Section 2.6: Never to interfere with her relationship with her friends Kwon Jiyong, Sandara Park and Lee Chaerin

“Are you ready?” Top asked in a serious tone.

Bom took a deep breath and nodded.

She walked into the visiting room inside the jail where she would face the two attackers. Top followed her behind, restraining himself from punching them. With Top’s guidance, she took a seat. Top stood behind her while glaring at the men in prison.

Bom felt their intimidating presence in front of her. She was nervous as hell. She knew this wasn’t compulsory but she wanted answers. Top noticed her right hand started shaking uncontrollably. Without  thinking he held onto her hand tightly. She felt his fingers wrapped around her hand, warming up instantly.

“It’s okay, I’m here.” He whispered to her.

Bom calmed down.

“You can ask questions now Miss Park Bom,” The police in the room informed her.

“Who are you?” She said her first question.

“I’m a normal civilian. I’m a baker!”

“Who sent you?” She interrogated him.

“I don’t know. I was running in a huge debt because of my gambling problem and one day at the casino someone offered me a huge sum to kill you. This person was all covered up and made sure their identity was hidden.”

“What is this person after? Money? Revenge? Are my parents involved?”

“I dont know ! I swear I don’t know anything!”

After getting no answers Bom and Top walked out of the police station feeling frustrated.

“Do you want me to buy you ice cream?” Top offered.

Bom shook her head.

She couldn’t get rid of the attacker’s voices in her head.

What do they want?

Why are they targeting her?

She knew nothing but one thing for sure was that somebody was after her.

“Top…you’re a black belt at taekwondo, right?” She uttered.

“Yeah,”

“Teach me self-defence.”

“Wow, this is amazing,” Top gawked at the huge boxing ring. Everyday Top is surprised at Bom’s connections and power. How she could hire boxing ring just like that? He had no idea.

Top picked up the boxing gloves and help her strapped them on.

“We’re going to have some quick boxing exercises to warm up. I want to see how powerful your punches and kicks are.”

Top picked up the heavy punching bag with ease and held it in front for Bom to throw her punches. Uncertain where her target was Bom started off weak.

“I know you can hit harder than this,” Top blurted.

“Shut up. I hate exercising.”

“I don’t care. Hit harder,” Top unleased his commanding officer side.

Bom built up her strength trying to match Top’s high expectations but it was still difficult for her.

“Remember when I won Monopoly?”  Top .

Suddenly Bom smashed the punching bag. Top felt this heavy force and smirked.

“Yah! I won that game! You tricked me!” Bom vented her frustrations at the punching bag.

“Good job,” Top smiled, finally complimenting her.

He knew she had the strength inside of her.

He believed in her.

She didn’t know why that that compliment made her heart flutter.

He was kind, gentle and patient.

She just felt safe whenever she was around him.

“Now kicks,” Top moved on to the next workout.

“Get into position and show me how you kick,”

Bom kicked the invisible air as if she was kicking a soccer ball on the ground.

“I know you can kick higher than that,” Top mentioned while unimpressed.

“By the way, I was the one who ate your pudding,” He provoked her.

The enraged Bom sent out a flying kick. However everything was still black to her and she suddenly lost balance. She felt her body crash down towards the mat. Her stomach dropped. She couldn’t see anything in front of her. She was falling and she couldn’t prepare herself. Everything was black.

With his quick reflexs, Top dived down and was able to catch her before she hit the ground. They both rolled along the floor. Bom was surprised to be locked inside Top’s hug. She was even more surprised when she realised she was lying directly on top of his body.

Her head rested against his chest.

She could hear the shortness of his breath.

She could smell his strong cologne.

She could feel the intense beating of his heart.

Bom quickly got up after realising how close they were.
