Sometime Part Two
OasisI can't believe how years passed by so quickly.
I was looking around the airport in hopes of finding my family members who were kind enough to pick me up despite how busy they are.
"Unnie! Taeyeon unnie!!" I heard someone call my name, I looked left and right and found the source, I quickly smiled at the sight of one of my cousins, Dahyun, jumping up and down from the crowd, the kid is just 13 this year.
I immediately ran to her, pulling my luggage with me, I enveloped her in a bear hug.
"Hey how have you been? Did you grow taller?"
"Hmp unnie! You know it's been five years! Don't compare me to yourself!" She teased me, aish this kid.
"Are you alone then?" I asked as I looked around more, then caught sight of a nearby van "Hyoooo!!" I shouted my lungs out as I caught sight of my fellow midget, she was the one who ran to me, I even almost fell because of the impact.
"I missed you! Omoooo" she squealed.
"I missed you too!"
"Hey, what about me?" I heard a voice behind me.
"Heechul oppa?!" I screamed "I didn't know you were also back! How have you been?" I greeted him.
"Well, university was hell!"
"I know, no need to remind" I grunted, oh how I hated my university life.
"You're saying that now that you got your license?"
"Well, it was boring, you know how I am" I told them and handed him my luggage and headed to the van "I'm going to sleep" I declared as I closed my eyes.

"Tae, we're here!" I was woken up by Hyoyeon's scream, the familiar scenery welcome me. I was really home. I went out the van and headed to my house's front door, it was strangely quiet, what I immagined was that they'll bombard me with hugs and questions, I looked behind and found no one, did they really leave me here?
I headed to our backyard, it was dark, and I just noticed that it was already night time, before I could turn to leave, lights blinded me, and I heard noises , as soon as I got used to the light, I saw a banner that wrote 'Welcome back and Happy Birthday Taeyeon', and my family, relatives, and friends we're present.
"I'm back!" I shouted and ran to hug my parents.
"What about me?!"
"Aw come on Miyoung, of course you too" and pulled her, then, everyone around us joined and had a group hug. "Since when did you all become so cheesy?" I commented as I squeezed out their arms.
"You suddenly disappeared for five years! Of course we had no choice but to do this, were you touched?" Hyoyeon butted in "And you've turned 25! Congrats, you're already half 50!"
"As if you were not also gone, and yah! Don't say it like that! I'm starting to feel old!"
"It was just for a few months that I was gone idiot. You're old!" she exclaimed as she pulled me to the side "So...how's your Jessica?"
That name...
"I don't know, the last time I saw her was..." I trailed and saw Hyoyeon anticipating "...the first time I talked with her" her face suddenly dropped "I wonder how she is? Did she become more beautiful?" I mumbled and took out my phone to stare at my wallpaper "Does she have a boyfriend...? Does she still have my jacket?"
"You should move on already, why are you so inlove with her anyway? You just saw her for a day- or hours to be exact, and you just talked to each other for minutes"
"I don't know, there are so many pretty people back in Harvard but I never found one that par with her... In my opinion. What can I do? I fell hard for someone whom I only know the name"
"*sigh, what am I going to do with you? Oh, by the way, one of our aunts is going to get married!" She squealed "You'll go right? Well you should because you're the one who'll take the pictures!"
"Say what?! Why me?!"
"Come on, you're a great photographer!"
"I'm a doctor though?"
"Doesn't matter, use this a chance to ease up and have fun, it's been years since we've been to family gatherings altogether, and some of our cousins are going back from the different sides of the world so you better be present Dr. Kim"
"Fine"
I didn't really want to come, because just a month after our meeting, a party was again held, I was too excited to go, weirding out my family. When we arrived at the place, I scanned the crowd thoroughly, but didn't find her, I waited and waited for hours, but no Jessica showed up. It was like that everytime, me looking for her, and her not showing up. I thought that maybe she's forgotten about me, I wasn't even really worth remembering. And then, my parents told me that they'll send me to study abroad, I immediately agreed, I wanted a higher education, a higher life, the maybe, Jessica will see me, I just hope.
"Hey, you're spacing out"
"Sorry, when is this party again?"
"Next week"
"Okay then"

"Taeyeon, what's taking you so long?!" I heard my dear sister yell downstairs, ugh, I really can't wait to move over my new house, but sadly, nonno told me not to yet, I wonder why "Yah! Kim Taeyeon!" She again yelled.
"Ey, shut up! I'm done you noisy freak!" I shouted back and rushed down the stairs.
"What the hell are you wearing?!" She exclaimed as she saw me, I looked over myself, um, a pair of jeans, a t-shirt beneath my polo, and uh, shoes?
"What's wrong with my attire?"
"You are so not going to go to a wedding in that kind of- of- clothes!" She paused "Why don't you atleast put on a dress?"
"Idiot, I'll be taking pictures so pants will be comfortable enough" I argued, what's wrong with my fashion?!
Tiffany pulled me up to my room and rummaged through my closet and then pulled out a suit, is she serious?
"Are you kidding or not?"
"Too bad I'm serious sissy" then threw me the clothes
"Can I just wear skinny jeans in exchange for slacks?"
"Sure, wear a blue shirt inside, not a t-shirt okay? And don't use sneakers"
She pushed me inside the bathroom, I've got no choice now do I? I got changed, fast.
"Isn't this too formal?" I asked Tiffany as I walked out the door.
"Nope, it's just fine, better than the earlier one"
"Whatever, let's go, I don't wanna be late" then went to my car while she went to hers, I remembered back then that my dad will always drive us to these parties, time sure does fly by fast.
While driving, music won't be lost of course, a song ended and another played, I smile at what it was, 'We Could Happen' I sang it years ago, when I first met her. I spent the whole drive replaying her smiles, her face, everything, too bad I didn't spend much time with her.

"Taeyeon" I heard a man's voice call behind me, I smiled and ran when I saw him.
"Nonno!"
"My dear, how have you been?"
"Just fine!"
"I see that you've grown slightly taller" he teased
"It's still improvement, I'm only 25, I can still grow nonno" I told him, grinning
"By the way Taeyeon, stay until the end okay? I've got an announcement later"
"Huh? What announcement?"
"You'll see later" and then, he walked away.
I took out my camera and started snapping photos. You can really tell the status of the couple, the church is decorated skillfully, I wonder when my time will come?
"Tae!"
"Oh Hyo, Hey"
"Nice outfit haha, some guys had been checking you out since earlier" and glanced at the men in one of the chairs, I just rolled my eyes "They are friends of some of our relatives"
"Hyo, you know that-"
"Yeah right, that you ain't straight, how would I forget?"
"Well, now that's clear, I'm afraid I need to go and take pics, aunt will kill me if I don't take enough or good ones ugh"
"Sure, bye! I'll just go around and find our cousins" then she waved.
I continued to take photos, from the bridal march, the grooms reaction- it was picture perfect, seeing him almost in tears while smiling to my aunt sincerely. It's a good thing I captured it all.
The wedding proceeded like that, I was alone- which I did prefer so I can concentrate more, soon, it was over, I took pictures of the newly weds walking towards the bridal car and congratulated them on the process before going back to my car and followed to the hotel.
Really, they really spent loads of money for the wedding, well, if it was me I will do the same.
I took photos, the couple with relatives in each table, the family as a whole, the games prepared, it was fun, and the party was in a middle, as I was looking through my camera, it landed in the door. Déjà vu? Maybe, I was hoping for the door to open and reveal her, just like how she entered into my heart years ago, I waited and waited, I as was about to put it down, the door opened, revealing her. Am I dreaming? I clicked the button of my camera and stared at it, it really was her, I looked up again, looking if she was still there, and there she was, walking majestically with her sister, she became even more beautiful, I've always dreamt of this moment, but how come I couldn't bring myself to get near her. She was wearing a dress- with a blue of the same shade as my shirt. I should thank Tiff later.
I walked away, I don't know, maybe I was scared- what if she's already taken? Or married? What if she already forgot me? I won't be able to accept that, maybe hiding away was the best.
I spent my whole time just taking pictures- of her... I was just observing her, her laughter, smiles, everything. I missed her, I felt complete as soon as I saw her, maybe I'm looking like a freak now.
I saw her excusing herself from their table, I followed her, she went outside and sat in one of the benches near the fountain, her eyes closed, again, scenes of our first meeting flashed through my mind, I wanted to approach her, but before I could, a guy went his way in front of her, she smiled to him, I don't know but my heart ached, I stepped back and ran then bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry-" she stopped when I looked up, Krystal? I saw her squinting her eyes then it widened.
"Taeyeon unnie?!" She blurted out, she knew me? As far as I remember, we never got the opportunity to talk.
"You know me?" I finally asked.
"Of course, why are you here? Weren't you studying abroad?" She asked, confusion evident on her face.
"Oh, I just came back last week"
"I see, have you seen my sister then?" I fidgeted and pointed to Jessica's direction.
"Oh" she said, then looked at me and back to Jessica's area, I saw her grin "Don't worry, you don't have to be jealous, I don't know him, he might just be someone who's captivated by my sister's beauty"
"H-huh? What do you mean jealous?"
"Oh come on, may I see your phone?" She asked, what would she do with it? Anyways, I still gave it to her, when it landed on her palm, I remembered something.
"Krystal give it back!" I hurriedly said but it was late, she already saw.
"Aw, you still like her?" She teased, I felt my cheeks blush, instead of answering, I just avoided her gaze. "It's fine, she likes you too"
"What?" No way right?
"You heard me right, if you don't believe me go and ask her yourself"
"But... That would be embarrassing" I mumbled then I thought of something "Um.. Krystal, would you mind helping me with something?" It's now or never.

"Hello everyone" I spoke and called everyone's attention, they had curious looks on their faces "I'm sorry for interrupting you. My name is Kim Taeyeon, I am here to give my greetings to Mr. and Mrs. Son. Congratulations on you marriage, may you live a fruitful life together forever." I saw the door open and Krystal went in, Jessica in tow, her face turned from confused to shocked, I wanted to giggle but I tried not to, I was in front of too many people. "As some of you know, I was also one of the few chosen to catch this couple's shared moments by the use of my lenses. While I was taking their photos, I saw how happy they were, it made me think, when will my turn come?" I stated, earning laughs, and on one side, some cheered my name, they made me chuckle, my cousins are a retarded bunch. "Then I realized something, there's this one person who I kept on thinking about, the one who I wanted to spend the so called forever with, the one who I can call my destiny" I then glanced at Jessica and smiled at her, she smiled back, her eyes already glossy "I assume you already know who you are. So, I'll be singing a song, for the couple who'll start their married life, and for myself and her. Aunt and Uncle, I hope you don't mind?" I asked the couple who smiled warmly at me.
"It's rare for us to see you inlove Taeyeon, we'll all be happy to witness you declare your love" my aunt assured me.
I muttered thanks, then looked behind me- where the live band is placed, I whispered the song in my mind, Wendy started playing the main guitar, Seulgi on the lead guitar, Irene on the keyboard, Joy on the drum, and Yeri for the bass. They were my juniors in university so I'm confident. They started playing, I breathed deep and stared into my soulmates eyes.

"It's all about us" I told her and planted a kiss on her forehead.
I heard the crowd cheer, I hugged her close to me.
"I love you" I whispered
"I love you more" she finally let out, I couldn't believe it "I've loved you for years, how can you just leave me like that?!" She complained, heck, she's still cute.
"Aw, I'm sorry, but as you said, we really are fated to be with each other, aren't you glad I stayed loyal to you?" I teased
"Of course, you're only mine"
"Are you that confident?"
"Yah! So you'll cheat on me?" She pouted, I leaned in and gave her a peck, I couldn't resist her cuteness. I saw her eyes wide, then I realized what I did, the shame just crept up to me, crap, I just kissed her in front of so many people!
"Uh..I..." I trailed, not finding the right words.
"What's happening here?" A voice boomed, I looked over Jessica's back, I saw my parents, the Jungs, and finally my granddad, I tightened my grip on Jessica, but made sure that I didn't hurt her. "Nonno..." I mumbled "Nonno!" I spoke louder and I felt Jessica tug my hand, I saw the worried look on her face, I just smiled at her, there's no way I will let her go. "Meet my girlfriend" I bravely said, their faces were unreadable .
"Girlfriend? She's not your girlfriend Taeyeon" he said.
"She is!" I insisted and pulled Jessica with me and proceeded to the door, but halted when I heard his voice again.
"She is not, because she's your fiancé" I turned around and saw him smiling, even our parents were.
"W-what?" I stuttered, no way, I looked at Jessica and she shared the same reaction as me.
"As I said it Taeyeon, then, would the two of you like to come with us inside a room, we can't keep on disturbing your aunts wedding" then they walked away, I hurriedly went after them.
We entered into one of the hotel rooms. We sat in a couch, he was in front of Jessica and me, our parents were on our left and right.
"So nonno, please get to the point" I demanded.
"As straightforward as ever huh?" He laughed "It was as it is, she's your fiancé, what's so hard to grasp?"
"That phrase! How did she become my fiancé?"
"It was all planned years ago" my mother answered.
"What?!" I exclaimed, years ago?!
"Yes" it was now Jessica's mom "You guys were only 20 then, we all decided that we'll get you two married. But we thought that maybe it'll affect and bother you so much"
"So Taeyeon, you were sent abroad for five years so that you'll have a mature mind when you return. While Jessica, was put in charge of the Jungs company. We were about to give up with the marriage, thinking that maybe you wouldn't want to get married to the same gender, but it seemed like you don't mind" My father continued to explain. "We were actually going to announce your marriage to see how you would react, if you declined, we wouldn't get you two married, but seems like that wasn't the case anymore" So... We really are destined to be together, this is such a small world after all.
"And about the house, you'll be moving in it with Jessica here" my mom added and squealed "I should start looking for furnitures!" She told Mrs. Jung excitedly who mirrored the expression back.
"So, when's the wedding?"
"Nonno! We just became official today!" I exclaimed and pulled Jessica out the room. "They should've told me that I'm already engaged. What if I fell in love with someone else-" I was interrupted by a slap in my arm, I turned to see the glaring Jessica beside me.
"You're planning to fall for someone else?" She asked me.
"Uh... Did I say that? Of course I didn't! Who said that?!"
"Hmp!" She turned her back against me.
"Hey, sorry" I apologized and hugged her back, I felt her stiffen, but she grew comfortable later on.
The two of us then walked hand in hand towards a bench beside the fountain.
"So, how have you been?" I asked as soon as I was seated.
"Hmm, just fine I think, I was going around the globe to search for clients"
"Really? That must've been tiring"
"Well yeah, but it's also kind of fun, meeting new people, cultures and other things. What about you? I heard you studied abroad"
"Well yes, I studied in Harvard"
"Harvard?!" Jessica exclaimed, I chuckled at the sight of her widened eyes.
"Yes haha, is it that shocking?"
"Uhh, well you looked smart but I didn't know you were THAT smart"
"I know, I'm amazing, and did you just insult me?"
"Come on Taeyeon, we know I am more" Jessica said, winking, what's that supposed to mean? "I'm amazing cause you fell in love with me at first sight"
"Hah! Keep dreaming" I denied.
"Really? Who was the one who kept on looking over secretly at me?" She teased.
"What? No way! I wasn't!"
"You did, the whole time actually, even when you were singing that song, I could actually hear you back then"
"It's as if you're admitting that you were also observing me the whole time" I retorted, I can't lose!
"Yes I was" She admitted confidently.
"Okay that backfired" I mumbled, that was embarrassing.
"So, when's the wedding?" She asked me, my mouth slacked open.
"Are you kidding?" I asked but she just gave me an innocent look "Wedding? Like, hello? We only met like two times Jessica"
"So? Does that matter? I've loved you for years! Was that not enough?" She retorted, puffing her cheeks "You don't wanna get married to me?" And sadly look down, crap.
"Huh? Where'd that come from? I didn't say that!" I immediately told her, afraid that I might've hurted her feelings. "Jessica, look at me" I commanded but she didn't oblige aish "Sooyeon" still not moving "Honey look at me" finally! "It's not like I don't wanna get married to you, it's just that, what if you don't really love me? What if you get fed up and decided to leave me? I can't bear that"
"So now you're saying that you don't trust me?"
"What? Ugh! You're so stubborn!" I exclaimed and stomped my feet then I heard giggles beside me "Why are you laughing?!" I asked pouting still frustrated.
"Nothing, you're like a kid who is making me believe that chicken was first before the egg"
"And you're just like a kid with a broad immagination"
"Hey, I'm already 24! Then 25 this year! I'm also taller than you so don't call me a kid!"
"Too bad little missy cause I'm older than you~"
"What?! Really?! When was your birthday?" Was it really that shocking?
"March 9th" I casually replied and leaned to the bench to close my eyes.
"That was just last week"
"Hmm"
"Happy Birthday!" Then I felt her lips on my cheek, I bolted up immediately and saw her giggling beside me, she should stop giggling cause I might put her in my damn pocket and keep her to myself. "Too bad I wasn't there to celebrate with you"
"Nah, it's fine, we can celebrate it next year!"
"Really? As a wedded couple?" Here we go again.
"Why do you even wanna get married right away? We should wait years for that!"
"Are you kidding? Years?!" A voice behind me gasped, great.
"What the hell are the all of you doing here?" I asked my cousins, plus Tiffany and Krystal, okay, when did the get close?
"Well we heard about the wedding and-" Tiffany started.
"You what?! From who?!"
"From granddad, everyone's going crazy inside, they're partying of the news that the heir is finally getting married" Heechul oppa added.
"Is it really that big of a news?" Jessica who was beside me "Oh, that was rude, let me introduce myself, I'm Jessica Jung" she introduced and bowed towards my cousins who did the same.
"Tiffany Kim, I'm unfortunately her sister" and went to hug Jessica.
"Yah what's that supposed to mean?!" I grunted but was ignored as Hyoyeon introduced herself next..
"Kim Hyoyeon, the awesome cousin" I scoffed and she hugged Jessica.
"Heechul" oppa introduced and opened his arms, attempting to hug my Jessica, I pulled the collar of his shirt and dragged him away.
"Next please" I announced
"Hey, are we in a fansigning event?" Jessica commented.
"Well you see miss Jung" Hyoyeon started "You're basically a god!" She exclaimed and my cousins agreed.
"Huh?"
"You see, I've never seen Taeyeon like this before, she's not the type to have a crush on someone she saw for the first time, but now! Hah! It wasn't just a crush!"
"Really?" Jessica said, amused. God why did Hyoyeon have to blurt that out?! "May we excuse ourselves?" She said, now Im the one being pulled, great, just great. "Tae, just marry me" she suddenly blurted out and faced me, she's serious this time.
"Are you proposing to me right now?" I tried teasing.
"If that's what you call it is"
"You should have a ring!" I told her, she scratched her nape, it wasn't like I didn't want to get married, I wanted to get to know her better first.
I saw her take her phone out and dialed a number.
"Yes... It's me... I need you to buy me a pair of engagement rings, the most expensive ones... Size?" She stared at my hand "About the same size as mine... Yes that's fine"
I stared at her in disbelief.
"Are you serious?"
"Yes I am, so you better say yes"
"Why are you so determined anyway Miss Jung?"
"Is saying that I love you not enough?" She asked,I didn't answer, she sighed "Look Taeyeon, I know that you're afraid, marriage is such a big thing" she paused "And I know that if we take on that path, we'll struggle and suffer a lot. I can't assure you that I won't hurt your feelings, but I can promise not to hurt you intentionally. I love you Kim Taeyeon, I know you do too,so can you give me this chance to prove myself to you?" She told me sincerely, I can feel my eyes getting teary. "Are you crying? Do you really not want to get married with me?" She panickly asked and wiped my strayed tears. "If you really don't want to then I will not force -" I interrupted her with a kiss, she was surely taken aback.
"Ask me again" I demanded.
"Huh? Ah... Oh!" I laughed at her, she was so tensed.
"Calm down Jess"
Then a man in a suit came up to us,he handed Jessica a small box and walked away. I heard Jessica clear .
"This might not be the most romantic proposal ever, but it's enough if two hearts feel the same way right?" She started and opened the box, she breathed deeply "Kim Taeyeon, can you take me with you in your life's journey? Not as someone else, but a part of your whole being?" She nervously asked.
"May I think about it?" I asked, aware that I ruined the moment.
"Yah!"
"Yes"
"H-huh?"
"Yes"
"Really?"
"Hmm"
"Really?"
"Really unnie! Are you a broken disc?!" I turned around, I just noticed that my cousins and other relatives- including our parents and nonno were all watching us, smiles on her face "And when did you become so sweet?"
"Shut it Krystal!" Then Jessica took the ring out and slid it in my finger, how come it fit so perfectly? "I won't make you regret this Taeyeon" she said and gave me a peck on the lips, I heard the crowd cheer.
"I won't either Sooyeon. I love you" I said and pulled her into a hug.
"I love you more"
"I love you most!"
"I love you to the moon and back"
I smiled when I heard her sigh defeatedly.
Who would've thought that a small encounter can change my life so much? I know that we wouldn't be the perfect couple, we would fight over silly things, get mad on little details, but I do know, that the two of us can make it through, together.
