What's wrong with me?

My Untouchable Prince
Beep.  Beep.  Beep.

"Ughhh..."  I groaned in frustration at the annoying voice of my alarm clock.

Since I wasn't able to get a wink of sleep because of a frustrating night, I slammed my hand on the snooze button and snuggled deeper into my blanket.

After a few minutes of peace, I abruptly opened my eyes and grabbed my clock.  "7:30 AM?!?!" I shrieked.  I hastily jumped off my bed, but thanks to my clumsy genes I inherited from my parents (probably my dad), I ended up falling flat on my face.

Oh crap.  What a great way to start the day. I sarcastically thought with my cheek kissing the floor.  After getting prepared for school, I zoomed down past the stairs, my loud footsteps only heard throughout the whole house.

"Mom?  Dad?" I called out, only to be greeted by silence.  They must've gone somewhere.

I was right because I saw a yellow sticky note attached to the refrigerator when I entered the kitchen for my breakfast.

Sorry ~~~~ and Junah.  I had to go accompany your dad at the hospital.  Make sure to eat breakfast and ~~~~, pack your brother's lunch since I had no time to do that.  Love you!

With lots of love,
Mom

I rolled my eyes.  There was no doubt about it; I was going to be late today.

I quickly rolled some kimbap for my brother's lunch and poured cereal into two bowls.

I made my way to my brother's room, which was just under the stairs.  "Junah!  You better be up by now.  We're already late!" I yelled from outside, banging on the door.

"I'm coming, I'm coming.  Just give me a minute." Junah exclaimed from the other side of the door.

"I'm leaving first.  I left you breakfast and your lunch box on the kitchen counter.  Lock the doors before you leave." I reminded and I went to the kitchen once again to slurp up my cereal.

Clumsily putting on my converses, I exited the house and unlocked my bicycle, only to find out that the tires were flat.

"Since when were they flat?  Come on, not today when I'm late." I whined.  After a few seconds of disappointment, I decided the only last choice of transportation were my legs.

After just taking two steps forward onto the pavement, I heard a car horn beep just behind of me, scaring the living daylights out of me.

I turned around to show that car a piece of my mind when I saw who was driving the pristine sports car.  That person looks really familiar.  Did I see him from somewhere?

The sports car slowly made its way beside me and the window rolled down to reveal Kiseop.

"Get in." Kiseop curtly ordered.

My jaw dropped but I was soon to react and I closed it back.

Is this a dream?  Am I going to go to school together with my Prince Charming? My face couldn't help but color red at the thought.
Kiseop noticed my lack of response and grew impatient.

"It's okay if you don't want to." He said and began to pull up his window.

"No, wait!" I shouted as I placed my hands to prevent the window from closing.  Kiseop looked at me, bewildered.  "Yah, be careful!  You could've hurt yourself." Kiseop said with furrowed eyebrows.

"You can't take back your offer." I said with a smile as I hopped onto his car.  Kiseop scoffed but said no more as he started the engine and drove.

I can't believe this is happening.  If only this could happen everyday, I don't care even if I'm late to school.  This is happiness.  This is a dream.  This is...  awkward...  I thought while playing with my fingers.  The silence was just too much for me to bear.

"So, ummm.  If you don't mind..." I trailed on.

"What?" Kiseop curtly replied while keeping his eyes on the road.  "I was just wondering why you decided to help me today." I asked, staring at my shoes because I didn't dare look at Kiseop's shining handsome face.

"I was just driving by when I saw you." He answered.  My heart started beating faster.  Does this mean he actually cares for me?

"What kind of student comes out of her house at the time school starts?  Since I'm generous, I decided to do you a favor and help you for once." Kiseop continued and my heart immediately dropped.

So much for caring about me.  I thought with an annoyed grimace.

"Ahhh, I see." I said with a little bit of pressure in my voice.

I sneaked a peek at Kiseop only to find him look a bit uneasy.  He looked like he was contemplating whether to talk or not.  Finally clearing his throat, Kiseop muttered a soft 'thank you'.

"For that day." Kiseop added, still keeping his eyes on the road.  "Huh?" I stupidly said while racking my brains to remember any good deeds I did for Kiseop.  Ahhh, I think he must mean the day I cleaned the toilet for him.

"Your welcome.  It wasn't much." I replied with a beam.  My cold prince isn't really that cold.  He thanked me.  He THANKED me!  Throughout the rest of the ride, I couldn't help but smile like a fool.

After some time, we finally arrived at the school's parking lot.

"You can get off now." Kiseop announced while unbuckling his seatbelt.

"Ah, okay.  Aren't you going to get off as well?" I asked Kiseop while reaching for the door handle.

My cold prince raised an eyebrow as if he was judging me.  "Do you expect me to go together with you for the whole school to see?"

But everyone's in class.  There isn't anyone out here.  I bit my lip to stop myself from speaking out my thoughts.  I wasn't sure whether he was annoyed or angry but he sure was intimidating.

I shouldn't push my luck.  Getting a ride from him is good enough for me.  I thought to myself as I quickly shook my head.  "Thanks for the ride." I last said before getting off the car and running off to my class.

As soon as I arrived in the classroom, I sighed in relief when I saw that the teacher had not arrived yet.  I searched for my friend Hyuna and spotted her standing at the stairway.  But she looked as if she was looking for someone; her eyes were dashing here and there.

"Good morning chingu!" I cheerily sing-songed while making my way to her.  "Who are you searching for?" I asked, plopping down my seat next to her.

My voice seemed to break Hyuna away from her thoughts as she finally noticed me.  "Oh, ~~~~?  Did you just arrive?  I was looking for Kiseop oppa. I didn't see him this morning. Did you see him?" Hyuna asked with a pout.

I was at a lost for words.  If I told Hyuna that I came with Kiseop, he would kill me because he doesn't want gossip and rumours to float around.  "I...  Ummm, well..."

Fortunately Hyuna decided not to wait for my answer anymore when she found Kiseop cooly climbing up the stairs.
Hyuna's face immediately brightened as she waved energetically.  "Oppa!  I was waiting for you!"  Even though Kiseop showed lack of response, it did not dampen Hyuna's spirit as she ran over to Kiseop and clung onto his arm.

My eyes widened and my heart felt like it was being stabbed.  What just happened?  Why am I feeling this way?

Before I could dwell into my feelings any furthur, the classroom door slammed open and our teacher entered.

Hyuna's face fell as she looked to Kiseop with a pout.  "Oppa, let's have lunch together okay?"

Kiseop just sighed as he curtly nodded his head.  "Yah!  What are you two doing?  Get back to your classes; it's starting." The teacher scolded.

---------------------------------------

After two tedious periods of History and Biology, the bell finally rang.  Students silently fist-pumped in joy while Hyuna beamed.

"Hurry up.  Let's go and eat with my oppas!" Hyuna exclaimed.

I looked at her, puzzled. "With who?"

"Who else, pabo?  Kiseop oppa and Kevin oppa~  I told them to eat together with us." She answered as she wasted no time grabbing my arm and dragging me off to the cafeteria.

"Yaaa!" I yelled as I quickly threw my pen to my desk before Hyuna could drag me any furthur away from my table.

We arrived at the cafeteria, although I didn't feel like eating at the thought of staying in the same table as Kiseop.  Grabbing a tray and following Hyuna, we both queued up for lunch.

At that moment, I felt a hand grab my shoulder and I swiftly turned around only to see Kevin.

"Yo!" Kevin greeted with an eye smile.  "How's everything going?" He asked while putting a milk carton onto his tray.

Looking at his face suddenly reminded of the awkward night between me and him.

"Everything's going good.  And you?" I meekly asked as the lunch lady handed me over a bowl of seaweed soup.  "Good." Kevin answered with a smile.

I couldn't help but grin back at Kevin because his smile was contagious.

"Ummm, about yesterday.  I want to apologize." Kevin suddenly said out of the blue.  But before he could continue, Hyuna cut in.

"Yo Kevin! Let's go secure a spot before someone else does." Hyuna suggested and scanned the area to find the one person she had been looking for starting from this morning.

"I see Kiseop!  Let's go." Hyuna squealed as she made her way to Kiseop's table while me and Kevin eventually followed her.

Kiseop looked up when he saw Hyuna skipping to his table and he mentally sighed.  Hyuna was not hesitant in taking the seat right next to Kiseop.  So, me and Kevin ended up sitting right across them.

Hyuna scooted way too close to Kiseop as she started putting some of her food onto his tray.

"Oppa, you should eat a lot.  Seeing oppa skinny really breaks my heart." Hyuna pouted as she tried to feed him.

"Thanks", Kiseop muttered, utterly embarrassed.  Even though Hyuna was my friend, I had to admit, she was damn clingy and cutesy that it was a bit annoying.
Then Hyuna dug out a spoonful of cafeteria food and held the spoon up to Kiseop's mouth.

"Say ahh!" Hyuna cooed.  Not wanting to be under her torment any longer, Kiseop sighed in frustration as he opened his mouth.  Hyuna shoved the spoon inside and giggled in delight.

"Satisfied?" Kiseop growled as he chewed on the food with a sour expression.

"Yes!" Hyuna answered with a bright beam, oblivious to the glare that Kiseop shot her.  Looking at the two, I felt sick to my stomach and my chest suddenly felt stuffy.  But all I did was chew on my food silently.

"Oppa, did you know that there’s a new movie up on cinemas? I heard it’s really good. Should we go watch it together this weekend?" Hyuna asked in excitement.

"I'm not free." Kiseop immediately shot down her offer.  I smugly smiled at his reply but quickly replaced it with a nonchalant expression.

"Why oppa? It’s been so long since we hung out together. Please?  Let's go okay?" Hyuna pouted in disappointment.  Before Hyuna could continue her whining, Kiseop finally broke down and gave in.  "Fine, I get it!  Now stop being noisy." Kiseop begged as he massaged his temples.

My jaw dropped down at Kiseop's answer, never thinking that he would give in that easily to Hyuna.  *She's one powerful lady, that Hyuna.* I thought to myself, a bit envious.

"Okay!  Saturday at 4 PM; don't be late." Hyuna reminded, with a smile as bright as the sun.

*They're going out on a date then.  It must be a date.  And since they're going out on a date, that must mean that they're dating.* My head ached at the word 'date' and I felt the sudden urge to vomit out my lunch.

-----------------------------------

Ding Dang Dong!

The school bell shrilled loudly, announcing the end of school for today.  As usual, students were packing up their books as fast as lightning, not wanting to waste a single a second on staying in school.

The hallways were swarmed with students trying to get to the exit.  Me and Hyuna were one of those students as we tried to swim our way through the crowd and fortunately, we found ourselves out of the school sooner than expected.

"I don't see your car, Hyuna." I told her as I searched for the silver Mark II.

"That's because my stupid car driver couldn't make it today." Hyuna said with a frown on her face.  "But no worries my friend.  After all, I have Kiseop oppa to send me off." Hyuna told me with a giggle.

Just when she was speaking about him, Hyuna and me both spotted Kiseop coming out of the school with his car keys jingling in one hand.
Hyuna sneakily made her way to his car as I just stood there silently, watching her every move.  Kiseop, oblivious of Hyuna's prescence, unlocked his car with a click of his car key and smoothly got into his automobile.

Hyuna saw this as the golden opportunity as she quickly jumped into his car along with him and buckled herself into the front car seat, right next to a wide-eyed Kiseop.

"See you tomorrow, ~~~~!" Hyuna said to me, waving her hand.  Kiseop, on the other hand, did not look happy. "What do you think you're doing?" Kiseop growled.

"My driver couldn't make it today and so I have no way to go back home." Hyuna told Kiseop with a pout.  "There's this thing called a taxi." Kiseop snapped back.

"Just this once, oppa!  Please?" Hyuna pleaded Kiseop with her puppy eyes.  I would've laughed at the situation if I weren't feeling so upset and depressed. My happiness this morning only lasted for a short while.

"Hyuna, this is the first and the last time ok?", Kiseop reminded her.  She nodded her head and turned to look at me once more.  "Bye ~~~~!" She singsonged while Kiseop managed to spare me a glance.

Wishing that he would at least offer me a ride back home as well, I looked back with hopeful eyes.  But then again, who was I kidding?
*Bye bye...* I sadly called out in my mind as the car zoomed off, leaving behind flying dust and a broken heart.

Other students also seemed to notice the interaction between Kiseop and Hyuna as they spoke to one another in awe.

"That Hyuna is just so lucky to have a boyfriend like Kiseop.  I wish my boyfriend would send me back home too." One girl said to her friend, green with envy.

“Kiseop is not worthy for my queen!  Why I should go and rip him to pieces!" Another student angrily exclaimed while his friends tried to calm him down.

But no matter how loud the commotion was among the students, I could not hear anything except for the sound of my heart being slowly ripped into pieces.
