Chasing a Shadow

Description

Lee Seunghyun has been pursuing a serial killer who he swore to arrest with his own hands. However, it was impossible for him…because he was chasing his own shadow.

Foreword

“You cannot capture a shadow in the Light. To kill a shadow, you have to come into my world___the world of darkness. I am Seungri.”

Seungri also known as Shadow was a serial killer targeting corrupted politicians. He was brutal in his way of killing. Slitting their throat while they gurgled and choked on their blood, suffocating to death. A little boy doll will be left in the embrace of the victim, soaked up by the blood of the victim. The crime scene was gruesome and eerily familiar to detective Lee Seunghyun but he just could not place his fingers on. It sickened Seunghyun to the core. Seungri, treated everything like a game_ a challenge. He left messages at every crime scenes. Messages that sent chills down his spine. Why does it seems like those messages are meant for him? The bugging feeling irked him to no end. Fortunately, he was not alone in this. Jiyong was his source of support and comfort.

Jiyong was his senior in the police force first division that deals with murder. He appeared to be cold and stuck up at first, the complete opposite of bubbly and friendly Seunghyun. He used to mock at Seunghyun’s idealistic peaceful world. He remembered being struck by Seunghyun’s kindness towards a suspect.

“He is only a suspect until there is sufficient evidence to prove his sins. Concrete evidence that has been thoroughly revised.”

Jiyong’s father was arrested for embezzlement of the government fund. He was in fact a scapegoat for the minister of education but no one believed him. The prosecutor did not even bother to do further investigation and he was sentenced to lifetime jail. Jiyong’s mother could not take the stress from the neighbours’ gossiping and committed suicide. Jiyong’s father learning the news hung himself in his cell as well. Jiyong blamed his father initially. Until news broke that the Lee Donghyuk, the minister of education was actually the corrupted politician. But everything was too late. Way too late…

If only someone like Seunghyun was in charge of the investigation. Someone that treated suspects like a decent human.

If anyone, it will be Seunghyun who can stop Seungri.

Chapter 1: I'm kind of confused...so was Seungri actually Seunghyun too (like does he has a multi-personality disorder) or were they two different people?

Chapter 5: Wow this was short and right into the action but wow. I didn't know what to expect to be honest but wasn't this fast and not bad at all. I can feel Seungri, oh my god that poor poor persona! I also feel Seunghyun though. There he was, thinking he was having a good life but in reality he was a broken, love-sick boy that just wanted to be happy. They were the same person in the end after all. I can't even write properly now haha. Sigh... Poor Jiyong though...
