"That princess in the pink dress you met at the ball last night, Bona, is the reincarnation of Guinevere," speaks up Minhyuk as he looks out the window away from Hyungwon's curious gaze.
The both of them were in the study room attempting to create a new peace treaty that would be presented to all the royal guests. At first, it was relatively silent as Hyungwon flipped through their past treaties in order to gather resources for the formation of the new one while asking for Minhyuk's opinion every once in a while but when Hyungwon mentioned the kingdom east of Camelot Minhyuk suddenly turned cold towards him. This was the first time Minhyuk spoke up in over the past hour of awkward silence the two of them sat through.
"Does Guinevere play an important role in King Arthur's story? Should I converse with Princess Bona should she be of help to us on our later adventures?" inquires Hyungwon passively. He remembers the princess well, she left quite an impression on him with her remarkable beauty but it seemed that she was rather reserved much like himself. Princess Bona didn't take much to joining the other royal ladies rather she preferred to stay close to her personal maid servant, who she introduced to Hyungwon as Cheng Xiao.
"…Guinevere was King Arthur's wife," answers Minhyuk quietly, "It's destiny that has brought the both of you together again. There's not a doubt in my mind that her father will present you with a marriage proposal at the end of the day tomorrow to strengthen the relationship between Camelot and the Eastern Kingdom. She's a beautiful princess, suited for a King like you in every way…"
Hyungwon almost chokes on his spit as he snaps his head up in alarm to stare at Minhyuk incredulously. He doesn't like where this conversation is going nor does he like the way that the white-haired warlock refuses to face him, "…Minhyuk-"
"I'm tired…" Minhyuk stands from his seat suddenly, "I believe the rest of the peace treaty can be finished by yourself, I think I'll go to bed now. Goodnight Hyungwon."
Before Hyungwon even got the chance to call out to the other again Minhyuk was already out the door without another word. Hyungwon sighs as he stares at the closed door offensively, "Destiny huh?"
When morning came, Hyungwon took his place at the council hall along with his fellow royal guests. He didn't have much sleep the night before due to all the late night thinking that kept him up but that didn't prevent him from getting his duties done. The peace treaty was completed and thankfully agreed upon with minimal edits that satisfied everyone one way or another.
The only thing that bothered Hyungwon the most and kept him distracted was the fact that Minhyuk was no where in sight since the white-haired warlock left him in the study room last night. As his guests began to clear out of the council room once their meeting had finished, Hyungwon made a mental note to go look for Minhyuk as soon as he placed the treaty in a safe place.
Although just as he made his way outside, he is stopped in the hallway by none other than King Kyungji of the Easter Kingdom and his daughter Princess Bona.
"Ah, Hyungwon if I may have a bit of your time, I believe this will be of your interest," Kyungji starts off.
Hyungwon glances at the two with confusion, mainly because they had just finished the council meeting and there was nothing more to discuss about it unless all other parties were called back. "Of course but if it's anything about the meeting I would need to call the other guests-"
"Oh no need this is a rather more personal affair," replies Kyungji quickly as he ushers his daughter forward.
Bona smiles at Hyungwon and bows politely at him but there's an indiscernible nervousness about her that Hyungwon notices in her expression. "It's a pleasure to be able to talk to you again after the ball, King Hyungwon."
"The pleasure is surely mine, Princess Bona." answers back Hyungwon giving Bona a reassuring smile before turning back to her father who looked quite pleased with the interaction the two were having. "You wished to discuss something personal?"
"Ah yes," Kyungji placed a hand on his daughter's shoulder and looks endearingly at her before stating, "My wonderful daughter, Bona, is the most important person in my life aside from her mother. She is not only quite the beauty but displays the very best of what every princess should be in grace, poise, and intelligence. I, like any other father, would want nothing but the best for her. The both of you are very close in age and I'm sure you will get along very well, our Kingdoms will surely benefit greatly. Which is why I wanted to propose a possible marriage arrangement between you and my daughter if you are willing to accept. "
Hyungwon was struck into shocked silence, his ears heard every word Kyungji spoke but his eyes were now on Bona who tried to give him what appeared to be a sincere look of apology. He only managed to pull himself together again when a sudden vase crashing to the floor startled him out of his momentary stupor. Hyungwon looked down the hall to the source of the noise and was met with a billowing of a cloak with a flash of bright white hair and a whisper of an incantation that put the vase back together within a blink of an eye.
"My, your young warlock seems to be in quite the rush this morning," comments Kyungji in awe with the small amount of magic that Mi
