♦HE'S THANKFUL♦

Jiyong slowly opens his eyes then he slowly lifts a hand and places it against his chest.

His heart’s beating.

He’s alive.

He did it.

Finally, He did it.

‘Aren’t you proud of me, Yumi?’ He muses.

“Well, how are you feeling?”

He turned over to Kim who’s looking over the heart monitor that’s connected to his body.

“Did it work?” Jiyong asks quietly, staring at the beeping heart monitor.

“Yes, congratulations. You have a new heart.” Kim says cheerfully, but Jiyong can hear something off from the tone of her voice.

“What about Yumi? Did she make it?” Jiyong asks, remembering that Yumi had the surgery on the same day as his.

“I’d appreciate it if you would focus on your own healing for now.” Kim huffs, writing something down on her clipboard.

“I’ll go and call your parents, they’ve been wanting to see you so badly.”

Jiyong nods weakly and watches as Kim walks out of the room.

He closes his eyes again and places a hand on his beating heart, “Thank you whoever you are.”
