21st Century Boys

Namjoon was listening intensely to Epik High’s song when Jungkook made a strike to the bowling pins. He unplug his earphones and stood up to cheer on their youngest friend in the group.

It was 2015 and finals week just ended so they gathered for a celebration.

“You deserve a drink Jungkookah!” He raised a can of beer.

“Wah, this is so unfair…” Suga complained lazily. But then it’s a given if you chose to compete with the golden maknae.

“Hobiyah! Let’s take a selfie!” Jin called as Jhope came back from the rest room.

“Who won? Did Yoongi Hyung win?”

“Alright Jungkook!” Jimin cheered coming to Jungkook to give the maknae a hug.

“Yeah!” V came and hoisted himself on Jungkook’s back. “Maknae line owns game night again!!!”

“What are you saying Tae? You don’t belong in our team!” Namjoon countered.

Jungkook laughed and accepted the beer Namjoon offered him.

“Hey, aren’t you proud your on our team?” Hobi put his arm around V’s shoulder and tightened it on his neck.

“Hehe…of course I’m happy to be on your team Hyung. It’s just, I’m also happy for Jungkookah.”

“Alright guys, this is a picture perfect moment!!!! Huddle up!” Jin expressed getting everyone ready for a photo op. He raised his phone and took a cute photo of the seven of them.

They were packing their things when few girls approached them. These girls have been eyeing them since they entered the bowling alley.

It was Jimin whom they approached first.

“Hello, we were wondering if you guys can hang out with us. We thought you guys were really cool. Plus we have more extra passes for the club across the street…”

Jimin’s jaw dropped. The girl was petite and her face was doll like. She was with four more girls who are as petite as her but they all look pretty and perfect from head to toe.

“and, we need someone older to take us there…” The other girl with a wavy hair said.

Their uniforms suggested that they were only high schoolers, but the way they wear make up will make you think otherwise.

Jimin gave an uneasy smile but instead of answering her, he tugged Suga instead.

“Hyung~”

“What?- Oh, hey girls. Is my friend here bothering you?” Yoongi asked glaring at Jimin.
“Hyung!”

“Sorry about him.” Suga sniffed, rubbing his nose.

“We were just asking him if you guys want to join us at the club. It’s actually a favor because they wouldn’t let us in unless we have…someone..college people like you come with us…”

“Plus you’re BTS!~ouch!” A girl with the ponytails added earning a nudge from the other girl.

The girls were explaining when the other members saw Jimin and Yoongi talking to them. All of them joined the two and listened to the pretty girls.

“Alright. We’ll be there.” Hoseok presented without much of a thought.

“Yeah!”

“That’s a lucky shot.”

Yoongi watched as Jin and Hobi play billiards with the girls they met. If it weren’t for his good mood, he’d probably advise the guys not to go. But finals week just ended and he thought they needed some fun. He’s not worried about his friends about getting into relationships, heck, he’s more worried about these girls getting hurt.

He knows his friends are really friendly. They can be too friendly - like Kim Taehyung and his best bud Park Jimin for example.

The 95 duo were on the middle of the dance floor having some fun with the girls. Jungkook tried to dance but he failed when a girl tried to grind on him. He escaped the dance floor and ran towards Suga.

“Here’s your beer Hyung. Ey JK, why aren’t you with your fellow aliens?” Rap Monster arrived with the drinks.

Suga took the glass and drank up.

“It’s too hot in there.” Jungkook responded, airing out his shirt. He also took the beer from the table.

“Ey that’s mine, get yours!” – Namjoon.

“Thanks Hyung!” JK ignored him and put back the half empty beer on the table.

“Oh man.” Suga sighed. Namjoon followed his sight and let out a breath.

“Those two are lethal. I feel bad for these girls.” Namjoon commented watching Jimin and Taehyung attract half the female population in the club on the dance floor.

“Have those two ever taken a girl seriously before?” Suga asked making his two friends shook their heads in unison.

“Well damn.” Suga brushes of his hair and stands up. “I’m going to bring those two here before they cause trouble.”

“I’ll go with you.” Namjoon presented. “And you maknae, don’t you dare live up to those two. Trust me you’re doing just fine being a nice guy.”

Jungkook nodded and raised a thumbs up. He reached for Namjoon’s beer and finished it. Letting out a loud burp.

“Yup, he’s still a baby.” Namjoon muttered.

“Where are we going?” Hoseok asks the girl who pulled him away from the bar. He and Jin were trying out cocktails when the girl with the wavy hair – Daeun grabbed his hand and took him by the corner end of the club.

“Wha-”

Hobi didn’t get to finish his sentence because the girl attacked his mouth for a kiss. Because he was a bit tipsy from the alcohol, he couldn’t help but get in the moment. He was so into it that he’s seeing another girl in place of Daeun.

“Jisooyah…” He moaned.

“Jisooyah…”Then he opened his eyes. And as soon as he realized this he stopped. He wiped his face with his hands to wake himself up.

“Who’s Jisoo?” Daeun asks tilting her head.

Now that her face was closer he realized that she’s trying hard to act mature. He couldn’t help but compare her to…

“No one, she’s a fictional manhwa character. I’m sorry, I have to go. I’m also sorry for disrespecting you.” He said taking off her arms from around his shoulders.

“N-no, oppa!”

Hobi took off feeling the sweat on his face. Now he thinks he needs more air than beer in this place.

Jin drank the vodka from the counter top and made a face when the alcohol heat on his throat.

“Whew, I like that one. Bartender, give me another.” He ordered excitedly. “Ah, what’s taking Hoseok so long…”

“Need some company?”

Jin turned to see a y lady call on to him.

“Hi, I’m Young Hee. I see you’re drinking alone. I bet it’s one of the two reasons.”

Jin smirked and leaned his back on the counter. “Okay…enlighten me then Miss Young Hee.”
 

The girl’s smile widened proud that she made a BTS member speak with her.

“One, your lonely and need a companion…two, you’re happy but still need a companion. So which is it?”
Jin’s smile reached his eyes. “Well you were right. One, I’m a bit upset because my friend left me to drink all these cocktails alone and two I’m happy because a girl like you is here.”

Jin was about to continue flirting with the girl when his eyes caught Hobi running off to the rooftop. Jin scrunched his forehead and got worried. What’s up with that dude?

“So…do you want to go to some-”

“Uh, look Miss I would love to sit down and chat but… I think my friend needs me right now. I’m sorry. You can order anything you want. It’s on me.” Jin told the girl and left signaling the bartender to assist the girl.

“What the hell? I didn’t even get to kiss him!”

Meanwhile, Suga, Namjoon, Jungkook and Jimin were having a good time drinking with each other on their table while waiting for Taehyung who went to the rest room.

Some girls asked to hang out and drink with them but Suga kept them at bay. He was the one who was apologizing politely to the girls who wanted to chill with them. Saying reasons like they have girlfriends from gangsters to being gay would make some girls stay away. But there were also stubborn ones who are like Mia and Jiyeon. The two girls were really clingy. Mia kept hugging Jungkook from the back while Jiyeon never wants to leave Namjoon’s side. However, Jimin’s fan girls were another story.

“Aish he’s a nice guy with a cold heart! Leave him alone for Chrissakes!” Suga complained when he saw that Jimin was getting stressed about it. Some girls were even trying to drag him from their table.

“Agh, this. Can we leave now? Where’s Taehyung and the others?” Suga said noticing that the night was getting late and the girls are getting wild. There were even girls who were shouting obscene things for him. It was very unsettling.

It made him think about coming here in the first place. This wasn’t supposed to happen. How the hell did they get this kind of recognition anyway?

Taehyung appeared with two girls tailing him from behind. The first girl stole a kiss and the other one unclasped her bra and put it around his shoulder.

“I put my number there. Call me.”

“Err…okay. Bye…” Taehyung nodded politely and let himself fall on the couch beside Jimin.

“Can we go now. I’m feeling dirty. My armpits are leaving sweat stains and honestly, I’m not having fun anymore.” Taehyung confessed airing out his plaid shirt while throwing the bra on the cold floor.

“Taehyungah, what happened d-did those girls-”

“Jiminie are you accusing me of something?”

“What did you do before you got here?”

“I…peed? What else would I do inside the men’s room?”

Jimin sighed and relaxed on his seat. Namjoon smirked and threw a few chips on Jimin’s face.

“Guys let’s go upstairs. Hobi and Jin Hyung’s there. They say we can chill there. Peacefully.”

As soon as Suga let out those words, the five of them raced their way upstairs.

“Ah…the solitude. I love the smell of it.” Namjoon sighed as he inhaled the polluted air of Seoul Korea.

“Guuuuys, I have a wedding to attend tomorrow. Can we leave like…after 5 minutes?” Jimin protested taking the can of beer Suga was giving him.

“Did you guys get me some wine? Oh thanks Jungkookah.” V said.

“Jin Hyung I need to tell you something…” Hobi said preparing himself about the hell that’s going to happen.

“Yeah? What’s about? Is it about that girl you w-”

“It’s not. It’s about-”

Hobi was interrupted when Namjoon called them over.

“Hey guys, why don’t you get over here. I need to say a few words.”

The boys gathered around and sat on the cold pavement.

“I don’t know what’s up but we’re getting recognized everywhere…we’re no celebrities but girls flock to us like we’re some kpop boy band. And I don’t know how to react to this without cringing…” Namjoon started. “I mean it’s cool but just so everyone’s on the same page as me, let’s not get into trouble and ruin our rep.”

“Namjoonah, what exactly are you saying?” – Suga.

“I’m just a bit paranoid about this blog. Yeah it’s good now that it’s showing everyone about our good side. But I’m concerned for all of you. Honestly, because what if it turns the other way around? That blog may take us on different heights, and it can also ruin us. So please…”

Namjoon sat down and grabbed his beer. “Be a bit more mindful now than ever. I’d expect this will get worst than it already is.”

Jin let out a laugh. “Namjoonah, you speak like you’re our father. It actually suits you.”

“Jin Hyung I was being serious.” – Namjoon.

“Aigoo. You my friend needs to chill out.” Jin went over his side and clanked his beer on Namjoon’s.

“Okay, let’s have everything cleared out from here.” Jin stated and pushed his hands together, the alcohol starting to kick in.

“Basically, what Daddy said is to behave. Boys, especially the 95 duo you listen to me and listen well…stay out of trouble. Let me say that again. Stay. Out. Of. Trouble. Individually, you guys are safe, but if you all go together, chic magnets!”

“Hyung-”

“I’m not done talking Namjoonie. Hey, all of you especially the maknae line, listen…” Jin stands up and fought with his heavy eye lids.

“Girls… they’re not a problem. These girls…these girls were our mothers…our sisters our friends… we don’t hurt these girls okay? No matter how stubborn or crazy they get, we should always respect first. I know you know that I basically grow up with you guys. But you know… our friendship is also important… I’ve asked myself this question before. What if we reached that end where we’ll have to choose? The girl we love or our friendship…”

Jin paused and looked at each of his friend’s faces one by one.

“I say friendship!” Jungkook raised his voice.

“But you don’t know that Jungkookshi. But if the time comes, let’s settle it like a man. Let’s not fight, instead, let’s try to understand.”

This time Suga was the one to stand up.

“But before that happens let’s avoid it from even manifesting. And before this night ends let’s make a toast… to my best friends – my brothers and my family… may we be together until our bellies go fat and our teeths fell off!”

“Cheers!”

“Cheers!!!”

While they were all happy drinking together, Namjoon couldn’t help but notice Hoseok’s worried face.

“Did you tell him already?”

“I couldn’t. It wasn’t the best time.”

Namjoon nodded.

“Thanks Joonie.” Hobi raised his can and Namjoon bumped back.

Their little peace was interrupted by the maknaes giggling and usual childish acts. They saw Taehyung, Jimin and Jungkook play with Jin’s shoe like it was a ball. They passed it on until it fell off to the other side of the building.

“YAAA, YOU’RE DEAD IF I CATCH YOU!!!” – Jin.

“If you can catch us.” – Jungkook teased.

“Would you really think some girls will actually stay and date them?” Hobi smirked.

“Of course who wouldn’t want to date them. But the real question is… would they have the guts to actually take someone seriously?” – Namjoon.

“We having bets now?”

“Nah, let’s just see where the wind will take em.”

I'm soooo excited for the boys! (In fiction and irl)

I hope I can update the main story this week. I miss writing and i dont get to do it as much because of work. Damn I hate my job sometimes...no actually it's not the job the job is okay...its more of some people taking each other for granted. Whew.
