Chapter 02
In our dreamsShe mentally laughed at her soulmates memories from that day. He was with Jungkook, training the younger boy on how to produce songs. The younger man was very diligent but he was also hilarious. She could feel her soulmates mixed feelings, flitting between wanting to laugh at Jungkook’s antics and to smack him upside the head for messing around when they were supposed to be working. He settled for the latter making the younger boy pout. She felt guilty, even though it hadn’t been her that had hit him. She envied the relationship between them.
She was currently on a plane flying over god knows where on her way to Korea. She had to leave behind every friend she had. She hadn’t been to Korea since she was little, so she had no friends there. All of her relatives were much, much older. It didn’t leave her a lot of options when she got there. She watched as the memory faded and changed to another. This one of her soulmate sipping coffee and looking out of the window. It looked like early morning. She wondered what he had been thinking about as he stared out of the window.
Yoongi nodded along with the beat, happy with the improvements Jungkook had made with his compositions. The younger boy finished playing and looked up at Yoongi for his opinion. Yoongi removed his feet from the coffee table and offered Jungkook a smile. “Not bad.” He said with a grin which Jungkook returned. He knew the older man well enough to know that a ‘not bad’ from Yoongi was the equivalent of a ‘that’s awesome’ from anyone else. “Just don’t rush when you come out of the chorus. Take your time and stay with the beat.”
“Ok, thanks hyung.” Jungkook said brightly as he once again immersed himself in practice. Yoongi left the room, bumping into Namjoon in the hallway. “Well?” he enquired, knowing that Yoongi had high hopes for their youngest star. Yoongi smiled, “The kid’s got talent I’ll give him that. He can sing, dance, rap, and play instruments… he’s gonna do well when he debuts.” Namjoon nodded in agreement, “It was a good call signing him, even if he is young.” The two friends walked to Namjoon's office and continued their conversation about their promising new star.
Hyori looked around her new bedroom, her suitcase by her side. Some of her stuff had already been forwarded to their new apartment but most of it was still on the way. She could hear her father in the other room. She shut the door behind her and made a mental note to get a lock installed on this inside. Not having one made her a little uneasy. It was too late to go and get one until the next morning. She put her suitcase in front of her door and pulled out some pyjamas. It wasn’t overly late, but the long journey had tired her out. She was thankful that it was summer and that she didn’t require any blankets as she was too tired to sort them out.
There was something different about this dream. Yoongi couldn’t quite put his finger on it. Everything was hazy, like he was looking at everything under water. It wasn’t until Yoongi found himself looking at his soulmate instead of seeing from her perspective that he figured it out. “What the hell?” he looked around. She wasn’t in her normal room. He swore loudly as she started undressing. He spun around, not wanting to invade her privacy, even if she had no idea that he was there. “What the hell is happening?” he muttered as he heard rustling behind him. He hesitantly turned around and saw that she had finished changing and was tidying away some things in her room. He watched her as she sadly read through letters that her friends had given to her. Then the dream faded.
Hyori stood in her pyjamas in the middle of her soulmates living room. The sudden haziness throwing her off like it had done with Yoongi. “Why is it like this?” she moved around the living room and let out a small scream when her soulmate appeared in front of her. He looked around as if he had heard her before shrugging and heading to the small room which she knew held his piano. “How can I see him? Why am I not inside his head like I normally am?” she followed him to the room and stopped at the doorway as his fingers started flying over the piano keys. She closed her eyes as the sweet melody played. She loved this song. He played it often, but this was the first time she had heard it from her own body, instead of through his.
She smiled at him as he played. She couldn’t help but notice how handsome he was as he concentrated on playing. She subconsciously swayed to the beat of the song, quietly humming along with the familiar tune. The music suddenly stopped. She opened her eyes and Yoongi was looking right at her. She gasped a little, unaccustomed to his intense gaze. He frowned and stood up. She took a step back as he walked right towards her. He stopped right in front of her, pausing for only a second before he walked right passed her. “What’s going on with my dreams?” she wondered aloud as the scene before her faded to black.
