Cover the colourless with a rainbow; put colour to the sunset ocean
The landscape that you see is so warm, so face the wind that you feel
Taemin nudges me, and I realize that I have been staring at this man for too long without speaking. I clear my throat.
“Kim Kibum,” I say. “This is Taemin.”
“Grandma says I need to drop you off at the hospital…?”
Taemin chuckles softly, and I realize that I am blushing. My cheeks are hot, and I can feel it.
“Ah, no! That’s not necessary, we can go on our own, its fine.” I say.
“No, I’d rather drop you off. I’m idle, anyway. I’d love to help.” Jonghyun says. I can’t help but wonder what it is about this man’s voice that makes my colours fade.
“I’m not sure…” I say, but Taemin makes the decision for me.
“Thank you so much, Jonghyun-ssi. We’d love for you to drop us off.” I glare at Taemin before realizing that glaring at a blind person is pointless.
“Stop glaring at me, hyung. I can feel it.” Taemin says and smiles sweetly at Jonghyun. “I’m blind, you see.”
I stifle a gasp.
Taemin, over the course of time, did everything he could to hide this fact. He learnt echolocation, learnt how to use sound and touch to his advantage.
The fact that he admitted his blindness to a perfect stranger is very shocking to me. But Jonghyun doesn’t seem to react.
“Okay, I’d love to drop you both off.” He says and smiles.
And what a smile it is.

We slide into his car, me in the passenger, and Taemin in the backseat.
When he takes out his headphones, realization slaps me in the face.
Jonghyun is the man I saw on the subway so many days ago.
I stare at him, disbelief written on my features.
“What?” He asks me. “Is there something on my face?”
“No…” I say. “I saw you on the subway that day. You were listening to music.”
Jonghyun scrunches his face in confusion. “Oh, did you? Yeah, I use the subway pretty often.”
He revs the car. We are already out of the lot when I realize-
The colours.
They’re gone.
I am staring at my hands, at the dashboard, at the windows, and I don’t know whether to laugh or cry.
I roll my window down to see whether the colours really are gone.
I ignore Taemin’s little squeak of panic when the high, fast sounds of traffic fill the car. Jonghyun is staring at me.
“What are you doing? The A/C is on,” He says, and my vision is crystal clear.
It is only when I look at him that I realize that I am crying.
“Kibum-ssi, what’s wrong?” He asks me. We stop at a traffic light.
“Hyung, roll up the window,” Taemin screeches. “What are you trying to do?!”
“No, I-” when a sleek black car whizzed past us in spite of the red light, and one of the drivers yelled at him, I could hear everything, and it was… amazing.
“Hyung?” Taemin says. “What are you doing?”
“Taeminnie,” I whisper. “I can see.”
*
Jinki looks at me with wide eyes.
“Repeat that for me?” he asks me.
“I can’t see the colours anymore. I think I’m cured.” I say confidently. Jinki stares at me.
“See, this is
