Chapter 12

  After getting herself treated, Irene made her way to the agency's chapel. She needs time for herself. She needs some peace and quiet and the chapel is just the place for her. Despite the smiles she gave everyone, she's being eaten by guilt every day.    The events that happened today was too much for her to handle but she can't show everyone her quivering side as many people were rellying on her. The way she killed her enemies like they were pieces of meat, the way she shot Hiachi straight to the head without hesitation made her question herself why she stayed at her job. She should be immune to any guilt by now. She took countless lives just to protect more but her heart says otherwise. The faces of the nameless lives she killed haunted her in her dreams.    She still remembers the first time she has to take someone's life.   Flashback    "Leave or I'll blow her brains out!" The man shouted as he pressed his gun harder to the woman's temple.    "Save her Unnie! Eomma! Let her go you bastard!" The womans child pleaded with damp eyes.    "That wouldn't do anything! You'll end up in jail anyways!" Irene aimed her gun at the man.    "I'd rather die." The man tighten his grip on the gun's trigger.    "Eomma!" the girl called out   *Bang*   Everything went silent. The man dropped to the floor, lifeless. Irene shot the man straight to the head. The woman immediately ran to her child and hugged her like there's no tomorrow. Irene on the other hand froze in place. She dropped to her knees with a face devoid of any emotion but a tear trickled down her cheeks says otherwise.    End of flashback    The forgotten memory suddenly cameback. The situation was too familiar with what happened to Hiachi. Too familiar, it hurts emotionaly.  "Unnie? Here again?" A soft voice snapped her out. "Krystal?" Irene looks up at her fellow alpha. "Why don't you tell me what's wrong. You can always share your worries with me." Krystal's smile screamed that it's okay to show her vulnerable side. "Im scared Krystal." Krystal's brows furrowed in worry. "Of what?" "Of myself." Silence. Irene took this as a sign from Krystal to continue. "It's scary that I have the power to end someone's life just because of our job. I don't even know their names or if I even deserve knowing after I killed them." Irene finishes with a long sigh.    Irene's muscles tensed but immediately relaxed when Krystal wrapped her arms around her waist and rested her head on Irene's shoulder. "That's exactly what I felt after I got my first one. They say it's for goodluck but I feared it at first. I tried to avoid the 'goodluck' but there are times where you have to choose. Im glad I shot that guy dead." Krystal reffered to the mission that she and Irene shared before. "Why are you even glad?" Irene was shocked at what she heard but then Krytal said, "Im glad because if I didn't kill him, he could've harm more. Just think of it as protecting the lives of the people we promised serve everytime you have to choose to take one." Irene then remembers why she chose to stay at her job. She promised to protect her country and the people. She was comforted.    ___   "Everyone, we have confirmed a spy within us." Everyone's eyes were focused on Seunghyeon. "Hiachi is working for someone in this room." Gasps were heard from the four corner room. "What do you mean, director?" Leeteuk asked. "Hiachi has no interest in the agency's secrets as he is just like any other dirty business man. Atleast not him. Hiachi was used as a disguise by our Mr.culprit so he could take the blame instead of our hidden foe." "That's why the three of us will personally investigate this case. We cannot take any chances. I hope you understand." Soohyun eyed every member of the board. "Yes we fully understand the situation we are in. But if you and Mr.Bae are investigating, who would be the third one?" Donghae's question gathered the board's attention.    "That would be-"   "Good evening ladies and gentleman. It's feels good to be finally back." A man within his middle 40's, same as Seunghyeon and Soohyun, entered the board meeting. Eveyone in the room stood up as a sign of respect. "Minho, you lil' punk." Seunghyeon and Soohyun gave 'Minho' a brotherly hug and hits everyone with the realization seeing the trio.    "It's great to have you back, Mr.Kang."   ___   Joohyun makes her way to her father's office. She's confused why but she knew better than to ask as it is still work. She knocked the door thrice and Seunghyeon gave her permission to come in. Joohyun bowed to her fat
