Hye Kyo's POV

I couldn't help but replay the scene when he asked for my number. I couldn't help but smile. I remember looking into his eyes when I bumped into him. His eyes are just that charming. I made my way back to my room.

"What are you thinking of?" Jin Ki snapped his fingers in my face.

"How did you get in?" I asked.

"Walk? Using my legs? And, I heard from Min Young about that guy," Jin Ki smirked at me.

"Geumanhae," I punched him lightly on his shoulder and sat down on my desk.

"Yah, Noona, I didn't say anything," Jin Ki said.

I shot him a glare but ended up laughing instead.

"The sandwich is in front of you," He said.

"Gomawo, Jin Ki ah," I smiled at him and picked up the sandwich.

Just as I was about to unwrap the sandwich and take my first bite, my phone vibrated. I took it out of my pocket and took a look. It was a message from an unknown number.

"It's me. Are you free tomorrow night for dinner?" The text said.

I smiled. I knew who it was.

"Nugu?" Jin Ki peered over.

"That man," I smiled at the phone.

"Noona, do you like him?" Jin Ki asked.

"Molla... I knew him only today," I shrugged my shoulders.

"Spend more time with him then you'll know," He said.

"Ne," I smiled.

"I have to go check on my patients. See you around!" He waved and left my room.

I looked back at my phone and replied, "Sure."

"We need your help," Another young doctor, Hana, ran into my room.

I put the sandwich aside and took my stethoscope.

"Tell me what's the situation like," I said as we rushed towards the Accident and Emergency side.

"He was involved in an accident involving a truck and his car. A metal stick has pierced through him, on his right hand side. It missed his heart but it's near his spine. Very near. He is bleeding profusely. We need you to assess the situation and carry out an operation accordingly," Hana said.

"Okay," I washed my hands and put on the gloves.

I made my way to the patient. It wasn't easy seeing these people hurting so badly.

"What's your name?" I asked the patient.

"The patient is a mute," Jin Ki said.

"Really?" I asked.

Jin Ki nodded.

"Blood type?" I asked.

"AB," A nurse replied me.

"Get as much blood pack as you can. Move him into an operating theatre now. We will operate on him with the stick there. Give him anesthesia," I ordered.

I ran back to my room and Jin Ki followed after.

"How are you going to pull out the metal stick?" He asked.

"I don't know..." I answered as I dialled for my mentor.

"Don't bother. He is in a surgery too," Jin Ki said.

"Approximately how long is the stick?" I asked, after thinking for a while.

"About a metre," Jinki said.

"Maybe we can saw it and pull it out from both sides," I suggested.

"Won't his blood overflow then?" Jin Ki asked.

"It will, but this is when the blood packs come in," I said.

"Ah..." Jin Ki nodded his head.

"Kaja," I ran towards the operating theatres.

I washed my hands and went into the operating theatre.

"We will saw the metal stick first. About here. And then Min Young and Hana, you'll pull the stick out from your side. Jin Ki and I will pull it out from here. Please use strength to minimize any further damage. Please be careful not to hurt his spine. Our goals is to get him out of this theatre alive. Araji?" I looked at everyone.

"Ne," They replied in unison.

We saw the metal and pulled out the stick. After close to eight hours, we managed to stitch the wound and send the patient to a ward.

"His name is Kang Dong Min... Mute... AB..." Jin Ki muttered to himself.

"Wae?" I asked.

"Don't you find it familiar?" He asked.

I shook my head.

"It sounds like my cousin..." Jin Ki said.

"Yah!" I smacked him on the head.

"Aren't you tired? Where on earth did you get all the strength to hit me?" Jin Ki pouted.

"Work is work, remember that. I know it's hard, but even I had to do that when operating for my mother," I said.

"Geudae..." Jin Ki sighed.

"But it's okay, you did your best today. And he is alive, so don't worry," I put my arm around Jin Ki.

Joong Ki's POV

My phone beeped and it was a reply from her.

"Sure."

"Yes!" I stood up from where I was sitting.

People around me in the restaurant stared at me. I cleared my throat and sat back down.

"Yah, how do I continue this conversation?" I asked Min Ho.

"Ask her what she is doing," He said, without looking at my phone.

I nodded my head and asked what she was doing. However, there was no reply. I waited for hours and hours, and there was still no reply. Finally, after ning whole hours, she replied, asking for a call. I immediately called her.

"Gwaenchana, Hye Kyo-sshi?" I asked the moment she picked up the call.

"Ne... I'm just very tired..." She spoke.

I could hear how tired she sounds.

"Why? Why are you so tired?" I asked.

"I performed one surgery in the morning, since last night, for eighteen hours. Then I had to find your brother. And after that, I had an emergency operation and had to operate on my patient for eight hours. I'm hungry and tired..." She said softly.

"Then shouldn't you rest?" I asked.

"I wanted to hear how you sound like through the phone," She laughed a small laugh.

"Did you say you're hungry?" I asked.

I took a look at my watch. 11pm. A great time for supper along the roadside.

"Ne..." She answered.

"Wait for me at the entrance of the hospital. I'll come pick you up in fifteen minutes," I said.

"Geundae..." She coughed.

"You're sick?" I asked.

"A... Ani... But... I have no make up on and I'm in a mess now..." She stammered.

I chuckled. She sounds cute even through the phone.

"We're going supper. Nowhere fancy, so don't worry," I smiled.

"Ah... Arasso, I'll see you," She said and hung up the phone.

"I need to go off somewhere, pay first and I'll pay you later," I told Min Ho.

"Geudae... Go meet her. Bye," He pushed me off the chair.

I glared at him and left the restaurant. I got up the car and drove to the hospital, which was nearby. Hye Kyo wasn't around, so I got down the car first and waited for her. I looked down on the ground and tried to calm my racing heart. A while later, I heard footsteps walking my way.

"Song Joong Ki-sshi?" Hye Kyo's face appeared.

I looked up and smiled at her.

"Kaja, you must be hungry," I said, and opened the car door for her.

"Wah," She joked and got up the car.

I got up the car, and bent over. She instantly moved aside.

"Buckle up yourself then," I said, and moved away.

I waited for her to buckle up before starting the car.

"Where are we going?" She asked.

"Mmm... There's this roadside store I know of," I said.

"Ah... Okay," She said.

Throughout the entire journey in the car, she was looking out of the window. We hardly talked. Not long later, we arrived at our destination. I got down the car and ran over to help her open the door.

"Gomawo," She smiled at me.

I lead her into the store, and we took a sit.

"Ahjumma, two bowls of rice cake soup," I ordered, shouting across the store.

"She is famous for her rice cake soup?" Hye Kyo asked me.

"Ne, and she has been working here for decades," I said.

The store owner carried two bowls of rice cake soup and placed it on our table.

"Finally brought your girlfriend? She's pretty," The store owner patted me on my shoulder.

"Ani, I'm not his girlfriend," Hye Kyo said.

"Gwaenchana, don't have to deny. Enjoy your supper," She said and walked back to the counter.

I chuckled.

"Wae? What's so funny?" Hye Kyo asked.

I put down my spoon and stared at her face. Her beautiful and flawless face.

"Ani, nothing," I smiled.

"Wae?" Hye Kyo whined.

"Whine another time and you'll be mine," I said, while eating, without looking up from my food.

That shut her up. As much as I want her to be mine, I need to first know her well.
