she bent down to get her papers. She was picking her papers when a pair of hands joined her. She was about to thank her helping hand if not for someone who snorted out loud as he grabbed a paper she was holding.

“So, you are Jisoo,” Baekhyun mumbled and Jisoo’s heart went into a marathon, her face immediately lighting up. “I know you like me but don’t stare at me that long. It’s creepy,” Baekhyun deadpanned.

Jisoo blushed deeply lowering her head, shy that she got caught. She was deep in her make-up world with Baekhyun when someone poked her shoulder. She grunted and turned towards him only to fiddle with her fingers in embarrassment. D.O was the one who helped her and here she wass, fantasizing on Baekhyun, completely forgetting D.O.

“Oh,” Jisoo awkwardly took the paper from D.O muttering, “Thank you” and quickly walked off to her next class.

“She’s cute,” D.O blurted out and Baekhyun looked at D.O with mouth hanging as if he had done a very big crime. Is he really D.O?

“Wow, hyung, you only know today,” Sehun snickerd followed by the remaining EXO (except Baekhyun). To EXO, Jisoo was the cutest nerd they hadever seen.

“They are being possessed,” Baekhyun mumbled as he shook his head lightly.

Jisoo couldn’t wait for the last class to be over. She had to see Jungkook fast. She had important matters to discuss with him. Jisoo waited impatiently for the class to end, tapping her foot uneasily oblivious of the irritation she’s causing to her seatmate.

D.O took a glance at his seatmate who seemed quite impatient about something. Since that incident of the bulletin board, he couldn’t help but feel something was not really right. From Jaera’s reaction to Jungkook’s and Jisoo’s best friend, he found it hard to believe that Jisoo was a maid. Through his observations, he had seen, Jisoo’s hands were not rough like normal maids. She had the courage to speak up to Jaera which, no one, not even Krystal Jung, who is a distant cousin of Jaera had the courage to do so. Krystal was the fiancée of the son of the branch family of the main family while Jaera was the stepdaughter of the main family. They had only a little gap in their status.
