Chapter 44
Lost LoveKai went to pick Areum up.
“You ready?” he said with a huge smile on his face.
Areum looked at him weirdly. “For lunch?” she laughed. “I guess.”
Kai just smirked and drive off. They went to eat lunch at a restaurant together. Once they were done they walked back out to Kai’s car.
“Thank you for lunch. You didn’t have to pay for me Jongin.”
“I wanted to.”
“So where are we going now? You didn’t say much about what you wanted to talk about.” “You’ll find out later.” He smirked and drove off. When the car stopped they were in front of a carnival. Areum looked at Kai who was smiling at her.
“Why are we here?” she asked as they stepped out of the car.
“Its been awhile since I’ve been and who better to go with me than you?” he grinned at her. “Lets go!” he took her hand and dragged her in.
They played carnival games such as water gun shooting, basket throwing, and more. It was exactly like how their first date went 5 years ago only this time Kai knew how he felt about the girl next to him. His heart danced with joy at her laughter and smile throughout the whole day.
“Jongin look at that plush toy! Its so cute!” Areum yelled out excitedly as she dragged Kai to the booth.
“Its so cute!” she gushed as she looked at the toys.
“Do you want one?” Kai asked. Areum looked at him and nodded excitedly.
“I’ll win it for you then. Mister how do we win?” he asked the booth owner.
“Ah, its quite easy.” The man said. “You see this ball? All you need to do it make it into this basket. Make three baskets, you win.” They looked at the baskets. Instead of standing up the baskets were sideways and mounted on the wall.
“That’s easy. Whats the catch?”
“You’ll see.” He grinned.
Kai paid for his turn and got three balls. He threw the first one. It was too strong and it bounced back out. He threw the first one it was too short and didn’t make it into the basket. The third one got in but rolled around the basket and fell out. Kai’s mouth dropped.
“What the…”
The shop owner laughed. “Not as easy as it looks right?”
“Its ok Jongin.” Areum spoke up.
“No I will win it no matter what!” Kai said with determination. He handed the shop owner money and got a basket full of balls. “I will win for you Areum watch me!” he yelled out as he started his attempts.
Areum couldn’t help but laugh and thought of how adorable he looked. “I believe in you Jongin!”
The first ball went in the basket. “DID YOU SEE THAT?!”
“YEAH I DID! 2 MORE! GO KIM JONGIN GO! GO GO!” she cheered him on. After half an hour of trying Kai was finally able to win.
The booth owner handed them their prize. “You two make a great couple. Take care of her young man.” He looked over at Areum as he handed her the plush toy. “Treat him nicely he’s a keeper.” He winked at her. Areum just smiled as the he went over to another player.
“He’s right you know.”
“Huh?”
“That I’m a keeper.” He grinned.
Areum pushed him and laughed. “Shouldn’t you say that to Krystal instead?”
Kai ignored her and looked up. “Hey before we leave can we go on that ride?” he asked.
“Which one?”
“That one.” He pointed.
Areum looked up and smiled. “Sure.”
The two got on the ferris wheel and it started moving.
“I haven’t been on one in forever.” Areum said as she looked out the small window.
“Me neither. Ever since that one time with you.”
Areum looked down at her feet, hugging her toy. “Yeah, its been 5 years. I’m glad we’re friends now.” she said softly and smiled at him.
Kai swallowed, “What if, what if I don’t want to be friends with you?”

“I want to be with you Areum.” Kai said softly. “I want to be with you Areum. It took me 5 years to figure
