"One thing my mother never knew, and would disapprove of most of all, was that I watched the Cha's. All the time."
The Cha's are everything the Yoo's are not. Loud, messy, and affectionate. And every day from her rooftop perch, Yoo Jieun wishes she was one of them.
Perched from the rooftop outside her bedroom window of her mother's near pristine colonial, she observes the unkempt yard littered with toys, the third oldest son Joon fiddling with his motorbike, or even the two youngest, always yelling and fighting with each other.
Life in Yoo Jieun's home was neat and clean and orderly. Everything was precisely planned and organized by her politician mom. Perfect would be the most accurate description of Jieun's world.
That all changed one night when Cha Hakyeon climbs the trellis outside her bedroom and enters her life, she finds herself falling passionately in love with him and everything that goes along with it.
The only problem is, well, she's got to hide it from her mother.
As the two fiercely fall for each other, awkwardly stumbling through the trials of first love, Hakyeon's family embraces Jieun, even as she keeps him a secret from her own.
Then something unthinkable happens and the bottom of Jieun's perfect world drops out beneath her. She's suddenly faced with an impossible decision.
Can the perfect family save her? Or is it high time she saved herself?
So, If you've read My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick then you've seen my summary before. Well. This is one of my all time favorite books. I love her work as an author.
As I was going back and rereading her book, I thought, well how cool would a plot like this be with one of my favorite VIXX memebers?
There will be some similarities and inspirations, like family background and whatnot, but this is a retelling of her novel, and so it will have my own original touch and charm to it. I'm not trying to plagiarize her work after all and if I do take direct quotes or words, the will be cited accordingly.
This will also have some nice ty scenes in it but I'm going to build up to it, hence the M rating.
And if you're looking for something to read, indulge your self in an absolutely sinless book that you won't be able to put down here.
