A Lack of Introduction
Catch A Falling StarLee Minhyuk walked through the halls of University. He was in his final year, majoring in finance and accountancy. After finishing lectures for the day, he glanced to his watch and decided to have lunch. He entered the cafeteria and saw his friends occupying one table. He bought his meal and joined them. A few moments passed and he felt eyes on him. He turned over his right shoulder and met the gazes of a few younger year students who smiled shyly at him as the said hello.
"Hello ladies." He greeted them politely before turning back around.
"Yah Minhyuk hyung's still the ladies man I see!" Sungjae teased.
"Ladies man, my . He hasn't even dated anyone since high school." Changsub teased as well.
"Arasso arasso, let me eat" Minhyuk chuckled. His friends had mercy and let him eat peacefully. They chatted on about football, courseworks and other things.
After his friends had left, he realised he had a few hours to spare before his practice starts. He heads for the library in hope to get some work done - that way he'd be able to rest a bit tonight. As he entered, the librarian greeted him happily. She was in her 60s and worked in the library more than half of her life. She knew students well especially the ones who come to the library often.
"Anneyong Mrs. Choi" he whispered and waved while coming closet to her work station.
"No practice today?" She asked with a motherly tone.
"In a few hours." He said nodding. "But I have some assignments to finish."
"Aigoo, that's our Minhyuk!" She cooed. "Off you go then!"
Minhyuk smiled and bowed politely before heading off to find a vacant seat to study. He guessed that it was peak hour since the library was full. He opened his book and started working on his assignment. About two hours later, he checked his watch for the time and decided to head off. He looked around the library before leaving. It was pretty empty by now. As he was walking out, he saw her enter the library.
Moon Byul Yi, an engineering student with ash brown hair entered the library and greeted Mrs. Choi brightly before going to find a table to study. Minhyuk always saw her there, she was always emersed in her revision, taking notes and occasionally adjusting her glasses. Sometimes she had her friends with her but other times she was alone. She was quite pretty in Minhyuk's perspective, but he never got the urge to approach her. Deciding that it was definitely time to go, Minhyuk headed off to football practice.
Football practice went smoothly for Minhyuk. Once practice was over, he headed back to the university locker room to shower and wash up. Along the way, several girls greeted and complimented him to which he politely thanked them. He made sure he didn't forget anything before leaving for home. He rushed up the stairs and through the hallways and suddenly DUSHHHH! He had run into someone, no one fell over or anything but the person's books were on the floor.
"Mianhe, I didn't mean to knock you." He said as he bent down staight away to pick up the person's books.
"Aniya, I should've been more careful." A soft voice called out. Minhyuk got up after retrieving the books and met its owner. It was none other than the girl he had previously see in library.
"Oh, hi." Minhyuk said in a daze. She looked at him and adjusted her glasses before greeting him back.
"Anneyong.." she greeted half awkwardly and half hessitantly.
Before Minhyuk could say anything further, the exit door opened and a voice called out,
"Byul ah, you coming?" Minhyuk turned around and saw Kim Yong Sun's - or better known as Solar's- upper half behind the semi-opened door. He knew her because she was one of the top music majors in university. She was in the same course as Sungjae and not to mention, she was always with Moonbyul and two other girls during lunch or at the library. Moonbyul nodded and smiled. "Nae." Solar smiled back and went to wait outside.
"Well, I guess I better get going." Moonbyul said softly, turning back to Minhyuk.
"Oh alright." He said nodding and looking down. He had almost forgot that he was still holding her books. "Mianhe, here you go."
"Gomawo." Moonbyul thanked as she received the books from his hold. She then excused herself with a slight bow. "I'll see you around. Bye" with that, she made her way to the door and exited.
Moonbyul met Solar outside and was greeted by a question, "What was that all about?"
Moonbyul shrugged before replying. "I bumped into him while reaching for the doors. He was running I think. Must be in rush to somewhere."
"Ah I see." Solar nodded. "Come on, the girls are probably dying of old age." She joked as she pulled Moonbyul by her arm to the place she promised she'd meet the other two.
"Unniesssss!" Jung Whee In, an F&A major exclaimed from where she sat with her fellow coursemate, Ahn Hyejin or better known as Hwasa. "What took you so long?"
"Mianhe, someone bumped into Byulie." Solar answered.
"Really? What a meanyyy!" Whee In accused in a cute voice that made the two older girls laugh. Moonbyul slung her arms around Whee In.
"Aniya, it was an accident." She explained. "Don't worry too much about me."
"Come on, it's getting late and I'm hungryyyy!" Hwasa whined as she got up and headed for the car. "Who's cooking tonight?" She asked as her stomach grumbled.
"I'll make kimchi fried rice if you want?" Solar volunteered as she entered the passenger side door.
"Wah, you angel!" Hwasa said as she took her seat beside Whee In at the back of a Toyota Prius C. "Byul unnie, step on it!"
Moonbyul laughed and shaked her head. "Arasso madam!"
