V & Lisa Oneshot

2013. Japan. Summer.

A lot of people are lining up to see Bigbang’s concert tour. Some fans have been on the venue since four in the morning and Lisa and her friends aren’t any special. And just like any fan, they’re expected to join the endless lines and the scorching heat.

“I can’t take this anymore!!!” Jisoo complained. “I wanna call my brother!”

“URGH! Why aren’t we moving?” Jennie jumped in frustration.

Lisa and Rose looked at each other hoping they can find a solution for their friends’ whims.

“Keep them entertained…I’ll get them some food and drinks.” Lisa suggested spotting a food stand not so far away.

On the other hand, Taehyung and Jimin were present at the venue too.

“HELLO? JIMINNIE!!! WHERE ARE YOU?” Taehyung yelled on the phone. He and Jimin flew to Japan just to see Big Bang because this is the only time that both of them are free to go overseas for a vacation. Actually, it’s more beneficial for him because he has a lot of free time. He just brought Jimin along with him because he didn’t want to go alone on the trip his grandparents arranged for him.

“GET BACK HERE! I’M STARVING! I DON’T CARE IF YOU HAVEN’T PEED YET! YOU HAVE TO TAKE MY SPOT ON THE LINE BECAUSE I MIGHT FORGET IT!”

He has been craving for fish cakes since he saw it earlier by the stalls. Waiting for Jimin to arrive made his hunger more unbearable that it already is.

Jimin finally get to the line to save their spot. Taehyung scolded him for acting so slow. This is normal for the two. Ever since they’ve known each other, their favorite hobby is to bicker.

Lisa doesn’t know what to buy. Will she go for the corndog, the fishcake or the takoyaki? She decided to buy all and then ordered a special one for herself.

“And one stick with the fiskcake, corndog and takoyaki please? Oh and please add more sauce. No, no spicy. Arigatou gozaimas!” She said her order in japanese. Lisa waited for her friends’ food while she ate hers. She noticed that a girl was ordering a food too. She’s a Caucasian and she looks really pretty. She was busy admiring the girl’s blonde her to even notice Taehyung on the other end of the stall beside the girl.

“Ohayo!” Taehyung greeted the vendor. “Can I please have 4 sticks with the fishcake, takoyaki and corndog?”

“Of course young man. What sauce do you want? You like spicy?”

“No…no spicy. I prefer the sweet one. Thanks!”

Lisa’s phone rang noting a text from Rose. The line was now moving and her friends are looking for her.

“Excuse me Miss? Here’s your food.” The vendor said to Lisa giving her orders in a bag.

“Here. Please keep the change. Thank you!” She said and sprinted back to the line.

2014. Daegu South Korea. Winter.

Lisa opened her eyes to see all her brothers inside her room at the hospital. She was at one of their family-owned hospitals to study medicine in preparation for college. Once every winter break, her parents sends her to one of their hospitals for training. But now she wasn’t there for studies. Well she was in the first place, but her anemia happened again causing everyone to worry about her.

“SHE’S ALIIIIVE!!!” says Johnny, the youngest of her brothers.

“Have you been dieting again Sis?” Nick said showing her the flowers he bought for her. “I bought you your favorite tulips!”

“Thanks Nick.”

“We missed you so much bud!” Minho said hugging her.

“I’m fine guys, geesh, I’m not dying.” Lisa said pushing her brother away from her.

“Ouch! First time you’ve seen your bro in 8 months and you’re pushing me away! God you’re ruthless.” Minho said.

“Aish, stop it before I puke. I should give you more work load, seems like all of you are slacking off.” Wonbin said, the eldest one.

“OPPA, YOU’RE HERE!” Lisa said excitedly at the sight of her eldest brother.

“Well I was around the area when the director called me. I had to visit my favorite sister when I heard you collapsed…again.” Wonbin said moving closer to her and kissing her forehead.

“Of course, he’s her favorite.” Minho muttered sulking at Johnny.

“Sorry. I was studying so much…I keep forgetting to eat right and sleep on time.”

“Really, is that really why you’re busy?” Wonbin said raising his eyebrows and lowering his voice.

“Y-yeah…why else wouldn’t I be?”

Johnny let out a laugh and pulled something from his pocket.

“Nice going slick. We already found you out.” Johnny said tossing her drumsticks on her bed.

“I was just blowing off some steam! I got stressed too you know.” She explained and put herself back on the bed.

“Fine. Tell Pops and Mom. I know you guys probably don’t love me anymore! What’s a girl like me have?” She said covering herself with the comforter.

Lisa shut her eyes and wondered why no one’s reacting. A few seconds ticked by and Johnnie shouted.

“TICKLE FIGHT!!!”

Next thing she knows all her brothers are on her bed attacking and tickling her.

After a while Lisa’s brothers left and carried on with their personal matters. Of course they didn’t leave her without giving her some helpful advice.

“We know you’re a genius but you still got to focus on medicine. This is what father wants for us.” – Minho.

“We’re doing this for your sake baby; it’s for your own good. You’re our only sister. We’re only protecting you. You can always do your drums and your dancing after college…or a year after that…or a year after a year after that…” – Nick.

“I think you’re doing just fine. Look at me, I’m almost always grounded…” – Johnny.

“Be good. All of us are always watching you.” – Wonbin.

“Huh…” Lisa sighs as she recalls her brothers’ words. “I need to think.” She gets off her bed and slips into her shoes to go outside on a winter day.

“Gosh, it’s gonna be so cold soon as if it’s not cold enough here…I better put on 5 layers. No, maybe 10.”

Taehyung was walking his dog to the hospital that day for a rabies shot. He was supposed to bring Soonshim to the hospital yesterday but he has to help his Grandparents with the vineyard. Harvest is poor nowadays. They discovered a pest at the south of their property and it’s been stressing everyone lately.

“You are my sunshine Soonshim. I’m so proud your mine.” He said ruffling his dog’s ears.

“ARF!”

“Your right. I deserve a break!” He said now hugging himself because of the cold. “Wheew…so coooold. Come on let’s get you treated. Aigoo your so cute! What would I do without you?”

While walking his way to the hospital he couldn’t help but think about the vineyard. His grandfather poured everything on that and he’s afraid that he and his father won’t be able to maintain it. His only wish is that he’d graduate soon so he can help his family business full time.

“ARF! ARF! ARF! ARF!”

“Shoonmin…it’s just a cat buddy.” He said looking ahead. They were going to cross the street and the stop light is still on the red light.

“ARF! ARF!” His dog didn’t stop barking. The cat was now near Soonshim almost like teasing him. Then the stop light turned green signaling the pedestrians to walk.

“Come Soonshim!” He called. They were in the middle of the street when the wind got his scarf off his shoulder. He was running to get it when a girl beat him to it.

“Oh…you got my scarf.” He said panting. “Thank you!” He said bowing and the girl just bowed at him. He couldn’t even make out her face with the size and layers of her jackets and her scarves, it was impossible.

“You’re welcome. Nice dog.” She said in a soft voice.

Taehyung looked at the girls figure as she walks across the street from him. He turned his head to the side and wondered why she seems to be out of this world at a blank space.

“Let’s go Soonshimie.”

2015. Bangkok Thailand. Summer.

“Maybe she’s right! I’m not fit to be an heiress! I mean look at me Pops! I’m weird, and I’m different from other girls.” Lisa cried. She just got away from her own birthday party. She was humiliated in front of everybody by some girl who hates her to a point where this girl played a video of her dancing drunk at Jisoo’s party. Her birthday was an opportunity for her to be exposed to well known people who are in the business and medicine field. But this kind of exposure can be the end for her. She just embarrassed herself in front of her own family and their friends! It’s such a disgrace for Lisa, even she could never look back at what happened.

“Sometimes I wish I can be a normal daughter. Are you mad at me daddy?”

“I’m not mad at you dear. But what happened already happened. Sometimes you have to accept things the way that they are. I would never want you to change for anybody else. What’s important is for you to be you. Nothing’s wrong with being different. Heck – that’s what makes you beautiful.”

“You’re entitled o say that because you’re my dad, Pops.” She muttered wiping her tears.

“There’s my beautiful Lisa.” Her dad said gleaming at her. “Come on, you don’t want your brothers eat all the food right? We maybe inside a cruise at an all-you-can-eat buffet but with your brothers’ appetite, there’s no such thing as impossible.”

Lisa managed a smile. “It’s fine. I’ll be back later Pops…I think I want to be alone for now. You know how I like seeing the ocean from here.”

“Okay. If that’s what makes you feel fine then who am I to object.” He said getting up from his seat. “Happy birthday my daughter! I wish that you’re always healthy and happy.”

“Thanks Pops.”

“I’ll see you inside.”

Lisa watched her father go back inside the reception hall. She’s still annoyed by what had happened but somehow talking to her father calmed her down.

She was admiring the sunset for a while now when she heard fireworks coming from the lower deck. She sprang up from her seat and paced towards the railings to see what’s going on. When she got to the edge of the bars, she found a guy playing around with some firecrackers and…drinking some beer?

“Annyeong Jeong Gyu-ya, how’s my lil bro doing? Look, hyung’s a magician now! I can make fire…look…” Lisa heard the guy talk on his phone. He seems to be making his voice cute for his little brother on the phone. And he’s Korean?

And then he started dancing a weird octopus dance. Then he went faster with the body waves, it was so tacky Lisa couldn’t help but laugh.

“A-HAHAHAHA, HE’S LAUGHING!...Oh you’re going out? Alright see you soon, bye Eomma! Bye little Jeong Gyu-ya, say hello to Eon-jin from me. Annyeong…I miss you! Good bye~”

“HYUNG!!! Let’s take a selfie!” Some guy called out.

“Hey, wait for me!!!” Another one who’s also wearing black came. “Wait, where’s the music???”

“Play the music maknae!!!”

“Aish…”

“KOREA~”

“Hey Sis, games are starting aren’t you gonna join?” Johnny found Lisa by the railings. He was a bit worried when he thought she was nowhere near the reception.

“Are you okay?” He asked.

“Yeah…I’m coming.” She replied and looked back at the three guys on the lower deck. She knew she was thankful that these guys came around because for a minute, she totally forgot why she was upset.

Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook were celebrating their friendship overseas. It was actually a bucket list for them and they’ll be going to the Philippines next week and then Vietnam next. They were enjoying their summer break before the school year starts and Jungkook’s first year in college. They were first to arrive in Thailand and the hyungs will be coming sometime later.

“KOREA~~”

“Man I look good!” Jimin remarked.

“Then I’ll delete it.” Taehyung said making Jimin mad again. He was messing around with them when he felt like someone was watching them. He turned his head around and he missed seeing the face of the girl he would soon come to like.

Jungkook also noticed this and looked up.

“Who was that?”

“I don’t know.” Taehyung shrugged. “Just some girl.”
