After the unfortunate disbandment of GLAM, the only idol group under BigHit Entertainment's roster was BTS—and while the success of their boy group was enough for the company to stay afloat they knew very well that fame comes and goes; in their situation it was essential to have more big names under their company to stay relevant in the industry, and so come's the creation of The Renewed Vibe or TRV, BigHit Entertainment's newest hip hop girl group.

TRV was produced and created by Bighit Entertainment in 2016 and was marketed as a hip hop girl group with superior rapping, producing, and dancing abilities. They were first known to the public in April of 2016 with releases of dance practices and mixtapes of their trainees.
