Yongsun has a rough day today. And sadly, it has nothing to do with her job. If only that was the reason, she would just sleep and starts a new day tomorrow. But today, she just found out her boyfriend dating her because she had similar face with his ex-girlfriend. And now when they reunited – on his bed – he dumped Yongsun right away. After smashed and threw things there, Yongsun left them.

Yongsun isn’t sad at all – the only feeling she has now is mad. The only reason why she wanted to date that guy was her friends matchmaking her with him. And… she actually wanted to know how to date someone. She never thought she would have a bad ending from the start.

Mindlessly Yongsun enters a coffee shop one block away from her apartment. She doesn’t want to be alone in her empty apartment because it would make her thinking about her own stupidity of dating him. She can’t go to the bar because she has low tolerate of alcohol. She can’t make herself drank and let stranger takes her to only-God-knows-where. She doesn’t want to be kidnap either or – even worse – be someone’s one night stand.

“One Americano, please.”

The barista looks at her weirdly but Yongsun doesn’t bother her. Maybe the barista knows Yongsun never drink it before because actually Yongsun orders without thinking. She just read the first name on the menu list. And Yongsun knows she needs to order something if she wants to stay there.

“Yieks,” Yongsun immediately regrets her own choice when she tastes the bitterness from the drink. “It’s bitter.”

“Pft…” Yongsun clearly can see the barista stifled her laugh. It makes her glares at her.

“Yah! Don’t be rude to your customer,” she snaps.

“Hahaha, I’m sorry, beauty… but I think you’re not Americano type girl,” shamelessly the barista doesn’t try to hide her laugh anymore.

“Oh? Really?” Yongsun who doesn’t have a good day can’t easily accept that statement. “What type of girl I am then?”

There is a smug and cocky grin that plastered perfectly on the barista face when Yongsun threw the challenge. Yongsun almost adores it – the barista looks really handsome and beautiful at the same time with that smug and grin - if only at the same time Yongsun doesn’t feel the itch for holding on her hand from slapping her. This is the first time Yongsun feels admiration and annoyance at the same time and she definitely doesn’t like that. Yongsun doesn’t like to be confused with her own feeling.

“Here,” When Yongsun is still busy with her mind, without warning the barista serves another drink.

Yongsun glances at her own drink. She only takes one sip on it – waste money – but she knows she doesn’t want to taste it again.

“Don’t worry, this is my treat,” the barista gently smile at her. “And as return, I’ll finish yours.”

Smoothly the barista takes Yongsun’s glass and replaces it with the new one. It makes Yongsun thought this isn’t the first time for the barista flirts with her own costumer. The perfect smile and gentle words can be the proofs. But Yongsun immediately forgets what she thinks when she tastes the drink.

“Hmm…. What’s this?”

“It called Caramel Macchiato. It’s bittersweet… same with life,” the barista explains. “And my name is Moon Byulyi, at your service.”

“Definitely a player,” is the first thing that comes to Yongsun’s mind afterward.
