our troubles will be out of sight

"Unnie!" the younger one jumped up and down the older's bed repeatedly, trying to wake her older sister up.

"Urgh" was all she got for response.

"Oh come on! It's Christmas! Who sleeps in on Christmas Eve?!"

"Me. So shoo, don't ruin my rest - slash - sleep day. Too tired." the body under the blanket let out as she shifted a bit.

"Unnie, Get uuup!!" the younger didn't give up pestering the other, now also jumping onto the lump in bed.

"Jung Soo Jung!" a dolphin shriek followed.

"Gee, stop being so grumpy!" Jung Soojung or publicly known as Krystal, the younger sibling of Jung Sooyeon said as she placed a mug of hot chocolate in front of her sister. "We should celebrate, we haven't since-" she knew better to not mention anything regarding them to her sister as it will bring her hopes down. "Want me to call Tyler?" she asked instead, resulting of her sister to snatch her phone away.

"Don't call that bastard, my blood boils even with just seeing only a glimpse of his shadow." Jessica said with much venom.

"Knew it, anyway, cheer up, we're having guests over." Soojung mentioned as she took her phone back and started typing.

"Who? Aren't mom and dad in California?" but the taller just shrugged.

Soojung glanced up from her phone when she heard a deep sigh from her sister's way. "Where'd that come from?" she asked with undivided attention, whoever she was texting can wait, her sister's far more important.

"Nothing, just thinking of work. We have a-"

"Unnie" Soojung interrupted. "It's Christmas" she stated matter-of-factly with a grin, making the older slightly shorter frown.

"But-"

"It's Christmas" she repeated with an assuring smile.

"Right. it's Christmas" Sooyeon - or Jessica also said, now mirroring her sister's smile.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

"When did you have the time to prepare all these?" Jessica asked her sister as the younger Jung brought out all type of Christmas Eve must-have-foods in America, England, and Korea.

"I didn't. I asked someone to do so" she answered and clapped her hands when the shorter placed the last dish on their long table.

"How many people are visiting us anyway? This is enough for thirty people." Jessica asked curiously, looking away from the roasted turkey to see her sister grinning weirdly on her phone."Yah!" she hit her sister's arm to earn the former's attention.

"Oh!" Soojung exclaimed. "Well, they have big appetites so I doubt there'll be anything left later"

"I see"

"Unnie.."

"Yeah?"

"Merry Christmas." she said and hugged her, startling the other."I love you"

"I love you too" she responded, returning the heartwarming hug.

"But" Soojung started, breaking the hug.

"But?"

"I gotta go!" she exclaimed rapidly and was out their house in an instant.It took a while to register into Jessica's mind,and when it did...

"Jung Soojung!!!"

She was cursing at her sister and mumbling some thing like 'I'm so gonna kill her for leaving me here' , 'Am I supposed to entertain her guests then?' , 'Great, cause I'm the queen of socializing', when the doorbell rang. 

She didn't bother looking through the peephole as she thought that her sister just forgot something - her.But she was in for a shock when arms wrapped around her and a Santa hat is placed on top of her head. People streaming in greeting her Merry Christmas.

"Wait!" She shouted, stopping the others. She could only register their faces right now - faces she hadn't seen for years and tears started forming on her eyes and soft smiles on the other eight's faces. "Why are you here?" She managed to ask in between wails, making the oldest in the room chuckle, earning her attention. Oh how she missed this dork's face.

"We thought that maybe you had missed us by now Sica" she - Kim Taeyeon said and proceeded to wipe the taller's tears away.

"Idiots! you are all idiots!" Jessica shouted. "There was never a day that I didn't think of any of you at all. I thought that maybe you have forgottenabout me- that you've accepted the group being eight-"

"Shush" Tiffany interrupted but putting a hand over Jessica's mouth. "You've always been so negative Jessi" she muttered and kissed the slightly older's cheek, stopping the latter's wails.

"Sure we may have hated you for-" Jessica's about to cry again when she heard the word hate,then Sooyoung, being the tallest one effectively shut Hyoyeon's mouth from leaving a bad comment and making it worse by pulling the shorter to her stomach. "Ugh, C-Can't b-brea-the!" came Hyoyeon's muffled voice, making the former let go. "Whew! Aaaalmost died there!" she exclaimed exaggerating eliciting chuckles from the others.

"I thought that our reunion will be full of tears" Sunny, the shortest one mentioned.

"I actually brought boxes of tissues but it turns out that Sonyeo Shidae really is a joyful bunch" Seohyun - their maknae commented as she passed more tissues to Taeyeon who's still wiping Jessica's face.

"You only realized that by now our dear maknae? And it's Christmas! There's no time to be gloomy!" said Yuri as she turned towards Taengsic. "And you little midget! Stopped hogging Sica to yourself, you may be the one who missed her most but there are eight of us!" she told the leader and separated the two vocalists.

"Fine fine!" Taeyeon moved to the side and gave the go signal for the other seven to smother their only Ice Princess.

"Finally!" Yoona, the second maknae, the one who Jessica treated as her own sister finally spoke as she engulfed her unnie in a bear hug. "I missed you unnie. So much."

"Me too Jessi" the Korean - American shouted - well, not exactly but Tiffany's voice is naturally loud so that's the same.

"Me three!"

"I only dreamed of this" Jessica spoke to no one but Taeyeon- sitting just beside her heard.

"Of what?" the older asked.

"Of spending Christmas again with you all"

"Well maybe you should thank your sister."

"I knew it, that brat has so much up in her sleeves that catches me off-guard."

"She'll do anything for you Sica"

"I know. I will also do so Taeyeon"

"I missed you" Taeyeon confessed.

"I.."

"Hey love birds!" Yuri - who was in front of the two called. "Aw, you really do look cute together, right Fany?" she asked Tiffany beside her who nodded with an eye smile.

"Really?" Jessica said, a brow raised. "But I heard Taeny is now going stronger" she commented and noticed Taeyeon gulping.

"I- uh- that's"

Taeyeon was interrupted by laughs. "I was kidding Taengoo."

"Geez Sica. Anyway, how have you been? Being taken and all?" all she intended to do was tease the younger but it seems like that issue is not something to joke about. The atmosphere immediately went down,even Hyoyeon and Sooyoung who were fooling around felt it.

"I'm not taken." they were all waiting for more but knew that it was the end of that topic when the second oldest resumed eating.

The dorks of the group managed to lift the mood up easily by telling jokes. They may talk about Tyler sometime later, this will not be the last time they gather aftell all.

"Why are we here again?" Sunny asked, hugging her jacket tighter around her body.

Sooyoung just sneered at her."Don't act so cold, we've been through worse"

"You got me hehe" Sunny let out with aegyo.

"Really Sunkyu?" Taeyeon reacted as she set the huge blanket down with the help of Seohyun and Yuri. "Can't you atleast grant us all the privilege of not hearing your aegyo this Christmas?" making Sunny scrunch her nose.

"Then mine is fine?" Yoona teased with baby talking and is now being strangled by her Tiffany unnie.

"Touchdooown!"Hyoyeon shouted as she dove into the pile of blankets.

"Yah! Move! I'm about to put pillows you idiot" Jessica growled as she kicked Hyoyeon out.

"And Hyoyeon's out!" Sooyoung commented like a boxing commentator. "The Ice Princess is still unraveled after all this years!"

"You make it sound like I'm a wrestler!" the shorter retorted and pushed the taller into the pile before jumping on top of the younger.

"Oh! Let me join in!" Yuri announced and joined the two, the others followed suit - except Seohyun didn't jump as she was afraid to hurt her unnies.

"The cold never bothered me anyway" Tiffany sang in her husky voice as she and the other eight lay on their backs.

"I sure miss performing with you" Jessica fessed up. "We've performed while snowing and is blazing hot. It sure was hard - but fun"

The others could only agree. "Maybe we can go back to the old times when all the pressure has subsided." Sunny said, hopeful.

"We've waited for years to debut anyway" Yoona added.

"I guess that Sones can still wait for us even if we take too long." Seohyun chimed.

"They will, they still believe in us after everything that has happened."Hyoyeon spoke so seriously.

"Till then, may we all stay in our chosen paths" Sooyoung said.

"And have faith in our group." Taeyeon said. "As Right now..." she raised her hand up.
