Jung Wheein (pt II)
class of 2017»»---¤---««
“I wish the ground would just swallow me up right now at this very moment.” Wheein thinks to herself. There she stood, in front of Ahn Hyejin who wore a perplexed expression on her face. Neither of them had moved - not one muscle. Even breathing seemed to be difficult at this point - though that was mainly for her, she couldn’t speak for the other girl.
What made things worse was that the whole cafeteria was waiting with baited breath for the the popular girl’s next move which would either way be detrimental for the smaller girl. After all, no one spoke to Ahn Hyejin like that and got away with it.
But to their utter surprise (and for some - disappointment), Ahn Hyejin breezes past her and rejoins her group without a word.

Wheein lets out a sigh of relief, her hands quiver as she abandons her tray with all the other discarded ones. Her mind was flooding with different scenarios on how that incident could have panned out - none of which were great.
“Holy s**t!” Moonbyul whispers to her. Her best and only friend it seems, had managed to find her way through the now disappearing crowd that had formed just mere moments ago. “Well that’s one way of getting her attention.” She muses.
Wheein turns and looks at her, her mind still not grasping what had happened, “I can’t believe I did that.”
“Hey it wasn’t that bad. She didn’t seem fussed.” Moonbyul reassures her with a pat on the shoulder.
The smaller girl shakes her head, “That’s what I mean,” She looks at Moonbyul with a hint of sadness, “I’m not even worth a reaction.” She says sadly.

Wheein was confused. She had come to that conclusion whilst staring absentmindedly at her notebook in front of her.
Sure, what she did wasn’t really that bad. But even still - not even one word from her? She wasn’t even worth a second glance. And that made Wheein somewhat upset; and this made her even more confused.
She frowns. What was wrong with her? She taps her pencil against her head. Why was she upset at the fact that Ahn Hyejin didn’t publicly humiliate her in front of the entire school?
Am I a masochist? She thinks to herself.
Wheein rolls her eyes at herself for letting her thoughts go in that particular direction. No, I’m not going to think about this anymore. I have to focus.

“How’s my cute lil friend doing?” Moonbyul teases as she leans against her friend’s locker.
Wheein scowls and nudges her aside so she can open it, “I’ve been better.”
“You’re seriously not still thinking about it, are you?” Moonbyul asks, all playfulness disappearing almost instantly in her tone. Moonbyul knew Wheein all too well. She was a sensitive little soul. She knew that Wheein prides herself in overthinking. If overthinking were a sport, Wheein could potentially be the world champion - hands down.
“I can’t help it.”
“Look, it’s a good thing that she didn’t say anything.”
Wheein looks at her with raised brows which prompted Moonbyul to add, “Are you telling me that you’d be happy if she were to say something b**chy to you?”
Wheein shrugs, “Better than nothing.”
“Sometimes I wonder what goes on in that head of yours.”
“Same.”

1 friend request : Ahn Hyejin
“Holy. F**king. S**t.” Wheein’s eyes widen at her phone screen. Her heart was beating irritably loud - so loud she couldn’t even hear her thoughts.
She jumps onto her bed excitedly tossing the phone aside momentarily for her mini celebration which consisted of jumping up and down like a child for 2 whole minutes.
Wow oh wow. She lands on her back - out of breath and if her heart wasn’t beating loud enough earlier - it certainly was now and was only moments from leaping out of her chest.
She grabs her phone and smiles giddily.
“Holy crap.” She whispers to herself in disbelief.
Her finger hovers over the very very small icon preview of Hyejin whilst doing so, her phone slips out of her grip and lands smack down on her face.
“Ow. F**k.” Wheein grimaces in pain. Laying down whilst using her phone was a definite no no but in the midst of her excitement , she had momentarily forgot about that.
She sits up properly and returns her attention back to her phone.
....No.
Her eyes widen.
No.
No, this cannot be happening.
She drops her phone onto the floor in horror.
Friend request denied.
