How many times had those words been repeated? How often were they agreed on? How frequently did it still fail? And yet, she tried again, because Ye In knew the Game Master designed the games to separate them.   “Are you serious?” Ho Seok was the first one to voice out his opinion. He cocked his head to Ji Ae, refusing to look her in the eye. “I am not working together with a murderer. She might kill me next.”   Ye In groaned at the response, knowing the plan was already failing before it was set into full motion.   “You are right about that. I know you’d like to join Mi Joo in death,” Ji Ae uttered recklessly, completely disregarding everyone else’s emotion.   The words aggravated Ho Seok who immediately got up on his feet, bonking his fist on the table. He used to be the peaceful one who spent his time comforting his now deceased friend. But after being trapped for so long and witnessing the true filthiness of humanity, he had enough.   “Shut up! You are nothing but a murderer! You should’ve jumped into the fire to reunite with Ji Min back then!” He shouted.   This made Ji Ae flinch, staring at him as if he had spoken taboo words. She soon raised from her seat, joining him in a silent assault of threatening eye contact shared between them.   “Guys! Please, we need to work together!” Ye In interrupted their tension, slamming her hands on the table to gain their attention. “The Game Master is trying to separate us. We can’t let that happen.”   The others stared at her like she was crazy.   “How do you know all this?” Ji Soo questioned.   It was too late for Ye In to realize she had said too much before thinking of a good backup excuse. The longer her silence extended, the more suspicion it triggered.   “It’s quite obvious. Anyone can sense it,” Yoon Gi suddenly spoke. He met Ye In’s grateful eyes, but did not let his coldness falter. “I want to win the game and get the hell out of here.”   He got up from his seat, nudging Jung Kook by the shoulder. “Lead us to the next playroom.”   A playroom, that was what it was. In a sense, the entire house of trap was like a huge playroom they were forced to play this deadly game in. But they were almost done. Just two more games, and they could escape.   “Are we playing now?” Jung Kook questioned.   “I don’t see the point in delaying my victory. Up,” Yoon Gi commanded, and the younger boy obeyed when he rose to his feet.   They all silently trailed after Jung Kook who guided them as he followed the map indicated on the mission card.   “Hey,” Ji Soo suddenly neared Myung Eun who was being awfully quiet the entire time. She jerked the younger girl’s arm a little. “Are you okay? You haven’t said anything.”   Myung Eun looked up, watching move. She tried to read her lips, but was never exposed to possess those skills. She had no idea what was being asked from her, nor did she know what to reply. She glanced at Yoon Gi who seemed to be watching, and yet didn’t interrupt or aid her.   “Yes,” Myung Eun then replied, flashing a convincing smile. She gave out the most common answer that should supposedly work with any question. Ji Soo’s face looked at her weirdly, so she quickly added, “I’m fine.”   And that seemed to do the trick as Ji Soo smiled back at her in relief, uttering more words she could not hear.   Jung Kook held the key in his hand, and kept stealing glances at Ye In who walked beside him instead of looking at the map. “You know something about the Game Master, don’t you?” He asked, his tone curious and friendly at the same time.   “Huh? No.”   “You’re lying.”   She bit her lips, wondering why she was keeping this from him. If there was anyone in the house she trusted more than anyone, it would’ve been him. He could help. So she gave in.   “I found something that might reveal the Game Master’s identity,” she came clean to him. “I think it’s one of us.”   Jung Kook frowned in surprise. “Why would you think so?”   “Because the reason we’re trapped in here is related to the… Fire incident years ago,” Ye In said the words carefully, trying not to open his wounds towards the sensitive subject. His features darkened already. “Basically, all twelve of us were the ones who went on the camping trip and experienced that tragedy. I think the Game Master is trying to avenge your brother’s death.”   Jung Kook stared at her worriedly, seemingly having so much to say to her. But they had arrived in front of the room, and they had to continue the conversation at a later time should they both survive the upcoming game. “We’ll talk later. Be careful for now,” he reminded her as he unlocked the door.   This room was a stark contrast to the dark chamber they had entered the day before. The walls were pristine white, and the floor coated in dark grey flooring. There were seven glass boxes placed next to each other like the ones used by magicians for a vanishing trick. There was a weird disturbing pipe connected to the top of every glass box. In front of it, against the corner of the opposite wall, was a large screen monitor flashing the words to ‘Enter a Chamber.’   “I suppose the chamber is the glass box,” Jung Kook guessed, being the first one to move up to it. He knocked on the glass, testing its durability. The material was thick and seemingly unbreakable. He entered the small confined space, locking the entrance. He heard some mechanical buzzing sound, indicating the glass was truly sealed.   “So we are going to be locked up again.” Ji Soo rolled her eyes. At least they’d have more freedom than being tied to the chair of death.   As everyone resumed their position, they noticed a digital touch screen monitor in front of each individual along with a stylus pen provided. The screen displayed the first set of questions whereby they had to pick one of the four natural elements. Quite random, but they went along to proceed with the game. Yoon Gi, Ye In, and Myung Eun chose water. Ho Seok and Ji Ae both picked ground. Jung Kook was the only one who opted for fire. Ji Soo selected air.   Then the screen in front flashed in bright contrasting colors that caught everyone’s attention simultaneously. It was almost too cheerful and happy for their current situation. Ye In’s individual screen monitor suddenly lit up, prompting her to choose one of the twelve categories displayed in colorful boxes that were also displayed on the big screen.   “Am I choosing a category for myself?” She asked, unsure whether she had remembered the mission card correctly.   “I think you have to choose a category for the next player,” Ji Soo remembered based off the mission card. She stared at everyone, realizing she was on the far left side while Ye In was on the right end. “Choose a question for me.”   Ye In nodded and took a look at the categories. She soon realized the truth associated to each category, constricting her heart. Architecture, art history, audio engineering, criminology, culinary arts, linguistics, marketing, mathematics, music, pharmaceutical science, psychology, and theatre arts. These were their majors.   Her finger trembled momentarily, gasping for air at the remembrance of those who passed away. But the others were waiting for her. So she chose for Ji Soo the one subject the other excelled in, art history.   A painting soon appeared on screen of a man who had fallen off a horse while another man stood looking by the side. Anyone could notice the amazing contrast of brightness used. The shadows were darkened and the highlights were illuminated to create the dramatic moment captured within the painting.   Then a question appeared on screen: What is the name of this painting?   “The Conversion on the Way to Damascus by Caravaggio!” Ji Soo yelled out quickly, in case if the timing of an answer was going to affect anything. But nothing happened.   “Is it the right answer?” Ye In asked confused.   “Yes, I am sure this is the painting by Caravaggio that depicts an important key moment in Christianity. It has to be right,” Ji Soo insisted. She looked around her for some kind of hint, and finally realized what she should’ve done all along.   She grabbed the stylus and wrote the answer down on the small monitor screen in front of her. It was an answer box, and whatever she wrote was directly copied unto the big screen for everyone to see.   Ye In blinked her eyes

Chapter 26: Truth to be told, this was probably the most exciting and thrilling story I've ever read! Really, I'm not exaggerating! It was also my first thriller, yet I don't regret reading it. Your story had the perfect balance of mystery and revealing the true nature of every player. I was always on the edge of my seat after every chapter, small wonder I read the whole story in one day. I just couldn't stop!
I'll continue in the next comment, so that I wouldn't give away hints and spoilers. :D
