Tzuyu fell into the warm ups, keeping up with the short sprints up and down the base lines and the easy air ball tosses. She itched to throw the ball harder but she held back as she followed along.

The older girls on the team watched and lazily strolled behind them as they practiced their catching.

Although Tzuyu had no trouble throwing the ball directly to Chaeyoung or vice versa, it was clear to her that some of the other girls clearly struggled with the task.

When they moved on to batting, Tzuyu could almost jump with excitement as she waited for her turn to bat. It had been a long time since she had felt the adrenaline of waiting for a good pitch. Chaeyoung stood in front of her debating on which two bats to hit with.

The batting drill would have the girls hitting ten balls from the machine and five from their current starting pitcher Nayeon. While she waited for her turn she studied the pitcher and noticed that she had a bit of weak leg. She was a good pitcher but not the strongest.

“Hey, what bat do you think I should use?” Chaeyoung broke her from her focus, holding them both out.

Tzuyu studied them and pointed to the one she held with her right hand, “That one.”

Chaeyoung smiled, “I was thinking the same, thanks.”

Soon enough it was Chaeyoung's turn and Tzuyu was on deck.

“Chaeyoung, fighting!” Tzuyu shouted out, watching her step up to the plate.

Chaeyoung turned back to give her a thumbs up before she focused on the pitch.

Tzuyu watched, anticipating to see what kind of batter Chaeyoung was. She knew that most pitchers would find it difficult to pitch to someone at Chaeyoung's height and she hoped that Chaeyoung knew how to take that in her advantage. Having a member at Chaeyoung's height would be beneficial to the team and she hoped the coach took that in consideration when it came time to choosing.

The machine hummed as it started up and Tzuyu watched Chaeyoung bounce on her feet as she waited for the ball to come.

Tzuyu wished she could have watched it in slow motion as the ball flew towards Chaeyoung's strikezone and Chaeyoung swung her bat. The ball met the bat with sharp crack and then the ball was flying to fast for Tzuyu to see.

A home run.

Tzuyu stared with wide eyes as the ball landed out of perimeter.

She felt the urge to run up to Chaeyoung and congratulate her and shake her for deceiving her. But she waited, watching as Chaeyoung prepared for her next ball. After the initial shock, the older girls all began hollering in anticipation for her next hit.

Her next balls made it as far as the fence but not quiet over it. It was still impressive to see the ball travel so far.

Chaeyoung for sure would have spot on the team.

After her turn with the machine was over, Nayeon walked up to the mound to pitch for her. Tzuyu watched wondering how a lacking pitcher would pitch to a small player like Chaeyoung, who was obviously a skilled hitter.

Nayeon managed to make the ball into Chaeyoung's strike zone but Chaeyoung was still managed to hit the ball far enough.

Chaeyoung's batting skills made her the perfect candidate for a pinch hitter.
