Natsukashii
Originally derived from verb 懐く (natsuku, “to get used to and keep close; to become fond of”), itself an abbreviation of 馴れ付く (naretsuku) of the same meaning. The adjective originally described wanting to keep something close, wanting to express fondness for something. Over time, this term was used more to describe reminiscences, leading to the modern meaning.
As an adjective, it stands for the state of "feeling nostalgic" or "fond/sweet memory"

It was ringing, then it was quiet.
Too quiet for his liking.
The sky is not that blue anymore, as what his eyes can make out of his blurry sight. His body feels numb. Too numb. It’s like he doesn’t have limbs. It’s like he’s just an intangible existence.
But his head can still feel, and he turns at his side, trying to understand what kind of environment he is in. Yet when his gaze lands on his right side, he sees him. Laying next to him, staring right into his eyes. A small smile blooms on his thin lips.
